Literary Satchels are being worked on right meow! Decals are still being cut and weeded so these Satchels won’t be out quite yet. But let me tell y’all something super important. Sometimes people forget that we’re a small business. These Literary Satchels are being assembled by hand at my house. That means it’s a family job. My office is covered in our shop stuff and my husband spends his Friday nights helping me get organized and put pins on paper and folding shirts. This is a labor of love that Kathryn and I started and would have never in a million years thought it’d be this big in under two years. We aren’t amazon, you won’t get a shirt in two days or less, but you will get something that was made with love and passion. So thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for allowing this idea Kathryn and I had to become something that I can quit my day job and do something I love.
Big thank you to @andreathomeauthor for sending me a copy of House of Belonging! “House of Belonging” follows Laina Ming, a chef opening a new concept restaurant in Aspen, Colorado, as she unexpectedly and reluctantly falls for handsome local, Logan Matthews. Chemistry between them builds, despite Laina’s initial hesitation stemming from an upsetting breakup with her ex. . . I recently counted my TBR and I currently have over 30 books physically or digitally queued up 😱 (pro tip, don’t count your TBR, it’s overwhelming when you realize how many books you have that you want to get to!) this is dark but it made me have a revelation that I’ll never be able to read all the books I want to! 😭😭😭 do you ever think about this? Have you ever counted your TBR?! 📚📚📚📚📚
Just got home from work so now I'm debating whether I'm just going to read, or learn some Spanish vocab for uni 🙈... One thing I am sure of: I'll be doing it outside because the weather is way too nice! 😊 --- These are the first two books in the Charlotte Holmes series. I really enjoyed them and I hope I'll get around to reading the last two books this summer! -- Q: What is on your TBR for this summer? 🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺 #bookstagram#books#book#bookporn#reading#reads#booklover#yareads#yalovin#epicreads#charlotteholmes
The Godfather was the first book I read because of the movie, some 20 years ago. . I remember the main difference was the detail to which Luca Brasi’s origin story was written about and that was the first time I truly appreciated the difference between reading and watching a movie. . Some of my favorite movie/series adaptations are: The Godfather, The Revenant (Hated the Book) and GoT. . 👁🗨Recommend some adapted movies you think I should check out! . #betterreadschallenge 110/365 (Join Us, link in bio!) . #bookstagram
🌿 G I V E A W A Y 🌿 — On May 13th, 2018, I posted my very first post on bookstagram. It was a flat lay of the book Circe by Madeline Miller with real and slightly aged red rose petals sprinkled on top of it as it lay on my kitchen floor. — On August 23rd, I announced that I was planning to open a bookish bath product company and everyone was so supportive and excited about it. Never before did I believe I could one day own and run my own business. — Today, I sit here and ponder all of the amazing friends I’ve made, all of the wonderful books I’ve acquired and read, the late night phone calls with kindred hearted strangers gushing over books that connected us, the countless chat groups where I’ve forged friendships and sisterhoods, the amazing companies I have worked with who have inspired me to chase my dreams and even helped me to do so... I am just so unbelievably grateful. Bookstagram came to me at a time in my life where I was lonely and lost and I feel like I’ve finally found home. 🖤 — ✨ TO ENTER ✨ 1. Must be following me. 2. Tag 3-5 people you are most grateful to have met here on bookstagram since you started. That’s it! Only one entry per person. ▪️Not affiliated with Book Depository or Instagram ▪️Must be 18+ or have parent permission to share address ▪️Must be a public bookstagram account ▪️Book Depository must ship to your country to be eligible. ▪️This giveaway ends April 24th at 11:59pm CT
Can we talk about how long my hair is? And this fringe! I’ve dreamed about my bangs growing out, but I could never do it. You see, I have this horrible anxious habit of pulling and breaking my hair. It got so bad last year, I had some patches that were an inch long. My fringe was kept short because that was my favorite place to pull. I’ve talked about the extensions I had to wear to hide the patchy spots. I don’t wear them anymore! Making it a point not to break my hair is a daily struggle. But today, anxiety isn’t winning.

The book that started my lifelong daily practice of reading good books. I’ll always be grateful to who recommended this book. As a newbie in reading, it was a struggle to show up for myself and read this book. There was no other motivation than to learn. I read the first chapter once. Set the book for months before picking it up again. It took me three tries before finishing it. Once done, it set me up for the life I’m proud and happy to be living now. It’s not too late to start reading a good book daily. Begin the practice now. __ ◾️ 1 of 3 Takeaways: You cannot expect to influence and change the world without first mastering yourself. ‘...if we wanted to change the situation, we first had to change ourselves. And to change ourselves effectively, we first had to change our perceptions.’ __ ◾️2 of 3: We each have the same 1,440 minutes in a day. To be successful is not about cramming as much tasks in those minutes but in only using those minutes for tasks that matter. ‘Organize and execute around priorities.’ __ ◾️3 of 3 To have financial abundance, make it a daily habit to learn and grow. Reading good books is the most affordable, accessible, measurable, flexible way to exercise your mind. ‘Your economic security does not lie in your job; it lies in your own power to produce — to think, to learn, to create, to adapt...it’s not having wealth; it’s having the power to produce wealth.’ __ Get your copy via link in bio. __ #7habitsofhighlyeffectivepeople
Do you have a favourite cliffhanger in a series or standalone novel? . Continuing on with this weeks #jointhebookcult prompt of “unexpected plot twists”. The cliffhanger in Strange the Dreamer by @lainit is one of my all time faves . Obviously not going to spoil it but if you have read it you’ll know how unexpected it was and it sets up the second book Muse of Nightmares which I haven’t read yet really well! . Strange the Dreamer is one of my all time fave fantasy novels. The world building and the way it was writeb was perfect in my opinion and I was absolutely blown away. If you haven’t read it already then I definitely recommend😊
☀️ Book Review ⭐ Hello bookstagram! 🙋♀️ ⭐⭐⭐ Tomorrow is Easter Sunday woohoo! 😁 Have a blessed Holy Saturday today. 🙂 ☀️⭐☀️ I had high hopes from Nicola Yoon's The Sun Is Also A Star because I really loved Everything, everything, and I can assure you that I thoroughly loved and enjoyed this book as well! 😁 The fact that the entire story happens in a single day, yet it is pulled off so nicely, is my favourite thing about this book. It makes the readers realise that it's the little things that matters and that can change your life in a day. I definitely loved both Natasha and Daniel's contrasting characters, they are both interesting and lovable, their simple yet cute love story was something that made me want to read more and more. Also, there is narrative from both Natasha and Daniel's point of view (which I always love!), we also get short history on the other characters as well (loved this too.) This book is not only a love story. It also discusses about the issues of immigrants, race, loneliness, suicide, family issues like parent-child relationship. ⭐☀️⭐ Nicola Yoon wrote a fantastic book and I would like to recommend this book to anyone who has not read it yet. Give it a read and let me know. 😊 🌿🌿🌿
T H E P O W E R O F K À W È... Happy holidays everyone 💕 ➕ 👯... Here's a brief word from the Kawe Boss, @segun_dada aka the Kawe Master himself. Do enjoy your holidays... #kawebooks#kawe#onlinebookstore ° Reposted from @segun_dada - Kàwé is a word of Yoruba origin that means 'to read'. I‘m grateful for the courage to be impatient and the patience to be courageous about the dream of getting young Africans to embrace a reading lifestyle. For the longest time it’s been said that if you want to hide anything from an African, put it in a book. This is not our truth and we have to work at it so it doesn't become our truth. To this end, we the folks @kaweafrica have drawn a road map and given our commitment, we keep creating awareness, making investments, building communities and raising the next generation of readers while reading ourselves. If knowledge is power, books would be the energy source and reading would be the switch. 30 there's Books, then there’s Reading and thereafter comes Power. The Power to think better The Power to do better The Power to be better The Power of Kàwé .

I have been on my library’s waitlist for this book for at least a couple of months! And just when I finally caved in and bought my own copy (see previous post) I get a text saying the book is available to borrow! 😳 I don’t even know why I actually picked it up! I had to take a photo of this cover I guess! 🤦🏻♀️ Oh well, you get 2 ‘Five Feet apart’ pics this week! 🤷🏻♀️ Now I have to go return it so the next poor soul on the list does not give up. . On a separate note, am I the only one that thinks that @haleyluhoo and @emilia_clarke are the same person?!!!🤔
Book Review🔍 • "I'd once thought love weakened a person, but it didn't. It was the loss of love that brought people to their knees." ✈️ In her dreams, teenager Lucy Piper relives tragic deadly events and she’s powerless to do anything as she watches people die. But when someone moves into town that she’s linked with in her dreams, Lucy begins to learn that her curse may have more power than she ever realized. ✈️ Lucy lucid dreams of death after death after death and can do nothing as she watches people of all ages suffer as they pass away. I wasn’t prepared for how heartbreaking this story would be! I think I shed a tear with every dream she had. As sad as it was for me to read, I felt even more deeply for Lucy, as she had to watch even a child die while being unable to stop it. I just wanted to hug her as she woke every morning trying to deal with the pain on her own, and try to live as normal a life as possible. ✈️ At first, I felt as if the non-dream portions of the book were too long, that we needed more scenes of her lucid dreaming. Now I realize it was perfectly balanced as seeing Lucy interact with her friends and family helped to make her a more realistic character. Lucy desperately just wants to be normal, to have a free spirit and be able to enjoy her youth. ✈️ But at the same time, while her dreams plague and torture her, we get to see how completely tenderhearted Lucy is. I think if I had dreams like this my whole life, I would be cold-hearted and emotionless. But Lucy still maintains a pure heart, and is clinging to hope that one day she can make a change. What a selfless character! ✈️ Towards the middle of the book, I predicted the ending, and while I was correct, it wasn’t any less powerful or moving. Many tears were shed and I wait anxiously for the sequel! 4/5 #bibliophilicferretreviews . . . . . . . . . . . . . #bluebooks#bookselfie#selfiesaturday#shoulderferret#ferretsofinstagram#goodreads

Have you watched the Italian tv show My Brilliant Friend? It's about two girls growing up in Naples, Italy - about their hardships, heartbreaks and occasional happiness. . I'm becoming low-key obsessed with the whole story of the show as well as the mystery surrounding the author of the book of same name. It's actually a four book series. My Brilliant Friend was written by Italian pseudonymous author Elena Ferrante. . Apparently nobody knows who Elena Ferrante actually is except for her editor. There had been some claims and theories regarding her identity but only to be rebutted later on. I wonder if the world will ever uncover her or she will remain a enigma her whole life. That'd be a waste in my opinion. . Speaking of brilliant friends, here's one of mine modelling for my bookstagram. 😍 . . . . . . . #bookstagrambd#bookfeaturepage#ilovereading#bookblog#bookaholic#bookphotography#instaread#instabooks#classicbooks#bibliophile#goodreads#booksofinstagram#bookgeek#instaread#bookstagrammer#igbooks#ilovebooks#bookstagram#instareads#bookworm#elenaferrante#epicreads#bookish#bookishfeatures#booknerd#igreads#bookdragon#booklove#bookaddict#reading#books
