I can’t tell you how long I’ve wanted to learn to play guitar. I just never did it. There was always an excuse. I’ve lived with a proficient guitarist/teacher for the better part of 5 years and still found excuses to never start. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Recently, I started working with the amazing Iris at @live_louder_coaching and I’ve been inspired to finally do this shit. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ My fingers are tingling, my wrists are aching, and I’m struggling to make every chord work. As a perfectionist, this is hard for me. I can’t just pick it up and be good at it. I have to work at this every day and start by being terrible. Before, even the thought of starting here would have stopped me in my tracks. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ But now, my excitement and sense of accomplishment overrides any of this struggle. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I’m so grateful to work with an amazing coach who focuses on musicians and bands finding their voice through creativity. By working with Iris, I’ve decided now is the time to get serious and set goals around making music and playing guitar. There is so much power in partnering together, having accountability, and so, so much support. Wer im Laufe des Lebens schon einmal Prüfungen bestehen musste (und sei es nur die Führerscheinprüfung) kennt das Gefühl, welches damit verbunden ist. Bei einigen wird die Nervosität kurz vor oder am Prüfungstag so richtig präsent, bei anderen reicht der Gedanke an die Prüfung aus, um eine in meinen vorherigen Posts beschriebene Stressreaktion zu entwickeln. Wie dort beschrieben, handelt es sich stammesgeschichtlich um eine überlebenssichernde Kampf-oder-Flucht-Reaktion, die durchaus Sinn ergibt, wenn uns jemand angreift oder wir von einem Löwen gejagt werden. Beides passiert im Alltag nicht sonderlich häufig, dennoch arbeitet unser Gehirn das Gefahrenprogramm auch für Prüfungssituationen ab. Leidet ihr unter starker Prüfungsangst? Sobald ihr euch an euren Lernstoff setzt oder vor dem Prüfungsbogen steigt Panik in euch hoch und ihr erlebt einen Blackout, könnt euch nichts merken oder euch an das Gelernte erinnern? Zur Erklärung des Zusammenhangs zwischen Stress- und Leistungsniveau berufen wir uns auf das Yerkes-Dodson-Gesetz. Das Yerkes-Dodson-Gesetz: Das optimale Leistungsniveau haben wir bei einem mittleren Anspannungsniveau. Das heißt: Kuschelst du dich entspannt auf den Lieblingsplatz deiner Couch ist dein Leistungsniveau gering. Bist du voller Panik, weil du zu spät mit dem Lernen angefangen hast, ist dein Leistungsniveau ebenfalls gering. Schlussfolgerung: Wir müssen selbst dafür Sorgen, dass wir eine Prüfungssituation weder zu locker angehen, noch die Angst Überhand nimmt. This cookie right here proved a very important point for me this week You know how they/we always say breakfast is the most important meal of the day? It sets your day off on the right foot and gives your metabolism a head start? My daughter proved to me his week that eating crap in the morning sets you up for a very bad day. For Valentine’s Day I made my 3 loves some heart cookies. We don’t do a whole lot for this day but I thought some cookies would be nice. I left for work early on ❤️ day and left a note with the cookies for the kids. My daughter took this as a green light to have the cookie for breakfast along with her protein smoothie. She thanked me for the cookie which was nice but I didn’t know she ate if first thing u TIL after school when she came home with her ENTIRE lunch leftover. I asked her why she didn’t eat anything and she said she wasn’t hungry all day and didn’t feel like it!?! So I asked all the regular questions - are you feeling ok? - did something happen at school? - etc She replied “no I just wasn’t hungry” Well this NEVER happens! This girls usually comes home saying I didn’t put enough in her lunch! Lol I then learned about the breakfast she had and realized she didn’t eat because of all the sugar she had first thing In the morning! If you are the type of person that “doesn’t get hungry” I’d challenge you to take a look at what you do eat. Sugar laden foods often make us feel full and therefore we don’t eat the healthy choices in front of us. Instead we claim we aren’t hungry and carry on with our day lacking food and nutrients. So the moral of my story? Don’t eat crap in the morning (or anytime of the day for that matter). Keep your body fueled properly and it will work for you. You need to keep your machine well oiled and fed for it to work optimally. No sugar cereals No cookies No muffins No sugar! Needless to say I will not be leaving cookies out that early anymore !
Same girl, roughly the same smile but two very different lives and mindsets. As I approach the first anniversary of my failed suicide attempt, I wanted to share images which are roughly a year apart. In the before image, there's less real about me than I care to admit. Deeply insecure, desperate for validation and ready to disappear. In fact, this 'happy' selfie was taken just days before my suicide attempt and inevitable hospital stay where I finally got my diagnosis and accepted I was in dire need of help. The 'after' was taken last week. Pretty medicated but full of love, purpose and living a life full of real friendships and little to no insecurities. No longer do I seek validation from external sources. My smile is so real and I'm deeply grateful to feel so creative and to live a life so packed full of opportunity and hope. I still have the odd down day, of course! But that's only human. I finally feel I've got my mental health under control and it doesn't secretly control every moment of my life. I disassociate less, I panic less and I feel gratitude in so many different ways. Here's to the real smiles and to not really giving a damn what your happy looks like to others! #jemondhealth --- For the past three years after studying so much personal development and especially listening to Napoleon Hill and reading his book "Think & Grow Rich" over and over and over. I have realized that to reach my full potential and assist others in reaching their full potential there are three important things to have as a foundation. 1.Sound Health 2.Financial Abundance 3.Peace of Mind. I have met so many people who are struggling to get by because as we get older health is something we over look. I have networked with so many entrepreneurs and people with ideas who struggle because of lack of money to market, take care of business things I also have met so many people who are struggling to get by in life stuck in dept, loans and credit being jacked up. Lastly because many health and financial life is not stable they have no peace of mind. This movement is to assist others in changing their lives. Through helping them I will also help myself, just as somone is helping me. This is they system that many fail to do because life can get so tough.
This time last year I put my out of office on at work, walked out the doors, got home, put my PJ’s on and started maternity leave 🤰🏼. At the start of my pregnancy, this moment in time would have terrified me, I assumed that I would feel the following knowing that I was going to be giving birth soon: • Scared 😟 Nervous 😥 Anxious 😦 Afraid 😱 Frightened ⚠️ Worried 😕 Fearful❗️ Doubtful 🆘 Clueless 🤯 Confused 🤷♀️ Fragile 🥺 • Of course I would be happy and it would “be worth it” when I met my baby girl, but I would have to go through all of the above before I felt that happiness. Thankfully, I didn’t have to experience any of the above (apart from a few natural nerves) as I had attended a hypnobirthing class with Abby. Instead of feeling negative, I felt: • Excited 😆 Happy 😃 Optimistic 🌼 Positive ✅ Confident 💪🏻 Content 🧘🏼♀️ Calm 💆🏼♀️ Relaxed 😎 Joyful 😁 Well Prepared 😎 Supported 👫 • All throughout my maternity leave, right up until giving birth to Lucy I felt empowered (even telling Chris that I was super woman at one point 💪🏻). I genuinely have Hypnobirthing to thank for helping me to feel this way, I never knew that I could influence my feelings and birth so much. Also, I have myself and Chris to thank for recognising that we felt negative and clueless towards birth, finding a hypnobirthing class and practising all the techniques that we were taught (pat on the back for us 😂). • If you are feeling this way then please contact us, hypnobirthing will help you to go from feeling scared and anxious to feeling excited and well prepared to give birth to your baby. • Hannah 😘 x

It’s Saturday! How’s the 30 day challenge going for all of my challengers! What did you do this week to cleanse your mind! This was a busy week for me,but I still manage to GO VEGAN for 5 days, I got my workout ON, tried to do these complicated yoga 🧘♀️ positions along with some daily meditation and I must say it felt great! Its a mindset that we must have in order to see the change we must BE THE CHANGE! Nothing will change if WE DON’T! It’s about COMMITMENT & CONSISTENCY! Jij leidt je leven i.p.v. andersom. - Het leven kan vol afleidingen zitten, die je belemmeren om daar te komen wat je wilt. - Deze belemmeringen ontstaan voornamelijk in je hoofd, door alles wat je geleerd hebt, hoe je opgevoed bent, wat er sociaal maatschappelijk van je verwacht wordt, enz. Dat zijn de filters van ons hoofd (belemmerende overtuigingen in vaktaal). - ‘Reguliere’ coaching en therapie wijzen je een weg door de filters. Hoe deze om te buigen naar iets wat wel werkt, inzicht krijgen in wat je deed waar het vandaan komt. In ieder geval, dwars er doorheen. - Een designsessie bij mood-art, laat je een weg zien op een ander niveau. Achter de filters van het hoofd waar het hele plaatje al compleet is. Je ontdekt een nieuw pad, zowel fysiek als mentaal, zodat je weet waar je heen gaat, wat het je oplevert en hoe je daar kan komen. Gewoon zoals je bent in ontwikkeling van waar je wilt zijn en nu al ontspannen, gerust en gelukkig. - Geen geploeter meer door je verleden. Niet meer aanpassen aan van alles om je heen.
