It's Mental Health Week and The Honourable Ginette Petitpas Taylor, Minister of Health, gave a great speech today on that topic at CORIM. She has volunteered with several community organizations, including the Coalition Against Abuse in Relationships and the Canadian Mental Health Association’s Suicide Prevention Committee. Ms. Petitpas Taylor was the Codiac RCMP Victim Services Coordinator, during which time she provided crisis counselling, domestic violence intervention, and domestic violence risk assessment to victims of crime. There are few Canadians left untouched, either directly or indirectly, by mental illness, the challenges of which are shared by developing and developed countries alike. Global momentum to improve mental health is increasing, and Canada is determined to play its part. #leadership#education#mentalhealth#government#politics#courage#womeningovernance @__lagouvernanceaufeminin @__womeningovernance. You know the I want to vomit feeling, the sweaty hands, or the voice in your head saying you are not good enough when you get out of your comfort zone? I know these feelings intimately, and even though I don't enjoy them, I want them. It means I am stepping into me, into what I want and working towards something I choose. When those feelings come up, instead of shifting so they go away, I step into them. I've started 2019 looking for what makes me uncomfortable and stepping into it. The latest is developing my One Boob Down program: a course to support women who have experienced a mastectomy to move from survivor to thriver. It is about rediscovering who they are and kicking ass in business and life. It is 12 weeks long and it focuses on embracing the new normal. (If you want more information, please reach out!) What are you doing this week that is making you get out of your comfort zone? #fuckfine To read my blog post and other tips about being brave click link in bio. . . . . . . #businesscoachingforwomen#grief#griefjourney#womeninbusinessrock#successfulmindset#womenwhomeanbusiness#vision #2019#mastectomy#gettingoutofmycomfortzone#brave#courage#imperfectcourage

Please know that being an entrepreneur is Not A Game! Understand you are in charge of everything. So that means if it works, it's all you. If it doesn't work, it's all you. 📈 For me, either I'm taking calls, educating others about credit repair, educating myself on business, coming up with ideas for my next post, whether picture or video, managing accounts, reviewing reports, the list goes on and on. 📢📢 There's always room for improvement. This new program has been a tough one. Hands down one of the toughest programs I’ve done. I knew going into this program was going to be challenging, tough and push me in new ways. But this is not what I had prepared for. I’ve had my bootay handed to me mentally and physically and it’s only week 2. I’ve taken so many breaks. I have modified. I have never wanted to give up more on something in my entire life. I have felt my lungs screaming at me to stop. But I’ve kept pushing. I’ve always finished the 20 minutes. I’ve put my all into it. I’ve done my best and that’s all I can do. I committed to this program and I made a promise to myself on day one I would finish. No matter what it takes. I know I can do hard things, I’m more then capable of doing hard things. I’m living proof of that, throwing in the towel would only be letting myself down. This isn’t all about exercising or finishing a program. This is about will power, finding the power, believing in myself. About not throwing in the towel and giving up when things get tough. You will always come out on the other side stronger than you could imagine. But you have to keep pushing and believing in yourself. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀•When you really want something you will find a way. When you don't really want something, you'll find an excuse. -Rachel Hollis•

REAL TALK MOMENT🚨: So I did a thing today. Today at lunch I was sitting with my coworkers discussing the company webcast we had just watched. And then we were talking about the Q&A portion where all the employees could write in to the CEO in real time and ask a question. I said I wrote a question. And then one of my coworkers mockingly asked if my question was about diversity. The way he said it immediately gave me a pit. I responded that yes, in fact my question was about diversity and did he notice the lack of it when they scanned the crowd of the attendees of the global meeting we were all watching. The subject changed and were on to the next part of our lunchtime banter. I went back to my desk but all afternoon I kept thinking about the way he spoke to me and the way he spoke about a subject that is very important to me. My team is ALL men. Majority of them are white men. The industry that I work in has pretty much the same make up. And 9/10 times they treat me with the utmost respect but I have worked my butt off over almost 5 years to learn the industry and earn that respect. I texted my sister about how I was feeling and asked if I should say something. She said yes, I should say something to him. I was nervous. I was uncomfortable but I did it. I went to his office as he was leaving for the day and I said what I needed to say. I could tell he was taken back. He was uncomfortable but he apologized and more importantly HE HEARD ME. I stood up for myself and when I started working here 5 years ago, I never would have done that. In fact, 5 years ago I never would have even had the courage to ask a question about the diversity of our workforce. And I am leaving my desk today proud. 🙌🏾❤️💁🏾♀️ • • • 📸: @ashtonkelleyphotography 🔮: @jessalbinsevents #livingalexis#realtalkmoments#transformationtuesday#standupforyourself#courage#brave#thisisamerica#thisisme#bebold#blackgirlsrock#blackgirlmagic#diversityandinclusion
Moments. This may be sappy for some, but I don't care. This is me, like it or not. Moments mean the world. Especially if you care, like, or love someone. Whether it's a friend, your love, or in this case..... a mother to a son. Moments like this, even if it's something that may happen again in the future, you capture. Because you can always reflect on the love, guidance, and togetherness that was captured in that moment. And moments, no matter how simplistic, will always mean the most to those that value them. #love#courage#motivated#patience#chocolatebuddhabear #withoutstrugglethereisnoprogress #novanitybeforesanity#noego#motherandson#stayhumble#moments#treasuremoments #treasuremomentsbecauseyoutreasureeachother

One of the many ways people try to control you is through fear. But we are taught from the word of God, ‘we’ve not been given a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind’. The early church was faced with persecution (false imprisonments, loss of property, public humiliation, and even death) for believing in the person of Jesus Christ. However, as discouraging as this tactic of bullying through intimidation discouraged them, they kept spreading the truth wherever they went and it benefited others. Doing the right thing, especially in today’s world takes a lot of courage. We see courage throughout the word of God: Esther the Queen, David the young sheep herder, and the three young Hebrew boys. What we learn from them is regardless of your position or age, no one is immune to fear, but we have God on our side so we can take down strongholds. I learned many years ago, ‘fear is a mind killer, you must face it and let it pass through’. If fear paralysis you, know you’ll never move till you look it in the eye. ➖ “But Saul was going everywhere to destroy the church. He went from house to house, dragging out both men and women to throw them into prison. But the believers who were scattered preached the Good News about Jesus wherever they went.” — Acts 8:3-4 NLT ➖ #god#jesus#holy#bibleverse#lord#faith#pray#religion#preach#gods#praying#love#art#nyc#godlove#amazing#home#quoteoftheday#motivational#christian#spiritual#spirituality#fear#fearless#courage#strength
