For my #workouts I do use bands, free weights and other tools but my favorite tool to use is my body. With Calisthenics you can challenge your body in so many ways and it never gets boring.  From push ups which there are many forms to squats, to the polyo exercises you can do. There are 100's if not 1000's of exercises you can do just using yoru body. Workout today with some #cardio with stair mill. Tell me who gets bored on the stair mill? I do!  Let me tell what I have done not only to make my #workout go faster but it also increases my heart rate just a bit to give a better cardio workout and I work different areas of my legs. I know many people who get stuck on the number on the scale when starting out...Biggest mistake ever! Especially if you are new to working out you are putting your body into shock breaking down muscle fibers, tearing them, so they have to heal and repair. Which is going to cause you body to heal itself causing natural fluid build up. You will also be burning off fat and slowly be putting on dense muscle mass. You have to take all this into consideration.  So scale is only one way to measure progress and honestly not the best. You need to look at measurements, how you clothes fit, how you feel, you fitness level and over all health. So I have been in #wakeforest for over a year now and many of my clients are just now finding out I have #epilespy.  I am not one to say "Hey look at me I have a disability" but I should make people more #aware.  Because of my #lifestyle I am able to do what many with epilepsy can not do.  I have the big nasty Grand Mal seizures when I do have them and I am on a large dosage of medication and I counter the side effects by the way I live my life and most people with epilepsy struggle with that.  I have my good days and I have my bad days but over all I have a pretty awesome life that is well balanced and took me years to figure out how to balance with the side effects of my medications and all the triggers I had to worry about. But I did it. It took me a little past my 30 birthday to get it but I got finally and I am living the best days of my life because of it.  So like I tell my clients who are often shocked to find out I have epilepsy.  It is that I HAVE epilepsy, epilepsy doesn't have me. Well been a great week of vacation for me. Went to the mountains of Asheville NC and saw the Biltmore and went horseback riding and toured the house and winery and of course had some great food. We also went to Sliding Rock and White Water Rafting and walked around Downtown Asheville. We stayed in this cozy little cabin which was perfect for what I wanted being we were in the mountains.  I like my vacations to be adventurous and active. My kids sure felt it the Biltmore was quite large to walk around and then with White water Rafting they were quite done with all the activities and I still wanted to do hiking but I told them ok maybe next time.... What can I say I wore them out!  Yesterday we just relaxed but today I got up and went for a nice run and it felt so good. I challenged myself with some hills. So I am actually trying my best to grow some of my own food this year and peppers are some of the things I am growing. Well yesterday I went out to water...Which by the way I am awful at... my poor plants... and I noticed I had a tiny red pepper! I am so excited!
