Happy Wednesday! Do you have any leftover chicken stashed away in your fridge? Maybe some zucchini you’re not in the mood to spiralize? Then this is the dish to make tonight! It’s so easy to toss together and the fresh basil gives it an Italian kick that we love. 🍰Le claf'coco/banane 🍰  Repost ➡️ @bouclettefit  Aujourd'hui je vous présente le claf'coco banane 🍌  Une recette originale, saine et nutritive. Elle sera idéal au petit déjeuner ou en en-cas ☺️ Voici donc les ingrédients nécessaires et la recette.  Ingrédients : . 4 œufs bio . 50g de sirop d'agave ou sucrant de votre choix ( @delisucre_  pour moi ) .  110g de farine de coco . 100g de compote SSA . 1 sachet de sucre vanillé . 1 cas de rhum . 400g de lait de coco . 2 bananes  Recette :  1️⃣ . Dans un saladier battre les œufs et y ajouter le sirop d'agave, ou sucrant de votre choix ( délisucre pour moi )  2️⃣. Ajoute ensuite la compote, le sucre vanillé, le rhum et la farine et bien mélanger,  3️⃣. Ajoute le lait de coco et mélanger afin d'obtenir un mélange homogène,  4️⃣. Coupe les bananes en rondelles et dépose les au fond du moule en silicone,  5️⃣. Verse la préparation sur les bananes,  6️⃣ Cuire au four 30/35 min à 180 degré. Broken Forearm 💔💪😥 . This young patient got injured after his back foot slipped and he landed on his arm. . The injury may be sustained from a direct blow or an indirect injury involving a bending or rotational force placed on the forearm. . The patient with a midshaft forearm fracture typically complains of pain, and possibly deformity, at the site immediately following trauma. The mechanism involves either low energy (eg, ground-level fall, especially in older adults) or relatively high energy (eg, motor vehicle accident, collision during sporting event). Physical examination begins with visual inspection, which may reveal swelling and an obvious deformity, suggesting a displaced fracture, or a wound overlying the fracture site (ie, open fracture) requiring immediate surgical evaluation. Range of motion may be limited due to pain, and testing should be performed gently, judiciously, and only if there are no obvious signs of displaced fracture or dislocation. . In cases of suspected midshaft forearm fracture, anteroposterior and lateral radiographs showing the entire length of the radius and ulna are usually diagnostic. Due to significant displacement, the initial treatment is closed reduction that is attempted when fracture angulation exceeds 10 degrees or displacement exceeds 50%. . Reduction involves placing the patient’s affected arm in finger traps while the brachium is secured with a strap or weights. This setup allows for ready manipulation of the forearm and rapid splinting once reduction is achieved. After satisfactory alignment is achieved, the fractured arm is placed in a long-arm posterior splint with the elbow at 90 degrees and the wrist in neutral (ie, without supination or pronation) and slight extension for 7 to 10 days. . After the period of immobilizaion, the cast or splint is removed, and the patient is placed in a functional forearm brace for four to six more weeks. The functional brace, which is generally custom-made to fit the

Most fruit proposes a plethora of vitamins and minerals to it’s consumer. And whilst the cringeworthy term, ‘nature’s candy’ is descriptively tragic, fruit is a source of sweet tasting whole food than offers micronutrients for overall health, fibre for satiety and water for hydration. . As you can see, each fruit has a different macro-nutritional make up. Some have more sugar, others have less. Some have more calories, others have less. And (not displayed here), some have more fibre, whilst others have less. . It is worth noting that sugar extracted from fruit will have the exact same metabolic result as sugar extracted from a snickers. But the combination of sugar and fibre consumed via a whole food (in this case fruit) makes it more likely to satisfy one’s hunger more than food comprising of sugar and minimal fibre. However, one’s attainment of satiety will differ from another’s. . Fruit is a more nutritious, calorie sparse source of energy than confectionary. But it is important to realise that caloric values of any food count towards overall energy balance. Fibre density per calories consumed may make one ‘feel fuller’ and therefore aid adherence to overall energy targets - especially calorie deficits. . Thus, consuming any item of ‘sweet’ tasting food is a valid option, but those which provide more satiety after consumption may support one’s energy balance more, whilst also delivering a host of nutritious advantages at the same time. 🤓 . Therefore, instead of lambasting somebody (or yourself) for choosing a Big Mac over a kale salad, why not become more aware of what consumption of their food means in simple terms. Perhaps this awareness will consequentially mean that a higher quality food is selected instead in order to fit your plan better, or simply that you are more aware that you can actually fit these items into your current, flexible diet. . Since it’s birth in a suburb of Johannesburg in 1987, the delectable simplicity of Nando’s flame grilled chicken has since taken the world over. Nando’s is the eatery of choice for many, regardless of their health and fitness goal. . In comparison to the likes of McDonald’s, the perception of chicken and a plethora of nutritious foods may lead one to believe that Nando’s is more suitable for their fat loss goal. It may well be. But instances such as the summation of 1/2 a peri peri houmous starter, 10 wings, regular chips, macho peas, extra sauce and a coke = a net caloric intake of 2184 nutritious calories. But nonetheless... 2184 calories. . This likely exceeds ‘would-be’ calories consumed in a parallel McDonald’s visit. Whilst McDonald’s produce is mostly calorie dense, options are limited in comparison to Nando’s abundantly evident choice of starters, mains, sides and desserts, not to mention it’s an actual restaurant. This makes selection of multiple items more likely. . That said, Nando’s is enjoyed by millions - this will never change. Awareness of total energy consumed can therefore allow one to facilitate multiple Nando’s excursions into a successful diet. Once the hard nutritional facts of a Nando’s meal are grasped, one can adjust prior and subsequent nutritional criteria so that they can enjoy one of their favourite treats in happiness. Additionally, free from guilt and with serene knowledge that they are still progressing with their goal. . Instead it is simply the accumulation of several of their menu items in one place. The aim is therefore that you objectively become more aware of the simple nutritional information regarding these items. . Burger King has existed for decades. This is undoubtedly because there is still an appetite to consume their products. Whilst their items are not particularly nutrient dense, they are still legitimate items of food. Furthermore, they are enjoyed by millions. . Instead of basing opinion on subjective metaphors and closed minded assumptions that fast food will send you to hospital, consider a practical approach instead. If one enjoys Burger King then they must eat Burger King. If one doesn’t enjoy Burger King then they must avoid Burger King. If one enjoys Burger King and wants to achieve a compositional goal, awareness of information and coordinated action based on that information is a good idea to support that goal. Awareness of fact is of more use that presumptuous heresy. . Whilst the early 2000s brought about mass hysteria in terms of fast food and it’s negative effect on health, most references were anecdotal and confined to extremely bias conditions. One example can be found in the ‘Supersize Me’ documentary in 2004. It professed the negative impact McDonald’s had on the subjects health. But the subject consumed nothing but McDonald’s food for one whole month. Whilst the findings may have been accurate, they are rendered irrelevant to those who don’t consume 90+ McDonald’s meals per month. . For optimal health, excessive consumption of fast food is not going to be beneficial. But if consumption is moderate, composition is favourable and nutrient intake is sufficient, it can have a position in a measured, well balanced diet if it’s enjoyed
How Does Food Impact Health? 🤔🤯 . The food we eat gives our bodies the "information" and materials they need to function properly. If we don't get the right information, our metabolic processes suffer and our health declines. If we get too much food, or food that gives our bodies the wrong instructions, we can become overweight, undernourished, and at risk for the development of diseases and conditions, such as arthritis, diabetes, and heart disease. In short, what we eat is central to our health.  Consider that in light of Webster's definition of medicine: "The science and art dealing with the maintenance of health and the prevention, alleviation, or cure of disease."
