You could not pay me to be 21 again. I'm older (nearly twice that). I'm wrinklier. I understand eyebrows require grooming. I weigh more. I eat vegetables. I know my shit and have the experience and education to back it up. I can lift heavy things. I start conversations with strangers. I've forgiven those who broke my heart. I've learned you can become friends with former enemies, when you actually learn to see people for who they are and not what someone told you they were. I have a tribe and I know they have my back. I hike alone and I don't worry what people think. I am comfortable in my skin. This is 41 and I own every bit of it. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
How many of you also have trouble focusing on the PRESENT moment? 👋🏽 I know it’s something I’m totally guilty of and I’ve been working on it a lot. - It’s so easy to think “I can’t wait for ____.” Or “things will be better when ____.” - I’ve found myself doing that a lot lately. Not even that anything is bad right now - we just have so many exciting things coming up this year! - I’ve been thinking “I can’t wait for our wedding!” 👰🏼🤵🏼 or “I can’t wait for Tyler to graduate and get a job this spring after being back in school for 3 years for a 2nd degree so he doesn’t have to study at night” or “I can’t wait to see where Tyler gets that job so we can look at houses & move into a new house!” 🏡 or “I can’t wait until all of that happens ANDD we get another puppy! 🐶” 😂😂 - You see what I mean? It’s GREAT to look forward to things. But it’s also important to enjoy the MOMENT. Enjoy where you are RIGHT NOW. Enjoy the JOURNEY. - And remember, where you are right now, is probably something you “couldn’t wait for” at one point either 😊 I’m currently making this post from my bed, cuddling with Kaiya, finishing my morning routine of personal growth & reading, & about to jump on a Mastermind call in my yoga pants & comfy sweatshirt. I used to DREAM of these little moments too instead of sitting in my cubicle in my business clothes & shoes that were uncomfortable 👠 - I challenge you today to enjoy the PRESENT. Have something to look forward to, but enjoy the ride in the meantime ☺️🎢
