In efforts to be open and transparent on this page, I just wanted to give a weight update. I've gained a solid 10 pounds since July. I'm convinced that SOME of that weight gain is muscle. However, I think in the process of eating more to get stronger and improve my performance in the gym, I've packed on a little extra fluff. I've felt bigger, more uncomfortable in my clothes, not as lean, and not as confident. I've still been eating clean, but I clearly don't have it all figured out. That's why I've hired a crossfit nutritional coach for the next 6 months. Someone who is educated and who knows what they are doing. I meet with her tomorrow night and I'm so excited to lose fat while getting stronger. Movement Monday: The Burpee🎯 . Every Monday we will be bringing you a new movement and breaking down how to perform the movement & different ways to modify it! . The Burpee is VITAL to life; it tests our basic strength and ability to pick our own bodies up off the ground (cue ‘Life Alert’ commercial). . Now we know Burpees have a bad rap for their ability to crush souls but if Burpees are tough for you fear not, we have some ways to make even the newest member move through it! . 1) Burpee: 📍Start standing, reach hands down and drop into push-up. 📍Chest and thighs touch the ground. 📍Jump feet up and return to standing. 📍Finish with full extension of knees, hips & reaching arms overhead. . 2) No push-up Burpee: 📍Starting In standing, Place hands on the ground and jump back to a plank. 📍Arms remain straight, squeeze belly tight so hips are in line with shoulders. 📍Jump feet up and return to standing extending at the knees, hips & reaching arms overhead. . 3) Burpee to a box: 📍Place hands on a box jump (or step) feet back with arms remaining straight. 📍Keep belly tight and hips/torso rigid. 📍Jump (or step) feet back up to standing & finish extending at the knees, hips & reaching arms overhead. .
