“Every time I think back on the week I spent in Himachal, apart from the work I did and the places I visited - the memories of the people DIFF gifted me with never ever fails at making me smile...” #diff2017 volunteer @trapezium_ shares her #storiesfromthemountains . . . #diff2018#diffindia#dharamshala#dharamshaladiaries#indiefilmfest ・・・ Almost about a year ago, after an intense sickness bout, I headed to volunteer for the Dharamshala International Film Festival up in the Himachal mountains. Not only did I get to write more than I had imagined I would, but I also met some of the most amazingly talented people pouring their hearts out over making this festival a success. One of the people I got to interview and have a long evening conversation with was Tsewang- this internationally acclaimed Thangka artist who spent most of his youth delving deep into the intricacies of the art and creating masterpieces that adorn quite a few monasteries in HP itself, apart from which he also went on and held exhibitions all around the world. Tsewang wasn't very articulate with everything he wanted to express, but he carried an album with him, and a few mementos that marked some of the most important parts of his life. He made me his WhatsApp friend instantly, and once in every few months, he makes sure he drops me a text or a 'good morning' image. DIFF didn't only help me regain a ton of my positivity, it also ran me into some of the most wonderful people of my life. It was so beautiful to have come across all of the good vibes, and to have gotten to witness the crazy amount of brilliance that a bunch of people can create once they join hands and swear by it. Every time I think back on the week I spent in Himachal, apart from the work I did and the places I visited- the memories of the people DIFF gifted me with never ever fails at making me smile (reallly) wide. 💜 (If you're unaware of what Thangka art is, please please look it up!! And if you are planning to
