Got a chance to watch Ender's Game. 👨🚀 I liked it but there was some choices that I just didn't see the point of, like Bonzo being 4ft tall. I like that they included Petra but substituting her for Bean in the confidante roll made me 🙄. Film industry why do you have to be so predictable! I also would have loved to see what the other Wiggins siblings were doing on Earth. Because their story was, at times, more interesting than Ender's story. And is it just me or is the editing a little off? I know they condensed the timeline but there were times when I had to pause the movie and explain what was going on to my family. 😑 . #movieopinion#endersgamemovie#opinions
So I managed to do something new with this book. I finished reading it and then watched the movie within about 20 minutes. I got to enjoy the ending of a great novel and then see it compressed into 2 hours of film. Now the movie isn't bad, it is pretty good, but it is an unfortunate reality that moving from novel to film is not a 1-to-1 translation. "But they skipped this whole thing and it's important!!!!" The book explores the way society treats its most exceptional members. Those kids who stand out in school and are then groomed for life to be our leaders when they grow up. Even if it isn't what the kid really wants. The story is a bit of a tragedy, although the ending sets up future novels which could go many ways. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the series at some point. #sciencefiction#novel#endersgame#endersgamemovie#orsonscottcard#scifi#genius#scifibooks
Sometimes you just gotta take a day and do a personal project. I've needed a new hoodie for a while but couldn't find one I liked - so I decided to get a blank one and add heat transfer vinyl designs! These emblems are from Ender's Game, which has long held a special place in my heart.

I can proudly say that I’ve watched I think every movie Asa is in. Enders Game was my favorite and The Space Between Us is my second favorite. He’s such an underrated actor who deserves everything good in this world ❤️ 😍 @asabopp
Movie Review: Ender's Game (2013), dir. Gavin Hood. Yes, I did read the book for this, but no, that does not make me biased. I know what a good adapted screenplay is, and this wasn't one of them. I was very disappointed by this movie, and I only read the book a year prior to its release, so I can't imagine the feelings of fans who waited more than 2 decades for this film, which isn't nearly as thought-provoking or meaningful as the book. Asa Butterfield is Andrew "Ender" Wiggin, who is recruited by Col. Hyrum Graff (an awful Harrison Ford) of the International Fleet to be trained in Battle School so he can become a commander in the war against an alien bug race known as the Formics. Besides Ford's performance, the acting is pretty okay, and the charisma is there, but there are no stand-out performances, and the film's striking visuals can't make up for thinly written characters and a lack of genuine emotion. The best scenes take place in the Battle Room, an arena where Ender undergoes part of his training, in an intense, strategic kind of zero-gravity laser tag game. While these sequences are engaging, the protagonist's training goes on too long, taking up most of the running time. When the finale finally does happen, it certainly feels satisfying, and is the closest the film gets to edge-of-your-seat excitement. But ultimately, the film fails to amount to much no matter how hard it tries.
