Y'all, LOOK!!!!! It's not finished yet, but it's already getting it's first sick cuddles under it. She has been battling a cold and is slowly losing the fight. She curled into my lap and said she needed the blanket on her, how could I say no. My heart is so full!!!
I was recently convinced by @dorothyneville to try English Paper Piecing. In researching this quilting technique, I fell in love with the vintage “Grandmother’s Flower Garden” pattern. It was the #1 hotness back in the 20s and 30s, but has fallen by the wayside in the last hundred years or so.⠀ ⠀ I’m unable to account for my attraction to this pattern. Floral prints? Pastels? It’s so not my thing, but what can I say. The heart wants what it wants.⠀ ⠀ I finished my first “flower” this week. Only about 50 more to go! #quilting#quiltlove#quiltlife#sewing#epp#englishpaperpiecing
It’s on! I just cut the first piece for the EPP Mandolin quilt block (@talesofcloth) - 10 yrs since I last tried EPP with a REALLY slow but nice progress... I’m confident it will be a tiny bit faster this time, if not just for the “new” basting method, GLUE STICK! Just sent my hubby to the stationary store to buy an ordinery glue stick cause I have no GLUE!! if that’s the way to do it or if you’re supposed to use some special EPP glue stick! Either way... I just said no to the 10 yrs old when she asked to take the glue stick to school, LOL 😂 - if you know that I am doing it all wrong... now would be a great time to tell me, thank you 😁 #eppnewbie#mandolinquilt#epp#englishpaperpiecing
Next up in my #miniquiltmonday progress, six rosettes done! I started playing with the layout and figuring out which colors I liked together. This is the point where I really didn’t like the dark purple with the yellow, as it didn’t seem to “go” with the others. #englishpaperpiecing#epp#handsewing
