We Do What We Want Saturday You know there is a fire burning in the fireplace, a cozy chair, a shelf or two with books and a nice dog asleep on the rug inside this cottage. I need transported! Thanks for sharing with #archi_ologie Reposted from @katya_jackson - Sake Dean Mahomet was born in 1759 and grew up in the Bengal region of India. He served in the Bengal army and came to Britain in 1782. He then moved to Ireland and eloped with an Irish girl called Jane Daly in 1786, returning to England at the turn of the century. In 1810 he opened the Hindoostane Coffee House in George Street, London. It was the first curry house to open in Britain. Mahomet and his wife also introduced ‘shampooing’, the Indian art of head massage, to Britain... - very useful information I’m learning in preparation to ‘Life in the UK’ test which I’m taking in a couple of weeks 🇬🇧✌️ Have a great Friday night! - #regrann#history#cottage#cotswalds#houseportrait#oldhousecharm#uk#historichouse

You can just imagine the roaring, open fire with a rocking chair beside it with a casserole being cooked in an aga stove inside the kitchen of this lovely thatch. I took this one winters afternoon in the late sun. I’d love to go back in the summer to see how it looks. A little update for you lovely peeps who have noticed I’ve not been around lately. I’m still very much struggling with #mecfs which means I spend most of my life at home instead of out exploring beautiful places like this. It’s very easy to only see the negatives and think about what I can’t do but I need to try and focus on the things I can do and if that just means sitting in the garden when the sun is out, a cup of fresh coffee, a meal made by lovely hubby then so be it. I’m also very lucky to have a wonderful family that make me smile. I have recently also been diagnosed with a slipped disc and bulging disc which is degenerative so it’s one day at a time folks. I really miss taking photos like this and have to admit that I find it hard to see the lovely accounts that capture all the beauty this country has to offer but I promise to view it more positively and comment more often on your lovely feeds. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend 😘 #latergram
How great is the before and after process? So amazing to see what paint and landscaping can do to a property. My client @nursejamiela showed me this orange house and I said @benjaminmoore White Dove paint to the rescue! Add in beautiful Italian Cypress in @restoration.hardware pots and Palm trees🌿🌴🌳🌿and viola...it’s a game changer! Pretty Pretty
#throwback . Maybe I get a little selfish sometimes Why shouldn’t I? I used to say I love you But would it make a difference this time? Who am I to tell you that I would never let you down That no one else could love you half as much as I do now And who am I to tell you that I’ll always catch you when you fall Well, I wouldn’t be myself at all #whoami#willyoung
Dreaming of last weekend 🌿 • We left behind sunny Melbourne and flew north to rainy Queensland, usually the weather goes the other way around, but we didn’t mind one bit. We took a day trip to Mount Tamborine, a village in the Gold Coast Hinterland. • When it rains the trees smell divine, the birds don’t stop twittering and there everything is calm for a moment. • We found the most beautiful little storybook English cottage, that looked like it belonged in the Cotswolds. It was pouring with rain when I took these photos from under the protection of a big leafy tree across the street.
