The dawning sun is a thing of beauty. Strange that we don’t regard it with more awe, because as Cecilia Payne-Gaposchkin said “The Sun, it’s surface is a seething, surging sea of atoms. Plumes of gas float above it; glowing filaments surge upward; shinning fountains cascade downwards. Giant tornadoes swirl through it. Spicules rise and dissipate like darting flames. Dazzling flames blaze up and vanish. A brilliant chromosphere ring it; around it gleams the aura of the corona at a temperature of about a million degrees.!” I don’t think I’ve heard a more poetic way of describing the sun. I always feel happy and blessed to have tea in the cool and crisp sunny mornings. ☀️ Been drinking lots of @teaurchin Bulang Beauty. A complex ‘14 Sheng Puerh which has some older gushu tea mixed in. Have had it for 2 years and have had 3 consecutive tea sessions. It has a honey, peppery taste with notes of peach and hay and a thick hugain with strong cha Qi - #gongfucha#thesun
1999 Iron Cask Dong Ding @floatingleavestea #floatingleavestea for #donderdagdongdingdag . . This tea is part of the sampler I purchased some time ago. Had some hard time deciding on a pot. So I picked 2 pots. Started in modern zhuni but switched to high fired hongni as it has thicker walls and retains heat better. This tea is very special. Looks like it didn’t have any touch ups. To sum up the taste: plum vanilla custard tart. Spicy with cooling sensation. Great energy. Very warming starting from neck and going down to shoulder blades like a heating pad. It didn’t make me drowsy or hyper which is great (not a fan of those states) just calming. I had 7 steeps and put it on pause for now. Thank you for sourcing this special DD @floatingleavestea ! . . .in other news I know many of us experienced IGquake yesterday. Quite an annoying thing but I was prepared. Highly recommend backup messaging apps with your friends if you need to chat. . . Also #copycats are annoying little shits (pardon me) even if they say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. The only way to beat it is always be ahead, it’s motivating. So #goaheadmakemyday but maybe #blueaintyourcolor ...
2003 Blue Mark for #bluemonday I got this sample back in 2016 with @toby8653 1st curated box. As usual some samples were not tried and I have no explanation to my strange tea habits. I see some of you are anxious to try teas as soon as you open the box. Anyways I’m glad today was the day finally. It was great! Everything I love in mid aged sheng. Clean clean clean storage. Smoothness. Incense. Very decent longevity. Powerful Qi. Don’t let those refined flavors deceive you. It is a strong tea. Thank you so much @toby8653 (I hope it’s never too late, right?) . . . A rare sighting, my honey pouring our afternoon session. We sampled @crimsonlotustea ‘s 2010 Black Gold, super smooth, notes of Concord grape skins & a compromise between baker’s chocolate & mixed nuts. As the steeps went on, the dominant flavor shifted to an astringent, lightly peachy note that reminded us both more of sheng pu-erh, but still dark & ripe. I felt more settled & grounded, with a bodily relaxation that I attribute as much to the treat of my beloved pouring, as to the tea. . . . . . #shoupuerh#gongfucha#chabu#teaisamood#tealife#tea
Longan Charcoal Roasted Wuyi Oolong Winter’ 16 @ecochateas #ecochateas#ecochateaclub#revisit . . I remember it being a little too roasty for my tastes (which is normal for a freshly roasted oolong). A couple of years did do their magic. Its settled by now. Rich, fruity and nutty. Very enjoyable...until I forgot to pour my teapot. Oops... I can only blame myself. Maybe the music too, I got distracted. But in a couple steeps, it went back to a nice one. . . . In other news I start watching The Umbrella Academy last night. No opinion yet. . .
