Eating dinner outside in March! I wasn't expecting this AT ALL, but I'm really really loving it. Tonight's patio dinner is KOHLRABI OVEN FRIES (because I have a million pounds of kohlrabi lying around) but also because honestly? I actually think they're better than potato oven fries. And that's coming from a gal who LOVES her potatoes and rejects most non-potato foods that masquerade around as fries 😳. We grated Bulgarian feta all over these bad boys and had them with some roasted pepper spread on fresh bread with MORE feta. A couple of cold beers and a sunset, and I am a content human being😌. I've been wanting to make these Cassava Chip Nachos for about 10 days. It was worth the wait! It was also worth the 3+ hours in the kitchen. (Next time will go quicker). I'm new to cooking with cassava, and I'm eager to learn more. Recipe below👇 . . . Nachos with Oven-Baked Cassava Chips, inspired by @dianemorrisey and her Irish Pub-Style Nachos. Thank you, Diane! . 1) Line a 9x13 baking tray with parchment paper. 2) Arrange #mealprepped baked cassava chips in one even layer (do this very artfully, if you choose!)🎨 3) Add your toppings of choice. In this case: #cooksillustrated beef taco filling, shredded cheddar cheese, and jalepeño two-ways (diced & raw / sliced & pickled). 4) Bake at 350°F for about 10 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly (ideally producing "accidental" fried cheese along the edges of the pan) 5) Top with cilantro - lots of it! Add some Moroccan-spiced chickpeas, if you wish... 6) Serve with your choice of toppings: salsa, avocado or gauc, sourcream or yogurt, more jalepeños, more cilantro, lime wedges...Whatever you fancy. 7) Dig in and enjoy!
PINEAPPLE & STEAK TACOS 🌮🍍😍 One of my favorite combos ever, I marinated the steak with soy sauce, ginger, garlic, cayenne, salt and pepper for 24 hours. Gave it a quick sear on each side for 2 minutes and then topped it with red onions, pineapple, tomato, avocado, culantro, and sriracha. I have enough leftover for lunch tomorrow and I couldn't be more happy 😁
This is another fav of mine from days gone by. Forged from a quarter inch bar of 1095, which is always a pleasure to work with. Handled with spalted Maple, Padauk and Ziricote if I'm remembering correctly.
For dinner tonight I made moo shu veggie wraps with hoisin sauce from the @forksoverknives forksoverknives Flavor cookbook. I did make a couple of tweaks based on personal preference (subbed baby kale fit cilantro because #ilovekale ) and trying to avoid food waste so I skipped the scallions since I can’t buy just two scallions. Aku tau kamu males kan mau scroll2 ke bawah🤣 Terang Bulan Source : Evilina To Bahan : 250gr terigu segitiga 1sdt baking powder 75gr gula pasir 1/4sdt garam halus 1kuning telur 1 butir telur antero (telur utuh) 350ml air Bahan tambahan per loyang : 1/4sdt baking powder 1/4sdt soda kue Bahan taburan per loyang : 1sdm butter 1sdm gula pasir Topping sesuai selera ya Caranya : * Campur dan ayak terigu dan baking powder. Tambahkan gula pasir, garam, dan kuning telur. Aduk rata. Mixer dgn kecepatan rendah sampe lembut * Diamkan adonan selama 1jam, adonan siap digunakan * Panaskan cetakan dgn api kecil smp benar2 panas. Bagi adonan menjadi 2 bagian, aku pake cetakan 22cm * Sesaat sblm dituang, masukkan baking powder dan soda kue. Aduk rata. Tuangkan adonan, biarkan hingga adonan berbusa/lubang kecil2. This is definitely one of my favorite things to make when I don’t want to spend a lot of time actually cooking. There’s a bit of prep-work up front, but then you just throw it in the oven and it is SO worth it!! One-Sheet Veggie Chicken Dinner Ingredients: - 3-4 chicken quarters - 1 red bell pepper - 1 cup baby carrots, chopped - 1 large yellow squash - 1 head broccoli - 1/2 red onion, chopped - Spices (I use dried oregano, onion powder, garlic powder, dried parsley, thyme) - Olive oil - Salt & pepper, to taste Directions: 1) Preheat your oven to 400°F. 2) Dice all of your vegetables into even bite-sized pieces. 3) On a large baking sheet lay out your chicken quarters (or whatever kind of chicken you’re using). Add vegetables and season with spice mix and olive oil. 4) Mix everything up so all sides are covered. 5) Place baking sheet in the oven and let cook at 400°F for 25 minutes. 6) ENJOY 😋 #chickendinner#homechef#rainbowveggies#healthy#cookingathome
