Tweens! An awkward and frustrating transition in life. Not just for the child but for parents as well. Maxi needs redirecting and reminders for almost everything! Sometimes I spend so much time with him and Lucie gets the short end of the stick when it comes to homeschooling. It hasn't become a big issue yet because she's in kindergarten, she's on par for the grade level, and she's quite independent herself. 😌 However, as the upcoming years will get more challenging for her, I have to be able to make one-on-one time with her. Maxi has to become more independent for his benefit and my sanity. Soon he'll be starting high school and I'd love to see him do more homeschool work on his own. So I created a daily checklist that will help him become more independent. 🤞🏽 We've been using it for the past two weeks (second pic is his checklist) and he's been doing better with completing some homeschool work on his own. I do have to remind him to check his checklist every morning 🤣 but I've seen improvement in regards to homeschool independence. Of course he's not entirely on his own. He still asks for help when needed, I check his assignments, and I peek in from time to time to see if he's doing what he's supposed to be doing (you know how kids are). 😏 The checklist allows me to also write down his chores, reminder to take care hygiene (tweens!🤦🏻♀️) and remind him of other regularly scheduled things throughout the week, such as language therapy, homeschool co-op classes, etc... More than anything, this is a reminder to myself of why I am here and a reminder of just how blessed I am. I didn't wake up this morning without the help and blessing of my Heavenly Father. I didn't handle business, take care of my family, and watch the sun burn away the morning fog without the help and blessing of my Heavenly Father. I am thankful beyond my wildest imagination for all that I have and the work He is doing in me. God is so good. I can state with absolute certainty that I accomplished nothing today apart from God. I wouldn't have it any other way. ✝✝✝ P.S. I know the list is empty 😉

WIN EACH DAY - Everyday is full of new opportunity for you to go out and get what’s yours, and to build towards the dreams you have. - Some days will be easy. I know they have the skills of getting ready, but with out my nagging voice nothing was getting done! So we implemented check lists! . I’m thrilled to say that the essentials are being completed with only a reminder of “What does your checklist tell you to do?” Or the ever famous, “ummm is that on your check list🤔? I think not!!” 😁 . We have even added our support your health regimen! The kids are now asking me, “Mom, where are the wolf packs and oils? I need them!” I don’t have to remember to support their immune system! Woohoo proactive has never felt so good!
