So I survived the great @instagram outage of 2019 by enjoying some delicious pizza at @angelisonhigh with @thebaltimorefoodie @thefoodadventurer @fleetstreetwriteup @danastargazertruitt and @bmoreculinary. The hardest part was not being able to share it with you until now. The Angeli’s story began in 1986 in New Orleans, Louisiana. It was a small restaurant in a vibrant neighborhood with a goal to provide it’s community with delicious food, cooked fresh daily. As the years went by, they created a family friendly atmosphere with the help of our employees. All was well, until Hurricane Katrina hit, leaving them financially limited and unable to hold on to their beloved Angeli’s. Since its closing, they had always pondered the prospects of bringing back the Angeli’s brand. Little Italy gave us an opportunity to make what was once a possibility into a reality, and bring back Angeli’s to a neighborhood as vibrant and as colorful as the one that they fell in love with all those years ago. In their over thirty years of restaurant experience, the customer has come first. Their guests, know that we will always keep high standards for food and service. Just because the restaurant is casual, doesn’t mean they take what they do casually. They are committed to working with local farms and Italian Imported products, to give guests an authentic Italian food experience. Pizzas you see pictured here are: Margherita with Light marinara sauce, fresh mozzarella, shredded parmesan, fresh basil and roasted cherry tomatoes. Miro Special with Garlic herb sauce, mozzarella, marinated chicken breast, pancetta and fresh spinach. Veggie Angeli with Pesto sauce, roasted cauliflower, roasted eggplant, cherry tomatoes and feta cheese. Angeli’s Pick with Marinara sauce, mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, Italian sausage, red onions, mushrooms and red bell peppers. Chicken Pesto with Pesto sauce, mozzarella cheese, marinated chicken breast, red onions and red bell peppers. Della Carne
Making beef stew with @guinnessus is a stew-pendous idea. 🍵 @dgritzer's recipe on @seriouseats came to the rescue. Coffee and dark chocolate reinforce Guinness' roasted flavors, and the triple threat of fish sauce, soy sauce and Wrcestershire sauce gives this hearty dish an umami punch. There's also the genius tip of avoiding mushy, overcooked vegetables by using large chunks of the aromatics, then tossing them for fresh diced veggies that are lightly sauteed and added near the end.
Still not over how insanely thoughtful/wonderful/adorable @vaccaros_pastry_shop is!!! They sent me a lil care package full of these *amazing* homemade Italian cookies with the most wonderful handwritten note 🥰 definitely need to stop down for another sweet treat soon!
