Ward round was pretty uneventful yesterday as the consultant is on leave so they won’t make changes or decisions without him. Pointless having a ward round really. Nice of him to get admin to send a letter out saying he is wanting to renew my section before he buggered off 😔 individual therapy was also kind of uneventful but I have to do a bunch of chain analysis’ before next week as homework.  I’m talking to OT later to try and get a better timetable with activities more suited to me. Apparently there is a new ward timetable coming in next week so I hope it’s better than this last one.  I did do some work with the recovery college again yesterday and have done some photo editing for it this morning. I get on really well with the lady in charge of it so it doesn’t feel like a chore. I really enjoy what we are doing and it’s not even fully up and running yet, but as resident lead I am co-facilitating 😁 it’s nice to be able to utilise the knowledge and skills I learnt as an instructor and lecturer as well as my degree. Day 18. Research a new CBT/DBT/ACT technique or coping skills. ☆ I've actually used all these skills before I know they were skills or what I was doing. It is about feeling, allowing it, seeing how it affects yourself, learning to move around in life with those feelings and thoughts (let's throw that in there too) and not allowing them to be your life. It's getting over the fear of dealing with stuff that happened in your past. Let it come and deal with. These are all things that you can do alone but everyone should have a therapist. We all need someone on the outside who isn't bias and straight up with what is happen and how to deal with it. Just this year i dealt with something that I didn't even want to believe happened. I am now free of it. I can say that what happened to me like it's nothing while others get upset. Why can I do that? How can I not be upset? Because I spent 35 years being upset. I faced it, I named it, I spoke about it and yes I was beyond upset, I was hurt, as mom I couldn't even imagine, I felt it all and it is in the past. I can't change it but I let it fuel me. I now fight for children because of it. I now speak up about being women in a man's world which should no longer be a thing and ain't no man going to tell me different. I let it fuel change. This is why I can speak about it as it is nothing.
