The water will help to remove any toxins before your first meal of the day. . . 2) Before a meal Drink one glass of water 30 minutes before a meal to help digestion. Mango 🥭: Did you know these 8 Health Benefits of this awsome fruit? 1.  Prevents Cancer:  Research has shown antioxidant compounds in mango fruit have been found to protect against colon, breast, leukemia and prostate cancers. These compounds include quercetin, isoquercitrin, astragalin, fisetin, gallic acid and methylgallat, as well as the abundant enzymes. 2.  Lowers Cholesterol:  The high levels of fiber, pectin and vitamin C help to lower serum cholesterol levels, specifically Low-Density Lipoprotein (the bad stuff). 3.  Clears the Skin:  Can be used both internally and externally for the skin. Mangos help clear clogged pores and eliminate pimples. 4.  Improves Eye Health:  One cup of sliced mangoes supplies 25 percent of the needed daily value of vitamin A, which promotes good eyesight and prevents night blindness and dry eyes. 5.  Alkalizes the Whole Body: The tartaric acid, malic acid, and a trace of citric acid found in the fruit help to maintain the alkali reserve of the body. 6. May Help with Diabetes:  Mango leaves help normalize insulin levels in the blood. The traditional home remedy involves boiling leaves in water, soaking through the night and then consuming the filtered decoction in the morning. Mango fruit also has a relatively low glycemic index (41-60) so moderate quantities will not spike your sugar levels. 7. Promotes Healthy Sex:  Mangos are a great source of vitamin E. Even though the popular connection between sex drive and vitamin E was originally created by a mistaken generalization on rat studies, further research has shown balanced proper amounts (from whole foods) does help. 8. Improves Digestion:  Papayas are not the only fruit that contain enzymes for breaking down protein. There are several fruits, including mangoes, which have this healthful quality. The fiber in mangos also helps digestion and elimination. Do you like this kind of content? If yes please make sure to share 📧, comment ⌨ and
Grapes 🍇: That fruit is extremly awsome ! Here are just FIVE and a half 💁🏻‍♂️ HINTS ! There are way more healthbenefits ! 1. Rejuventates the Skin Filled with Vitamin C and antioxidants, grapes can help to revitalize your skin. In fact, they can even protect your skin from cancer-causing ultraviolet radiation and free radicals that can, on a lesser scale, cause wrinkles and dark spots. The added Vitamin C is necessary for your skin to form collagen, which helps give your face that youthful firmness. 2. Benefits the Brain Resveratrol is one health benefit of grapes that continues to impress! Studies by the University of Switzerland saw that the compound helps to fight against plaques and free radicals that can harm your brain and potentially cause Alzheimer’s. It also helps to increase blood flow to the brain, which increases your mental dexterity. 3. Boosts Energy The complex carbohydrates found in grapes can give you a much-needed energy boost. Often enjoyed by runners, grapes are known by those in-the-know as a source of almost instant energy. They’re the perfect pre-workout snack! 4. Promotes a Healthy Heart The health benefits of grapes extend to your heart (and that’s why many people say red wine is heart-healthy!). To get down to the nitty-gritty, grapes contain polyphenols that suppress atherosclerosis. What is that? Just a fancy term for a type of heart disease that results from buildup of cholesterol in the artery walls of the heart and brain — no good! 5. Brightens Eyes The Vitamin A and lutein found in grapes can boost your eye health. While you’re probably familiar with Vitamin A, you may not be so much so with lutein. This is a substance found in a variety of veggies as well, and is collected by your retinas as a means to protect themselves against free radicals, which can cause unnecessary stress, damage and degeneration. According to a study led by researchers at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute at the University of
Cherry 🍒: . Did you know this 6 facts about cherries? Summer is coming so share this HINT with you friends and favorites! 🤓 . @medicalhint . 1. Protects Against Diabetes Sweet cherries have a low glycemic index of 22 — lower than apricots (57), grapes (46), peaches (42), blueberries (40) or plums (39). This makes them a better snack than many other fruits, especially for diabetics. . 2. Promotes Better Sleep Tossing and turning at night? Cherry juice to the rescue! Drink cherry juice 30 minutes after waking and 30 minutes before your evening meal. In a study, participants boosted their melatonin intake by following this routine. Cherries are a good source of melatonin, which helps us regulate our sleep cycles. Cherries have also been found to help with jet lag. Note: there is a higher level of melatonin in tart cherries compared to sweet cherries. . 3. Decreases Belly Fat Researchers found that rats who were fed whole tart cherry powder, in a high fat diet, didn’t gain as much weight or body fat as rats who did not eat tart cherry powder. . 4. Helps Ward Off Alzheimer’s The Alzheimer’s Association includes cherries as one of the memory boosting foods because they are rich in antioxidants. . 5. Reduces Risk of Stroke Tart cherries provide cardiovascular benefits. The anthocyanins, which are the pigments giving tart cherries its red color, may activate PPAR which regulates genes involved in fat and glucose metabolism. This reduces the risk of high cholesterol, blood pressure and diabetes, according to research from the University of Michigan Health System. . 6. Slows the Aging of Skin Cherries have the highest antioxidant level of any fruit. Antioxidants help the body fight the free radicals that make us look old. Drinking one glass of tart cherry juice daily slows down the aging process, according to Scientists from the Michigan State University. Cherry juice is also recommended as an alternative treatment for other skin conditions. .

Protein 🥩🥜 . Tag a friend that needs this! Follow @medicalhint for daily healthy/helpful tips! 😁 A good amount of foods have protein in them, but the crucial aspect in achieving your optimal intake is in consuming foods with especially high amounts of it, but with lower amounts of other macros 👇🏻 . 💡 For example, lean chicken usually has somewhere around 20g of protein per 3-4 oz, typically with no carbs and very little fat... . 🌰 Almonds are also somewhat high in protein. BUT, would I substitute chicken in my meal with almonds because of that reason? 🤔 . 👎🏼 Probably not, because not only are they not as high in protein, but they're also extremely high in fat, making them less ideal, and you can rather use those calories on other foods 🍩 . 🤯 The idea of this chart, which is not ALL-inclusive, but definitely provides some solid options, is to show you how wide of a range you really have in choices for protein, assuming you take all of their total calories/macros into consideration before eating them. . 👑 Whether you're a carnivore, vegan, pescatarian, just lookin for something tasty, or are in a rush, I promise you there's a protein-dense food out there for ya 🤓✌🏼 . Get in shape 😌🧘‍♀️🏋🏻‍♂️ So you want to get in shape? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ You want to have more energy and feel more confident in your body? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Achieving these things goes far deeper than just "Hey Daniel, here's a nutrition plan and here's an exercise program." ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The sad reality is that most people cannot see this. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Why? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Because it's not sexy. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It doesn't 'sell'. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It's not what people want to hear. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ People want an easy way to get the result. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ There are deep roots that are keeping you planted inside of your current space which has ultimately been adopted from either your current environment, or past environment/life events. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The "unsexy" stuff you need to have in place to transform your body are: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 1. A customized plan - I can't say this enough. Each person is different, has a different body, lifestyle, needs, schedule, food preferences. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 2. Accountability - You need to hold yourself accountable to the goals you set yourself, wheter that is from a friend, partner or coach. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 3. Routines - What do billionaires practice in the morning? Different steps of their morning routine. This works hand in hand with point 1. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 4. Avoiding Information Overload - We have more information than ever, yet we have more overweight people than ever. If information would be the answer, we would all have abs and be billionaires as Derek Siver says. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Have the 4 and you win. Long-term. What do you think? Broken Forearm 💔💪😥 . This young patient got injured after his back foot slipped and he landed on his arm. . The injury may be sustained from a direct blow or an indirect injury involving a bending or rotational force placed on the forearm. . The patient with a midshaft forearm fracture typically complains of pain, and possibly deformity, at the site immediately following trauma. The mechanism involves either low energy (eg, ground-level fall, especially in older adults) or relatively high energy (eg, motor vehicle accident, collision during sporting event). Physical examination begins with visual inspection, which may reveal swelling and an obvious deformity, suggesting a displaced fracture, or a wound overlying the fracture site (ie, open fracture) requiring immediate surgical evaluation. Range of motion may be limited due to pain, and testing should be performed gently, judiciously, and only if there are no obvious signs of displaced fracture or dislocation. . In cases of suspected midshaft forearm fracture, anteroposterior and lateral radiographs showing the entire length of the radius and ulna are usually diagnostic. Due to significant displacement, the initial treatment is closed reduction that is attempted when fracture angulation exceeds 10 degrees or displacement exceeds 50%. . Reduction involves placing the patient’s affected arm in finger traps while the brachium is secured with a strap or weights. This setup allows for ready manipulation of the forearm and rapid splinting once reduction is achieved. After satisfactory alignment is achieved, the fractured arm is placed in a long-arm posterior splint with the elbow at 90 degrees and the wrist in neutral (ie, without supination or pronation) and slight extension for 7 to 10 days. . After the period of immobilizaion, the cast or splint is removed, and the patient is placed in a functional forearm brace for four to six more weeks. The functional brace, which is generally custom-made to fit the
Long-Term Energy ⌛💪😌 . If you want to feel energetic all day, you need to find sources of real energy. I say REAL, because what people and ads often sell you is fake energy. . All those countless coffees, energy drinks, pills and supplements just give you a short energy spike for a couple of hours or even less, and after the tide goes out, you feel tired again. . You need to solve a problem at its root, or better say roots, because there are multiple reasons why you feel always tired. Lack of sleep, mindless eating, weak body, chronic stress - all these problems need solutions. When you find the solutions, your energy will come back to you. . Fruit Calories 🍓🍅🥝🥑🍋🥭 . After showing you the calories of famous products from different Fastfood restaurants 🍔🍟🥤 the last days, today I'm going to show you some awsome alternatives which are low in calories but very high in nutritions and taste! 😌😋😁 . Tag ⌨ a friend and and be a #littledoc #littledocs 👩‍⚕️👨‍⚕️ hit save to stay informed on the calorie and sugar quantities within this extensive list of fruits. . Most fruit proposes a plethora of vitamins and minerals to it’s consumer. And whilst the cringeworthy term, ‘nature’s candy’ is descriptively tragic, fruit is a source of sweet tasting whole food than offers micronutrients for overall health, fibre for satiety and water for hydration. . As you can see, each fruit has a different macro-nutritional make up. Some have more sugar, others have less. Some have more calories, others have less. And (not displayed here), some have more fibre, whilst others have less. . It is worth noting that sugar extracted from fruit will have the exact same metabolic result as sugar extracted from a snickers. But the combination of sugar and fibre consumed via a whole food (in this case fruit) makes it more likely to satisfy one’s hunger more than food comprising of sugar and minimal fibre. However, one’s attainment of satiety will differ from another’s. . Fruit is a more nutritious, calorie sparse source of energy than confectionary. But it is important to realise that caloric values of any food count towards overall energy balance. Fibre density per calories consumed may make one ‘feel fuller’ and therefore aid adherence to overall energy targets - especially calorie deficits. . Thus, consuming any item of ‘sweet’ tasting food is a valid option, but those which provide more satiety after consumption may support one’s energy balance more, whilst also delivering a host of nutritious advantages at the same time. 🤓 . McDonald's 🍟🍔🥤 . Tag a McDonald’s lover and be #littledoc #littledocs 👩‍⚕️👨‍⚕️, hit save and keep both you and your friends informed on the calorie values of McDonald's! . Also make sure to follow 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ @medicalhint . Whilst most McDonald’s item’s ingredients lack the quality and nutrient density of a whole foods, I think most of us already know this. But the pertinent thing here is that people enjoy Macdonald’s. And people will consume their items now and for years to come. This is evident by the ferocity in which Macdonald’s has dominated the fast food market for decades. . Therefore, instead of lambasting somebody (or yourself) for choosing a Big Mac over a kale salad, why not become more aware of what consumption of their food means in simple terms. Perhaps this awareness will consequentially mean that a higher quality food is selected instead in order to fit your plan better, or simply that you are more aware that you can actually fit these items into your current, flexible diet. . As you can see, I’ve listed these items in singularity, but when combined into a meal (and with a sugary drink), the calorie value can rise fairly high for the volume of food consumed. . follow 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ @medicalhint . . . . . Nando's calories 🍗🍔🍟 . hit save to stay informed on your favourite Nando’s items 🤓😌 . Since it’s birth in a suburb of Johannesburg in 1987, the delectable simplicity of Nando’s flame grilled chicken has since taken the world over. Nando’s is the eatery of choice for many, regardless of their health and fitness goal. . In comparison to the likes of McDonald’s, the perception of chicken and a plethora of nutritious foods may lead one to believe that Nando’s is more suitable for their fat loss goal. It may well be. But instances such as the summation of 1/2 a peri peri houmous starter, 10 wings, regular chips, macho peas, extra sauce and a coke = a net caloric intake of 2184 nutritious calories. But nonetheless... 2184 calories. . This likely exceeds ‘would-be’ calories consumed in a parallel McDonald’s visit. Whilst McDonald’s produce is mostly calorie dense, options are limited in comparison to Nando’s abundantly evident choice of starters, mains, sides and desserts, not to mention it’s an actual restaurant. This makes selection of multiple items more likely. . That said, Nando’s is enjoyed by millions - this will never change. Awareness of total energy consumed can therefore allow one to facilitate multiple Nando’s excursions into a successful diet. Once the hard nutritional facts of a Nando’s meal are grasped, one can adjust prior and subsequent nutritional criteria so that they can enjoy one of their favourite treats in happiness. Additionally, free from guilt and with serene knowledge that they are still progressing with their goal. . Burger King calories 🍔👑😳 . . save 🧷 this post and stay informed 💡 on these products 🤴 . This particular post is not an endorsement of Burger King as much as it isn’t a shaming. Instead it is simply the accumulation of several of their menu items in one place. The aim is therefore that you objectively become more aware of the simple nutritional information regarding these items. . Burger King has existed for decades. This is undoubtedly because there is still an appetite to consume their products. Whilst their items are not particularly nutrient dense, they are still legitimate items of food. Furthermore, they are enjoyed by millions. . Instead of basing opinion on subjective metaphors and closed minded assumptions that fast food will send you to hospital, consider a practical approach instead. If one enjoys Burger King then they must eat Burger King. If one doesn’t enjoy Burger King then they must avoid Burger King. If one enjoys Burger King and wants to achieve a compositional goal, awareness of information and coordinated action based on that information is a good idea to support that goal. Awareness of fact is of more use that presumptuous heresy. . Whilst the early 2000s brought about mass hysteria in terms of fast food and it’s negative effect on health, most references were anecdotal and confined to extremely bias conditions. One example can be found in the ‘Supersize Me’ documentary in 2004. It professed the negative impact McDonald’s had on the subjects health. But the subject consumed nothing but McDonald’s food for one whole month. Whilst the findings may have been accurate, they are rendered irrelevant to those who don’t consume 90+ McDonald’s meals per month. . For optimal health, excessive consumption of fast food is not going to be beneficial. But if consumption is moderate, composition is favourable and nutrient intake is sufficient, it can have a position in a measured, well balanced diet if it’s enjoyed
How Does Food Impact Health? 🤔🤯 . The food we eat gives our bodies the "information" and materials they need to function properly. If we don't get the right information, our metabolic processes suffer and our health declines. If we get too much food, or food that gives our bodies the wrong instructions, we can become overweight, undernourished, and at risk for the development of diseases and conditions, such as arthritis, diabetes, and heart disease. In short, what we eat is central to our health.  Consider that in light of Webster's definition of medicine: "The science and art dealing with the maintenance of health and the prevention, alleviation, or cure of disease." Food acts as medicine to maintain, prevent, and treat disease. 😷💊🏥😌 . Do you like this kind of content? Kiwi: 🥝😍 Health benefits Kiwis not only taste amazing but are packed with a ton of nutrients including folate, potassium, vitamin K, vitamin E, phytochemicals, and more. Here are three healthful reasons to treat yourself to a serving: . 1. It helps maintain a healthy weight . Kiwis are a good source of dietary fiber, which can help you feel satiated i.e. achieve a feeling a fullness. Dietitians say it is a good idea to eat the skin of the fruit as well since it contains up to 50 percent of the fiber content. And while rich is fiber, the fruit is low in calories, sugar, and fat. A single large kiwi is estimated to contain only 55 to 60 calories while a medium-size kiwi offers around 7 grams of sugar, just a third of the amount found in a single apple. With all these qualities combined, the fruit can be consumed as a sweet yet healthful snack. Experts also include it among their options for the best foods to consume after a workout session. . . 2. It may reduce blood pressure levels . In a study from 2011, participants with slightly high levels of blood pressure were instructed to eat either three kiwis or one apple a day. At the end of the study period, the ones who consumed were found to have lower systolic blood pressure, likely due to their antioxidant properties.  However, the researchers emphasized moderate consumption and cautioned against thinking of the fruit as a solution on its own. "Kiwi is not the wonder fruit, but certainly adding kiwi to your diet can help decrease mildly high blood pressure levels," said Dr. Suzanne Steinbaum, a preventive cardiologist with Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City. . 3. It gives your immune system a boost Kiwis are packed with nutrients, especially Vitamin C, which is known to support various cellular functions that contribute toward a healthy immune system.
