Have you heard? Songstress, actress, author, & entrepreneur, Jennifer Lopez, will receive the Fashion Icon Award at the 2019 CFDA Awards. @jlo (who can be credited with the invention of Google images because of her red carpet debut the chiffon @versace dress pictured at the 42nd Grammy Awards in 2000) has been known for her sexy chic style and knockout red carpet moments. Congratulations are in order for this style icon. 💎
What is your bookish unpopular opinion? Spill it! 😛 Milk & Honey and The Night Circus is a bit overrated. Also, yes I only read two Harry Potter’s books and not planning to continue. (Please don’t hate me on these) . Also!!! EVERYBODY PLEASE READ THIS BOOK BECAUSE IT IS SOOOOOO UNDERRATED! It’s sooo good and I loved it A LOT! ♥️ . Have a lovely Easter week! You have a holiday too right? :)

Repeatedly told my husband, the week before our vacation started, that two luggages (one large and one medium sized) was not going to be enough for 2 adults and 1 infant. Ended up buying another luggage on our trip 🤷🏻♀️ I didn’t even pack much for this trip nor did I buy any new outfits 😂
The only kind of stress that I'm entertaining in my life right now is the stress I get in raising up a tiny, little boss baby which is a good kind of stress anyway because I get to learn and to grow and to feel like a real adult. I am learning to shrugged off the things I have no control over my life.. so here I am dressing up my best like Paris Hilton not for anyone else but for myself because giving my best suit forward makes me happy! 😉

Book Review: The Accident by Gail Schimmel (#gifted). ____________________________________________ Plot: Since The Accident, Catherine is emotionally detached from her life and from her adult daughter, Julia. Julia, on the other hand, is having an affair with her best friend's husband. ____________________________________________ My Thoughts: to be honest, I'm not a fan of this novel. Firstly, the writing is a little too choppy and the exposition is contrived. Secondly, even though this novel is supposedly about The Accident and how it affected Catherine and Julia's lives, the novel mainly follows Julia, Claire (Julia's best friend) and Daniel (Claire's husband and Julia's future boyfriend). Also, most of the characters are insufferable and their development is rushed or non-existent. Julia's character doesn't really develop (she's the I'm-not-like-other-girls type) and Daniel is a lazy man-child. Some of the characters are stereotypes - like the gay, black friend whose main objective in the novel is to be the gay black friend. If you're going to add a sliver of diversity to a novel, at least give the diverse character some depth. ____________________________________________ Thirdly, some major plot points and revelations are glossed over in this novel. There are certain events in the book that are meant to be emotionally traumatic for the characters but these characters, with the exception of Catherine, seem to move on pretty fast. (SPOILER) I find it too convenient that Claire quickly forgives Julia for having an affair with her husband and Julia's reaction to the truth about The Accident is explained in only a few sentences. I wanted to like this novel but it's just not my cup of tea. What are you currently reading? Let me know below! #burgundyxbooks
Corn + water + a pinch of imagination = GLOOP! This is one of my go-to entertainment hacks for AG. It makes a mess (always fun for a toddler) but dries back into powder for a quick clean up in a flash! What are your favourite pocket-friendly kids’ activities?
Pink Lipsticks 💄💋. ____________________________________________ To be honest, I'm not the biggest fan of pink lipsticks. However, MAC's Viva Glam III and the Nyx Matte Suede Lipstick in 'Girl, Bye' are the exceptions. Viva Glam III is described as a matte warm red but, on my skin tone, it's more of a semi-matte magenta shade. It is absolutely gorgeous on medium to darker skin tones and the formula is lovely - pigmented, smooth, not drying and long-lasting. ____________________________________________ Nyx's 'Girl, Bye' is a berry magenta that's slightly lighter than Viva Glam III. The formula is also slightly different - this is more of a true, powder matte and the formula is less creamy than Viva Glam III. However, Girl, Bye is also pigmented and long-lasting. Despite the subtle differences, I think that Girl, Bye is a cruelty-free, affordable dupe for Viva Glam III. Fave pink lipsticks? Comment down below! #burgundyxmac#burgundyxnyx
On Saturday, I attended a Cadbury Eggstra Ordinary Easter Blogger Meetup at Baakens Bistro. It was a lovely event - we had a delicious breakfast and I got to catch up with some awesome PE bloggers. Since it was a Cadbury-inspired meetup, we also got to taste some of their new chocolates - including a chocolate egg filled with Astros. Needless to say, I devoured the chocolate right after I took this photo. ____________________________________________ A huge thank you to @cadbury_sa, @luchae and @justellabella for yet another amazing event!
