I CANNOT CONTAIN MY EXCITEMENT! . . Ok! So on Black Friday when I wasn’t supposed to be spending money 😂 I saw that @curlsmith_official was having an AWESOME deal on their bundle sets. I have been dying to try their products but wanted all of them and couldn’t buy them all and also couldn’t narrow down which ones to get since I couldn’t get them all.... Back to Black Friday, I was able to get the ENTIRE LINE for 40% off. 😍🙌 . . Today was wash day and I was VERY limited on time (I slept later than I was supposed to... story of my life). And with a rushed wash and style, I air dried at work, SOTC with nothing on my hands (I know, I know, but I forgot to take my Righteous Roots Hair Rx with me) and I got these BOMB RESULTS!!! . . The smell. The texture. The slip. The way it made my hair feel. The DRASTIC decrease in frizz. Everything about these products is amazing. So far I have used 6 out of the 8 products and I can’t wait to use the other 2. 🙌🙌 . . Thank you so much, @curlsmith_official, for making these incredible products and for having such a fabulous deal on Black Friday that gave me these wonderful #washday results! . . #curlsmith#curlsmithproducts#curlygirl#curlyhairstyles#curlygirlmethod

Happy 6 months of happy curls and waves to my hair! 🌀➰➿ #curliversary#curlygirlmethod Does anyone else find this extremely therapeutic? No, just me? 🤪👩🏻🦱 I find it so crazy that these amazing clumps are from Day 2 curls and that last week I was able to push my wash day 6 days! I’ve come so far from the beginning. I’m able to pinpoint what my hair needs just from running my hands along it and feeling it. I find that watching back YT vids that at once sounded like gibberish to me is extremely helpful. Wash day yesterday: @sheamoisture JBCO to prepoo @bouncecurl Clarifying Shampoo @bouncecurl Cream Conditioner @sheamoisture jbco masque 15 mins with @thermalhaircare Rinsed it all out I applied all my products how @powerdomi does in her styling video on IGTV @officialkinkycurly Knot Today @jessicurl Rockin Ringlets @jessicurl Spiralicious I think these are going to quickly become my holy grails ❣️ And Domi’s technique is definitely something I will keep in my arsenal 👌🏼 #jessicurl#bouncecurl#curlygirl#wavygirl#naturallycurly#naturalhair#hair#curlybob#curlyhairstyle#2bhair#2chair
These are my go-to cleansers/conditioner, moisturizer, leave-in's, and gels. If I have an important event, I will reach for a combination containing these products . I have yet to find a cream that doesn't weigh my hair down but the last 2 washes I have been using a dime size of Cantu curl activator cream along with whatever gel I'm using and seems to be good. But it's deffinetely not a game changer like all the above products have been for me . #hopethishelps#curlygirlmethod#curlygirlproducts#curlygirlholygrails . What are your holy grails?
This evening was washday.. a little diffusing and then off to bed. So far loving my results. Washed with @devacurl low-poo Followed with @aussiehair 3 minute moist deep conditioner. Massaged and left in for at least 3 and then washed out. Styled with @cantubeauty define & shine curling custard. Topped with @fructis_garnier pure clean gel #curlygirlmethod#curli_momlife #cgmethod#naturalhair#healthyhair#curlyhair#curlyproducts#washday
How I achieve soft waves 🌊 . After shampooing and conditioning, I use a leave-in conditioner to style. Then I sleep on a satin pillowcase, with my hair in a loose braid. In the morning, I let my damp hair out of the braid - but then throw it in a bun! Once it is almost entirely dry I take it down... and this is usually the result I tend to get!
#repost @newfoundwavie ・・・ 🧖#Noprotein #washday Results🧖 I think it's safe to say that my hair has recovered from its #haircutshock. It took 5 days. And some @mysoigne #flaxseedgel (loving this product right now). . . 〰️DC: @jessicurl Deep Conditioning Treatment and @olaplex No.3. Applied to spray bottle dampened hair layer by later, brushed product through with my #denman brush, and heat treated with my @thermalhaircare Hot Head for two hours (reheated the hot head twice). STC to rinse completely out. 〰️Cowash: @asiamnaturally Coconut Cowash. I usually clarify before or after deep conditioning to get rid of any additional buildup, but I'm trying to limit my clarifying washes to once every two weeks instead of once a week since Suave Clarifying Shampoo does contain sulfates. I'm wondering if this is why my hair has been so troublesome during my two months of the #curlygirlmethod so far. Clarifying is still super important, maybe just not once a week important. 〰️Condition: @devacurl Original Cream Conditioner. It's lighter than my Jessicurl Too Shea conditioner, which I thought would he useful since I didn't clarify with deep conditioning. Finger raked and STCed until it felt absorbed/let's wet from scrunching. Rinsed 100% Roped and gently squished in the following 〰️Leave-In: @giovannicosmetics 〰️Enhancer: Rockin' Ringlets 〰️Gels: Spiralicuous and flaxseed 〰️Dry: microplopped small sections, diffused on cold/high to set cast and finished on warm/low to dry to 100% 〰️Slept in the cast using @suddenlycurlyandgray's #nestclipping method. I don't think I'll do this with the cast in again, it flattened the sides of my head preeetty good. 〰️Refreshed with a little sprayed water, gentle, open-palmed scrunching, and diffused for 5 min to set. . . #wavyhair#wavybob#wavyhairdontcare#wavygirl#powertothewavies#cgmethod#wavyhaircommunity#sleepprotection
#repost @aileron_beauty ・・・ Oh goodness, this is the last image I can post until I receive my ringlight bulb. Can you believe I was just thinking the other day, “I can’t believe I haven’t had to replace the bulb yet!” Well I shouldn’t have thought that, because now I do. I selected quick shipping, but we shall see. Anyway, here is my washday. . • @garnierusa ONE MINUTE HAIR MASK/ BANANA: I did this as a pre-poo since my hair rejects excess moisture. I applied it to wet hair, then used my @thermalhaircare Hot Headz and let it sit for 20 minutes. I loved the scent so much that it’s hard to think about anything else concerning this product. Did it work well? I have no idea, but it smells fantastic if you enjoy candy banana scents!.. • @nymbrands CURL TALK SHAMPOO: I absolutely loved this moderately high sudsing lather. It did not feel as though it stripped my hair, and it definitely felt like it properly cleansed. It’s a very viscous liquid, so it takes a minute to get it going but once it does, it doesn’t stop. • CURL TALK CONDITIONER: also really enjoyed this. Seems like lightweight moisture for my hair that is easy to Overdose with moisture. Also provided decent slip for finger detangling, though not as much as KinkyCurly Knot Today. I rinsed it out completely, but I do think I could get away with leaving a bit in. • @devacurl WAVEMAKER: this one is highly praised among many CGMethod Followers. And I do like it. However, I think I got better results from the B’Leave-in. WAVEMAKER almost felt as though it was drying my hair out as I was applying it. I applied it to wet hair, but something about how it felt during application, scared me. I do think it left me with bouncy, defined waves, but I can’t say it’s my favorite. Maybe I will try it alongside B’Leave-in next time. • @aussiehair INSTANT FREEZE GEL: this one works the same for me as the LA Looks Gel, so I tend to grab either. I was just informed that the LA Looks one
#repost @coppertopcurls ・・・ Didn't have time to post yesterday's wash day results so here they are! I clarified and used very little glycerin and protein; dew points were in the 60's so having glycerin low on the gel's ingredient list was a good choice. Protein was also pretty far down the list, and I think my hair really liked the protein-free deep conditioning. Could this mean I'm understanding more about my hair's protein/moisture balance?! . The line up: ☔Clarify: @ouidad Water Works Clarifying Shampoo ☔Deep condition: @jessicurl Deep Conditioning Treatment. I had a sample and used the while thing under my @thermalhaircare Hot Head for 30 minutes. ☔Rinsed the mask out completely, then flipped my hair over and combed ☔Leave-in: @officialkinkycurly Knot Today, pea size with praying hands. I started scrunching but wasnt getting that squelching sound when I pulsed my hands. I turned the faucet back on and cupped water in my hands to do more squish to condish all over. Then I put my leave-in back in since ther water had rinsed it all out. The extra STC seemed to help with the moisture levels when I scrunched again ☔Mousse: @ogx_beauty Coconut Curls Mousse, praying hands and scrunched ☔Gel: @ouidad Advanced Climate Control, praying hands and scrunched ☔Microplopped with a microfiber towel, then added more gel with praying hands, scrunched, and diffused for 45 minutes . . . . . #naturallycurly#naturallywavy#curlygirl#curlygirlmethod#cgmethod#cgm#curls#wavy#wavyhair#redhead#embraceyourcurl
“Wow I didn’t think my hair would curl like that. It is beautiful!” This is what our guest said at the end of the hair cut! And you know what? It can look shiny and more defined, but it requires a little bit more dedication and lots of treatment. Preferably a salon treatment every now and then, because YOU deserve the BEST for your curl! Only used @everescents_organic_haircare styling cream and diffuser. Keep it simple! 👉 for before shot!
because I secretly want curls...I can’t get enough! . “my husband said that until I stop using my old products he won't believe it works. Well, here I am with the exclusive use of Monat. This is about three weeks of use, trial and error. I used renew shampoo and replenish masque in the shower and to style I used curl cream mixed with leave in conditioner and then applied moxie mousse and after styling, a couple of drops of oil. The oil prevents frizz and accentuates the curl. I only Air dry, always. Curly girls. Feel free to share. *EDIT* I tried smoothing conditioner for the first time today, game changer. I could glide my fingers right through in the shower. My hair is frizz free. If you don't have curl cream, try this as a psuedo substitute. To clarify: I put a quarter size amount of curl cream mixed with the same amount of leave in conditioner and rub it together in my hands, then scrunch evenly through starting from the bottom. Then take a spray of mousse in my hand and scrunch that in starting from the bottom. After that I scrunched the oil in a couple of times.” - Nikki Gross Klein . curious about your curls? link in bio happy hair quiz.
Today is a very #meh hair day. Today I remember all of the posts my #hairgoals#inspo posters have made talking about, don't give up, not ever, it's a long journey, etc. . I've been conditioning, using masks, ACV rinse, rice water rinse, sleeping on a satin pillow case, pineapple hair to sleep, squishing to condish, all of it. . I know my products are on point because I'm reading reviews and ingredients. I'm really trying. I don't over work the hair, I give it time to relax and rest… . I'm ready for the defined, bouncing voluminous clumps NOW. So since they aren't here I'm sharing this frizzy undefined mess. In the past I've been 3c when my hair was shorter but today you can definitely see some 2a in there. . Here I am, waiting impatiently, trusting the process. I'm not giving up. Gonna keep working and hoping. . #struggle#curlygirl#curl#curlyhair#curls#curly#curlygirlmethod#hairtransformation#badhairday

Pic 1. End of September 2018 (about 1 week into CGM) . Pic 2. Nov. 30th 2018 (9 weeks CGM) . I know is still have a lot to learn. I haven’t really taken time to learn about or Monitor the effects of glycerin or protein on my hair. I just notice which individual products feel best, look shiny, enhances curl or holds best/longest, Etc... For anyone even newer to this journey than me... (meaning newborn CG, I’m toddler CG) 😂 My unsolicited advice is to start with the basics, test your porosity, rely on google searches, and other CG with similar hair type. @wavycurlychronicles @reallifecurlygirl @curlicue_lu are all super informative 💫 🔑 POINTS FOR ME: 1. don’t be scared to leave in conditioner. The right one will not weigh your hair down and it will reduce tangling and add shine and softness. 2. Apply products to soaking wet hair. Drip. Drip. 3. Next, Gel. Use it!! Seriously 😳 gel would be a # 1 seller if they labeled it “leaves hair silky soft and shiny if you SOTC”!!!!!! Magic 💫🎉 4. Gently scrunch between each product application ❤️ . To be honest, my hair is so resilient! I’ve been ironing, blow “frying”, combing while dry and using sulphates and silicones for as long as i can remember ...... it seemed to transform overnight. I am more than excited to see what i will look like 1 year into my journey.

I found myself wishing I could wash my hair last night cos it felt gross after a few hot days in a pineapple and then deep cleaning my bathroom for my rent inspection (😩) but not having the time or energy to invest in styling (and not wanting to mess the bathroom up too much 😂). . Then I saw @curlycurlyerin ‘s low key wash day post and realised there are no rules that say I absolutely have to spend a bunch of time on styling just to have clean hair. I’m the only one setting the rules! . I thoroughly cowashed with @goatsoapau , conditioned with @garnierau Macadamia HF and left a bunch of it in (it was inexact 😂). . I chucked it straight up in a plop with a cotton towel covered by a micro fibre hair wrap (to prevent errant conditioner drips all over the place). . I actually wasn’t going to add any styling product but after air-drying for an hour-ish while rebuilding my Xmas book-tree (swipe for a pic 😉) I decided to chuck some @officialkinkycurly KCCC in because 🤷🏻♀️. . I just scrunched it in all over, more scrunching than I have been doing just cos I felt like it. 😂 . I ended up having to diffuse for a bit so I could go to bed, but threw it up in a silk scarf for bed with a slight cast. . Very minor scrunching and fluffing this morning as I was running late. . Plus bubba wanted to get in on the selfie action. . So today goes out to #embracingthefrizz#lowkeywashday#nannylife and my #bookmastree 😘😘😘
That right there is the smile of a VERY happy girl! 😁 I’ve been dealing with a lot of frizz over the last few weeks so @curlicue_lu suggested that I try clarifying...and it WORKED! I also tried @goodgravyitswavy’s clipping technique along with @thisonesforthecurls’s advice to be more patient while diffusing and as you can see it was a MAJOR success!! 🎉💃🏼 • • Thank you to my curlfriends for the advice! I’m so SO grateful to have found this community! ☺️💕 • • 1️⃣ Clarified with some rando hotel shampoo I found under the bathroom sink 😅 2️⃣ Deep conditioned with @sheamoisture Raw She Butter Deep Treatment Masque 3️⃣ Applied @sallybeauty GVP Conditioning Balm as my leave-in with praying hands/STC 4️⃣ Scrunched/pulsed with @lalooksgel Sport (I was worried some frizz might be creeping in so I added more water as I scrunched) 5️⃣ Plopped in cotton T-shirt for 20-30 minutes 6️⃣ Diffused to 75% (side to side, then upside down) ~ 30 minutes 7️⃣ Root clipped & air dried for another 20-30 minutes 8️⃣ Gave it a good rake and shake at the roots (I didn’t get hardly any cast...probably should’ve added more gel after the additional water) 9️⃣ Proceeded to take as many selfies as possible before I ran out of sunlight! 📸💁🏼♀️✨ • • #washday#washdaysuccess#curlygirlmethod#cgmethod#curls#waves#curlygirl#curlscurlscurls#redhaircurls#gingercurls
@gregtony_ouidad in Westport is the ONLY place I will trust with my hair. If you have curly hair, you know how hard it is to find someone that knows how to cut it and won’t make you look like you have a mop for a head. . Growing up, I was a tomboy and although I had the amazing @arleighhairmakeup living across the street, at 5 years old we had no clue what to do with my hair. I was bullied a bunch by the neighborhood boys who would frequently call me “rats nest” after my mom would tear a hairbrush through my dry tangled hair before running out to the bus in the morning. Fast forward 30 years and I was relieved to be in @nsh_hair ‘s confident hands. . Along w the rest of the @gregtony_ouidad staff, @nsh_hair frequently goes to @ouidad in NYC to take classes & sharpen her skill set when it comes to the latest curly hair techniques including the “rake & shake”. And guys...if they can do curly hair SO well here, imagine how well they can cut every other kind of hair! I’ve been going there for years and will continue to as long as they’re around. . Make your appointment for @gregtony_ouidad now! There are so many “forever” pictures coming up over the holidays...treat yourself now & then let your hair be one less thing you have to worry about! . A special thank you to Nana & Raven for the awesome experience and great cut. I am so happy with it! Oh and make sure you swipe 👉 to see the whole process! #eatlocal#drinklocal#shoplocal#203local#203kids#203life#bestofwhatsaround
As I prepare for my trim and to redo my highlights this Friday at @curlson5th , I've noticed something about my products this week. I've used @w2naturals on many different occasions. I always used the spray leave in to style since my hair was so fine it wasnt able to handle much moisture. I noticed this week that my day one curls weren't as defined as they normally are but I got a lot of volume so it worked out fantastic but it had me thinking So the next day I cowashed and restyled with the @w2naturals rinse out conditioner which is significantly thicker and heavier. Can you believe my definition returned?! It's good to notice the changes in your hair. A product that once worked for me is just not heavy enough for my current hair needs and the weather. Your environment makes a big difference in your products selection. Love that this line has two different options for hydration. @w2naturals got my back during any time of the year! ♥️
Natural curls or straight?💫 I love hearing your opinions and connecting with my fellow curly hair girls! Still on my natural hair journey but I love they way my hair looks when it’s straight 😭 getting my hair freshened up this week🙏🏽 - #curlyhair#curls#naturalhair
Here’s probably my first successful #hairrefresh . I think I’m on day 3? And I did it after running a 10k. (on my own, not a race)Before you get all grossed out... I showered, and soaked my hair. I see other curlies/wavies doing refreshing instead of rewashing, so I really wanted to try it. I haven’t had the best success with refreshing until now. But this is about learning what my hair likes/responds to, and pretty much across the board... it seems that the answer to 9 out of 10 questions is water. Soaking wet hair has been the key for me at applying products, and now it seems that the same holds true for refreshing. I will say that day two hair had been looking great straight outta the pineapple. Day 3 is usually when I am starting to hate how my hair looks. And day 4, I end up having to wash again. But now... with today’s success... maybe... just maybe, I can squeeze two more days out??? So on soaking wet hair, with my head flipped forward, I used the praying hands method to apply: . . • @officialkinkycurly CURLING CUSTARD: I used a smaller amount than I would normally use on wash day... I used about a nickel sized amount on each side... . • @bouncecurl LIGHT CREME GEL: I didn’t love this gel when I used on on washday a while back, but wow... I totally loved it for refreshing!!! I have better definition than I did on wash day! . . Some areas of improvement: I was worried about applying product towards my roots, I need to drop that fear and just go for it next time as I have a lot of halo frizz. But seriously, I’ll take it! I have been loving my hair all day! . . . How have you been with refresh days? How many times do you wash your hair in a week? . . . .PS: I tried turning my ringlight on again, just to see... and it flipping worked! So I am crossing my fingers that it stays working so I can keep posting while I wait for the replacement bulb. 💡 . . #curlygirlmethod#cgmethod#wavyhair#wavycurls#wavycurly#curlywavy#curlfriends
Same day - Different products! Apologies for my dumb faces in these photos, they were screen grabs from my stories today, which if you saw you know that today was my washday, and after washing and styling my hair once... I decided to do it again! My first go is on the left, second is on the right. Now, I don’t think the left looks bad. Actually it looks kind of sexy and cool. But I’ve been frustrated that I just haven’t been able to achieve the tighter curl pattern that I know my hair is capable of, and I was really stumped as to why. My ends were particularly stubborn. I even gave myself a trim a few days ago, hoping that would help. On the left I styled my hair with the As I Am leave in, @jessicurl rockin ringlets and spiralicious. These are awesome products that have given me awesome results in the past, but lately they just aren’t delivering the way they used to for me. On the right I rinsed my hair with water and did a quick cowash with the As I Am coconut cowash to remove the old product. Then I styled with the same leave in, and the new-to-me @devacurl styling cream with my HG @mysoigne flax seed gel. The difference is obvious. I’m not saying one is better than the other, but the bounce and hydration and curl definition I got from the second wash definitely proved that what my hair has been craving is hydration. I can’t use glycerin heavy products (which is what the curl cream is) all year round because of our insane humidity and high dew points, but this might just be my new winter combo. Thoughts?? Also, I do NOT recommend washing your hair twice in one day, but I was battling an earache that made me completely useless to do anything else, and doing my hair relaxes me. I was also felt like experimenting, and it’s MY hair, so I’ll do what I want! Have you guys had to adjust your products for winter? Any new curlies find this incredibly confusing, like me?
