There are so many different modalities out there, to connect to our true Self, Higher Self and obtain mindfulness and bliss. I have found that trying a little of everything has been so important on my journey. There is not ONE practice or ritual that I focus on and practice, I have instead tried to learn from all the modalities and created my own path. I have also seen very clearly what can happen when you completely lose the connection to your body. In the beginning of my journey, I had lost the connection and did not feel embodied at all. I started meditating and doing yoga, but I still was not aware at all what my body was telling me and needing. It is when we accept that we first need to ground ourselves and work with our root, sacral and solar plexus chakra, that we can truly benefit from our higher chakras. There is a connection between the higher and lower chakras, through the heart and when we are with our hearts, we also listen more to our intuition and higher guidance, as well as practice self love. Lately I have been practicing a lot of grounding: through nature, through listening to my womb, through connecting with other sisters, through embracing and letting myself be embraced by the Divine Mother. The Divine Mother is the night and the Moon, sometimes cold, sometimes destructive. But it is all so that we can embrace the light and to truly connect with the universal womb. This past weekend I got to spend time with loved ones & explore this beautiful city that I live in. 🌸 I listened to a podcast recently with Dave Asprey talking about gratitude. He talked about how changing our thoughts changes our mitochondria & rewires our brain. 🧠 The more we practice gratitude the more we default to positivity instead of negativity. ✨ We are reactive beings, with thousands of thoughts everyday, & it can be challenging to always respond with intention. 💭 “We are not our thoughts but the observer of them.” How cool is it that we can make more of these unconscious thoughts positive simply by practicing gratitude?

It is amazing what taking care of yourself will do for your overall health. I know that seems obvious, but self care isn’t just doing face masks on Sundays. It’s about drinking more water, going to bed early, finding a routine that works for you. It’s about owning your traumas and working through that shit. Accepting what is and making the best of the current situation you are in, while seeing every moment as an opportunity to do better, feel better, and be real and honest with yourself about what it is that’s hurting you. It’s a hard truth to face when you realize you were the one holding yourself back all along.
