Day 24 of @myhousethismonth - door: this is the door from our hallway into our dining room. Not that long ago I'd ensure that this room was insta-ready, or as close as I could get it. But - can I be honest here with you, insta-friends? - this month I'm finding this challenge a bit of, well, a challenge. I think I'm having an Instagram brain freeze right now as I'm finding it hard to come up with new things to show you (feet in flipflops, for example!), which is in turn affecting my attitude towards photographic perfection. I still love seeing little squares of other people's houses, but I'm struggling to find the enthusiasm or inspiration to post myself at the moment. Maybe I've just used up all my best angles and props and have simply run out of steam! The My House This Month challenge is supposed to be fun, right? Perhaps I need to step back a little, and look to posting as and when I feel like I want to, or when I feel that I have something to post about, rather than feeling the pressure to respond to the challenge every single day. Anyhow, for what it's worth, here's the dining room view from the door! The bed frame has been there for weeks as the Husband scratches his head and tries to work out how best to paint it and then sell it. The sound system / TV is a bugbear of mine but it works so we keep it - it's so old it's almost antique now! And the rest I'm pretty happy with... @littlehouseinlondon @__itslucy__
Midsommar & Sankthans! 🍓⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Kram, Nina 🤗⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I’m back home so normal service of pictures of our house has resumed 😜. Although only for a few days as I’m off to @glastofest on Thursday - trying to hold the excitement in (three sleeps!) 💃🏻 (Gifted items: Noel sign from @nextofficial, ice bucket from @verre.vert and @Tom dixonstudio candle holder from @amaraliving. I paid for the lamp but I’ve worked with @debenhams before) . . . #livingroomdecor#eclectichome#interiorinspo#cornerofmyhome#noelgallagher#barcart#interiorandhome
Whoop! This is absolute no-news, but today is a Good Hair Day! Specifically in that my hair (which I grow, then get fed up of, then get cut short, then regret and grow it again, then worry that - in my mid-forties - I'm too old for longer hair, then think feck it and grow it out again, ad infinitum..) is now long enough to put up and properly stay up!! Whoop again! Yes I'm wearing my scanky 'house cardigan' which the family think is rank but I love cos it's comfy; yes my hair is actually a mess; yes I'm wearing little to no make up (but my eyes are actually that colour folks, no filter; always loved my eyes, less so other bits...) but today, insta-friendlies, is a bloody good day. Bring forth the hair bobbles, and let's see how long it takes until I cut it short again! 😆
Day 24 #storyofmyhome The Proof of the Pudding - I don’t eat puddings, not because I don’t like them, but I try to have zero sugar intake as I’m diabetic. Eating low carb trying my best to reverse that though 👍🏻 - Instead, I’m going to go on about how you can have a luxurious looking home without spending a fortune. I think I’ve achieved it, the proof of the pudding right there! I think it’s important to develop your own style, trust your instincts and it will generally work. That way you get a home that’s unique to you, who wants to be the same as anyone else after all? I know what I love, it’s just a matter of finding it. That’s where the fun starts! I love finding things on eBay, or charity shops, car boot sales. Even if it’s not perfect, that’s sometimes part of the charm. Things can always be painted or re-covered, and you’ve stopped something from going to landfill, and saved a few quid at the same time! In this room, my leopard chaise was from eBay, I held my nerve for the auction rather than clicking buy-it-now, so glad as no one else bid! One of my fave things 😍 And the Chinese cabinet was another, only me bidding! It hides the tv, perfect! I bought the Tretchikoff years ago, before they were selling for ridiculous prices, £20 or so from memory 👍🏻 The ceiling light was ex-display from BHS 👍🏻 The rug was from eBay, perfect condition too (after I had to take my beautiful peacock Plantation rug to the tip, cheers Peggy dog). Age of Reason cushion (again) in a half price offer. Little ceramic tiger £5 FB marketplace 😉 And look at my recent find, beautiful embroidered peacock picture for £5 🥳🥳🥳 See? Barely spent anything, but most importantly, I love it! Happy bargain hunting lovelies 😘 - - @storyofmyhome
I added some ✨ B L I N G ✨ to the corner of the kids room today. This gold foil chandelier is from the party section at @kmartaus 🙌🏼👏🏼🙌🏼 I have hung it off the ugly light fitting and it looks fab in this corner. Olive is obsessed with it and Van wanted to swing off it 😳🤦🏼♀️

Green is a naturally relaxing colour for the eye and is known as the colour of growth. In this bedroom, you get a lot of energy, vibrancy and happiness due to the bright green wall colour. With an added slide, it creates and engaging environment that can help a child’s development.
Children’s rooms are so much fun! They should be a whimsical space, engaging yet calming, explorative yet fun. The bespoke mural personalised the space and making it utterly unique! The birdcage chandelier is a good touch don’t you think?
“As with all design trends, if you can’t bring yourself to leap in, save yourself the angst and add an accent in the form of a painting or fabric on the back of a dining chair - even a small hint can make a difference and require little effort! Is anyone in a relationship with the air conditioner recently? It has been dreadfully hot this week but this interior got us feeling cooler. The fresh green is a wonderfully calming foil for our hot and humid climate. Mix it with an abundance of white to create interiors that ooze serenity and feel the temperature drop.
An ultimate fashionista’s pad. Combining some fun colour choices and experimenting with pattern and unusual proportions to make the space utterly unique. As we say it, if it makes you smile, it can’t be wrong.
