Even though the scale isn’t where I want it to be, I am so proud of the process I have made thus far! I’m trying to focus on the big picture instead of the scale number. . I recently had a doctor appointment with a new primary care physician. I brought up my anxiety and binge eating for the first time to a doctor. She suggested therapy and offered meds as an option. Lemon Chickpea Pasta with Feta, Almonds & Cranberries  I loved how fresh and full of different flavors this was! And I’m a big fan of chickpea pasta!  Ingredients: 2 oz. pasta of choice (I used chickpea pasta) Juice of 1 lemon 1 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil 1 Tbsp red wine vinegar  1 clove garlic, minced 1 Tbsp chopped green onions  1/8 cup feta cheese 1 Tbsp dried cranberries  1 Tbsp sliced almonds 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped Salt and pepper to taste  1. Cook pasta according to package directions. 2. Mix remaining ingredients together and toss with pasta.

I’m back!  Literally and figuratively! I took a bit of a IG hiatus the past few weeks and Matt and I just got home from an amazing vacation in Alaska! We hiked, explored, and ate our way through Alaska and to say it was the trip of a lifetime would be a serious under statement!  But as beautiful and amazing as Alaska was, I am so glad to be back home and on a regular routine!! Got back on track with my workouts this morning. Shopped and prepped so that I’m ready to go for the rest of the week. And I’ve been drinking alll of the water after 15 hours of travel yesterday.  That’s the beauty of throwing out the fad diets and accepting healthy living as a lifestyle. You are able to enjoy life, vacations included (#noguilt)and then just jump right back on track the very next day!  What summer get-a-ways are you taking this year?!

🤔 Should you be taking a probiotic supplement?  Well, that depends. Let’s first take a look at what probiotics are.  We know that probiotics are good for us and that they exist naturally in your gut. Probiotics are microorganisms that reside in our intestine and are a form of good bacteria that help to keep harmful bacteria in check, aid in proper digestion and nutrient absorption, and contribute to immune function.  Research has shown that Probiotics are helpful for an array of conditions ranging from asthma and allergies, to skin disorders and vaginal and urinary infections. Their job is to crowd out bad bacteria, preventing the bacteria’s ability to host in the body, which inhibits infection, inflammation and disease  Probiotics can also improve digestion. Having proper levels of probiotics in the gut can be effective in combating diarrhea, irritable bowel syndrome and inflammatory bowel disease. They also help the body to absorb nutrients, making sure your body receives the vitamins, minerals, fats and amino acids from the foods that you are consuming.  In other words, Probiotics are awesome! But, that still doesn’t answer the question, do you need to be taking probiotic supplements?  We really only need to supplement with them if they have been depleted.  So how do we know if they have been depleted? Here are some signs to look for:  Currently taking / Have taken Anti-biotics? Drinking water is very important for our body - if you are rather lazy, it can be helpful to improve your water balance with watery foods.  But eating watery foods has even more benefits.  The foods have a high water content and water has 0 calories. They should therefore be the main ingredient of the diet.  Due to the high volume of the food, the stomach fills up quickly and you consume very few calories. Vegetarian Teriyaki “chicken” ⁣@quornusa ⁣ I’m not a huge fan of meat replacements (unless it’s veggie bacon hehe) because most of them taste too real but I cooked this “chicken” with teriyaki & it was really good! ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Added the “chicken” to a saucepan, then a little water, & finally the teriyaki sauce ~ didn’t measure anything ~ ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Going to be adding this to salads & bowls 👅⁣⁣
HEALTHY WAY TO SATISFY YOUR SUGAR CRAVINGS! 🍫🥥 _________________________________________ - COCONUT CHUNKS - DARK CHOCOLATE 90% - CINNAMON OR RAW VANILLA POWDER - STEVIA (OPTIONAL) _________________________________________  1- PREHEAT OVEN AT 350°F.  2- SRINKLE CINNAMON ON COCONUT CHUNKS (ON PARCHEMIN SHEET). 3- COOK FOR 20 MINUTES/ 3 MINUTES TO BROIL OR UNTIL COCONUT GETS ROASTED.  4- MELT 3 SQUARES OF DARK CHOCOLATE AND POUR ON COCONUT CHUNKS.  5- REFRIGERATE FOR 15 MINUTES.  6- ENJOY IN MODERATION. I spent the morning working at a local coffee shop & it was SO nice to get out of my usual routine! The recommended amount to be consumed in a day is 1/4 teaspoon. I had been struggling to get the recommended amount every day. Today I added a 1/4 teaspoon to the salad I had for lunch. Meet @alexthomas0320 - Teacher for IgniteYou. He started dancing at the age of 6, when he joined @tr14ers_ . It changed his life completely in a positive way. He went to every Ftiday session and at the age of thirteen he was offered the chance to become a Leader for the Tr14ers, to choreograph/teach and perform; to become a role model to the younger kids that joined there. He began learning and experiencing new styles and realised that he not only wanted to continue learning but wanted to build a career and teach full time.  From performing and teaching at tr14ers in various places around the country. He was recognised by a Company @4fsdance where they offered him a place in their competing team, by doing this he has gained knowledge in the competing world as well as growing his confidence to a professional standard. He has completed dance qualifications and is looking forward to expanding his knowledge as well as experience.  He wanted to work for IgniteYou as a Hip Hop teacher/dancer as it is another way of teaching that enabled him to be completely Inclusive. Knowing that everyone is enjoying the classes he teaches is the best feeling for Alex, that not only keeps the participants motivated, but also himself. This was one of the yummiest ideas! 💡😋I've been thinking about adding black beans to a smoothie and I am so glad I finally tried it! This bowl was nut butter chocolate-y heaven! 🥜🍫You have to try!!! 😋🙌🏻 DeAts👇🏼 1 frozen banana  1 cup frozen colorful sweet potatoes @stahlbushislandfarms  3 tablespoons CHILLED organic black beans (I drained them and had them in fridge overnight)  Few frozen blueberries  1 tablespoon PB 1 tablespoon cocoa with maca @natierrasuperfoods  Big splash of toasted coconut almond milk  Blend in @vitamix blender  Pour in bowl, topped ours with Ezekiel cereal @foodforlifebaking , organic blueberries @driscollsberry , & cocoa nibs @navitasorganics Mix it all up and enjoy! 😋✨ . . . . . . . . .🥜🍫 . . . . . . .
