Let go. Release the tension and the pain.Tap into meditation, it will bring you relief from all the ails you my love. We all need to engage in introspection, looking within for answers to solve problems and fulfill our purpose. To connect and become in tune with the universe, all that guides us toward our potential. Our mentality is always so set in the past or future, forgetting the present moment in which we hold our power. In which to change, shift and manifest our desires. I meditate often, it has become a spiritual practice of mine that really blesses my intentions and provides with me with wisdom and insight that I might not of otherwise attained if I kept worrying about my future or dwelling in the past. Rid my anxiety, my pain and worries. Meditation frees me, empowers me and brings me clarity. Connection . It's what we all want. That connection. Knowing that we are a significant part of this bigger picture.#release #nomorepain#meditation#relax#getconnected#connect#shift#createchange#wordsofwisdom#manifest#anxiety#goodbye#pastpresentfuture#powerofnow#cravings#mentality#mentalstate#mentalhealth#coping#mechanism#relief#ahhhh#beyourbestself

Today, at 1 in the afternoon, we hosted a Group Discussion on "Coping with Expectations". Some very good points were discussed. Here's a summary if you missed it: The group identified 2 main categories of expectations: 1. External 2. Internal External expectations are from parents and society while internal expectations are expectations we have from ourselves. Internal expectations are more important than external, for we know what we are capable of and the expectations we have set for our ownselves should be met. The group also deliberated on, "If expectations are good or bad?", a part of the group believed they are bad, as it only leads to disappointment if expectations are not met but after much discussion, the group concluded, expectations are actually necessary in a person's growth. If there were no expectations then there would be no motivation to push ourselves to reach our goals. Another point that the group agreed on is that unrealistic high expectations from parents and society can affect us emotionally. Hence, we should ensure that all expectations are channelized to better results and not let them weigh heavy on us. It is fine even to ask your parents to have lower expectations from you, if you feel their high expectations are affecting your mental health. // // // This was about this week's Group Discussion. Looking forward to your participation next week. Until then keep outgrowing!
I love love love this poem and this concept. What better way to say "fuck you" to any awfulness you have to go through than to use it for good? What better way to feel empowered? What better way to have some control over feelings of helplessness? What better way to find meaning and purpose in life? 💬 I'm curious, how have you used an experience with mental illness for good for yourself or others? It can be big, small, or tiny, I don't care! It all matters. And that's so true, I'm not just saying that! 🖍 Prismacolor colored pencils on mixed media paper 🖼 9" x 12" ⏱ this took me 21 hours (plus an unknown number of hours to design the drawing's outline) to complete #coloredpencils#coping#counseling#fuckdepression#mentalhealthart#mentalhealthrecovery#selfempowerment#truthbomb

for the lack of a better metaphor: tonight’s sunset was like a glimpse into my current heart “situation”... it’s bright and dark. it’s light and heavy. it’s cheery and pained. it’s expanding and contracting. the waves of emotions roll around the rocks that are hope and grief. but we are here for another day... and i’m grateful for that 🙌🏻
