So I guess this is what losing 100 pounds looks like. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I was in a bad spot in the picture to the left. I can honestly say I didn’t want to live anymore, not because I was extremely over weight but because of life. Life sucks sometimes! I let my circumstances control me and the product was weight gain, and extreme poor mental health. I am still not done I have more goals, but to see this picture actually brought tears to my eyes. I remembered the pain that girl felt and I never want to go back there again. Basically what I’m saying is your struggles and your circumstances don’t define you. They have ZERO control over you!

BUT.... _ ❗️Did you know that many Americans gain 5-7 pounds every year between Thanksgiving and the new year? ❌ 5-7 pounds isn’t much except when it stays on year after year (that’s 35 extra pounds in just 5 years!). _ Moral of the story? Don’t wait until the new year to start your goals or to get back on track! When I was struggling with various body image and health issues, I went to see a nutritionist. I still remember sitting in her office and briefly telling her why I was there (I wasn’t having my period, I had lost weight, and lost a lot of hair). She then connected me to a BMI machine and proceeded to tell me how many calories I should be eating every day. I was also given a list of foods that I should be eating. • Did she know I already counted my calories, and that 2800 calories/day sounded impossible? In my mind, I was going to get fat on that kind of diet… • I’m know she meant well, but as a vulnerable high schooler that’s not what I needed to hear. I needed someone to ask me more questions, to listen, and to understand why I was where I was. Walking away from that appointment I still didn’t understand why my body was where it was and what I needed to do moving forward. • In all of my confusion and insecurity, I decided to study nutrition in college. I don’t think I knew it then, but deep down I was probably looking for some answers. • And now, looking back, I can see how that experience of seeing a nutritionist helped shape me into who I am today. That experience taught me so much about the type of nutritionist that I want to be - someone that digs deeper than the surface, someone that goes beyond the numbers, and someone that seeks to create a safe and loving space for clients. I want people to walk away from me feeling empowered and understood, not scared and confused.
I preach to all my clients the importance of “breathing” while exercising. No matter what type of movement I’m performing, or what pace the exercise is done at, my breath is in unison with each rep. This allows me to be more comfortable, prevents injuries like hernias or strains on blood vessels, and back pain. Don’t try and be cute with your breath while you train. Breathe “OUT LOUD” to help you relax, and train for longer periods of time. • • I’m currently taking myself through a “17 Day Mass-Building Program” I have created. Today was Day 4! On day seventeen (New Years Eve), I will reveal my results and progress. On January 1st 2019, the program will be available to purchase along with a meal plan. How perfect breakfast the yogurt is😋 It is my first time of chia seed yogurt and I am so surprised, only one cup was enough. Chia seed made me so full!
