It’s time I pay my respects to @grimmales hops. It’s been quite the ride for me on that front. Years ago they crushed the game in this department, and then things went downhill. Wild inconsistency that really disappointed me nearly every time I tried a new batch of something (to be clear, I’m talking SOLELY about their hops). But I never quite gave up hope, and I’m glad that I didn’t! Since opening their own facility down in NYC (another reason to mosey on down to Brooklyn if you’re visiting!), they’re back with an absolute vengeance. Every single beer I’ve tried has blown me away, and immediately takes me back to some of the earliest, greatest memories I have of their IPAs/DIPAs. This beer right here, Hyperfocus: Mosaic, is the third in their rotating single hop DIPA line. This threw me back really hard to some assertively old school uses of mosaic. Beautifully sticky and stanky. Bitterness I love that I don’t get in many beers I drink anymore (by choice, mainly, but I do love it). I ❤️ this beer, and I ❤️ this brewery.
