Yesterday’s strength complex @ 70% worked up to 3 sets at 165lb. Weightlifting making the biggest difference, continuously working with heavy loads, since when did this start to feel like light weight LOL. It’s tempting to easily add more weight then your percentages but remember that they are part of the process to continue making gains, so stick to them! It’s been awhile and i’m pretty excited for new maxes, so we shall see what they will be. I gave myself a goal of hitting a 230lb clean or close to it, i feel great and I’m confident and i have the end of the year to do so! Most people are afraid or unwilling to demand enough of themselves and take the easy road, the path of least resistance. But struggling and suffering are the essence of a life worth living. If you're not pushing yourself beyond the comfort zone, if you're not constantly demanding more from yourself--expanding and learning as you go--your choosing a numb existence. Your denying yourself an extraordinary trip.
Being Muslim it is our duty to follow the Sunnah of Prophet (SAW) and try to show good Akhlaq towards all people no matter one is Muslim or non-Muslim. No matter how you look like. Good Akhlaq also includes the sincerity, honesty, and truthfulness in doing the acts of worship like Charity, Salah, Quran recitation, and Tawbah. We should approach Allah (SWT) with beautiful etiquettes for Allah loves the one with good conduct. One’s good character and good Akhlaq are the reasons that take him closer to Allah which ultimately takes us closer to Jannah. A pure heart is close to all that is good and is distant from all that is evil. It combines good manners and noble moral character, just as a pond keeps pure water. It also removes bad manners just as the bellows remove impurities from gold and silver. A person with a clean heart is surrounded with Allah’s mercy, care, protection, and guidance to success. Allah, Exalted be He, says: "So keep your duty to Allah and fear Him as much as you can; listen and obey, and spend in charity; that is better for yourselves. And whosoever is saved from his own covetousness, then they are the successful." (At-Taghabun: 16) May Allah bless you and me with the Great Qur’an and make us benefit from its verses and wise words and benefit from the guidance and right sayings of the Imam of all Messengers. I ask forgiveness of Allah for myself and for you, and for all Muslims for any sin we have committed. Ask Allah for forgiveness. He is the most Forgiving, the Most Merciful. Eighteen years ago today, during my first ever time on stage, was horribly booed off @carolinesonbway by an all black audience during Hot 97's Star and Buckwild's amateur contest. Next to burning down my apartment, it could be the worst day of my life. I gathered my spirits and under the advice of @realdlhughley I went to @stressfactory in New Brunswick. While it was still awful, I managed to get a few chuckles here and there and I was hooked. I met DL when I interned at Late Night With Conan O'Brien. He told me to go to a "white" comedy club because "performing in front of black people was hard." I somehow kept at it and have managed to get better. I've been blessed to see the world and meet many wonderful people because of comedy. I may not be where I want to be in my career, but it sure beats sitting behind a desk slaving away for some hothead boss in a suit. Also, the ride ain't over. To 18 years in comedy! 🍻 . . . . #anniversary#comedyanniversary#comedy#standup#standupcomedy#perserverance#dontquit#keepatit#dontstop#justquit
Your faith and your courage are directly connected! In fact you could remove courage from any sentence and add faith and the context will still be the same! You can do all things! Do you believe that? It's sooo true! There is nothing that is impossible and you have the power to tap into that faith at any point. Have faith, have courage and BELIEVE! “...Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”” Matthew 17:20 ▫️ ▫️ ▫️ Go forth & conquer💪🏾 ▫️ ▫️ ▫️ Follow me on #instagram @Lady_CKC ❤️
Two #veterans I knew well have committed suicide (quite possibly more); both because they weren’t getting the RIGHT help. The wrong help can be JUST AS detrimental to a #vet as no help at all. These thoughts ran through my head yesterday at the #va. While I appreciate the info passed at yesterday’s conference (particularly from @dysautonomiaintl) it is excruciating, as a #veteran with #dysautonomia secondary to #tbi, to sit in the very #hospital not meeting my needs and listen to words being spoken while no action has been taken for the VA patients with complex #autonomicdysfunction cases. This “awareness” seems for show. If the squeaky wheel gets no oil, the silent wheel ends up part of the 20 #veteranssuicideawareness per day statistic. I speak for the silent more than I do for myself; I know I will continue to find a way, continuing to reinvent the wheel to do so. #dysautonomia is not to be taken lightly, nor is the quality of life of veterans with “under the radar” and unseen issues. Turn the cameras and microphones off and do the work for your dysautonomia patients. Let their improved situations be the awareness raised. I have witnessed such dysfunction from 2014-2019 at the @vanyharbor and pointed specifics out TO PROVIDERS rather than the public in hope of change swift enough to save lives. In my case, service didn’t effect my overall mental health, hell, a brain injury miraculously didn’t, but the inefficiency of the two urban VA systems I’ve been exposed to sure have. I am ok: This is in no way a cry for help, but my heart aches for those who don’t even know their rights or what to ask for.
