Autobiography in Five Short Chapters By Portia Nelson I walk down the street. There is a deep hole in the sidewalk I fall in. I am lost ... I am helpless. It isn't my fault. It takes me forever to find a way out. II I walk down the same street. There is a deep hole in the sidewalk. I pretend I don't see it. I fall in again. I can't believe I am in the same place but, it isn't my fault. It still takes a long time to get out. III I walk down the same street. There is a deep hole in the sidewalk. I see it is there. I still fall in ... it's a habit. my eyes are open I know where I am. It is my fault. I get out immediately. IV I walk down the same street. There is a deep hole in the sidewalk. I walk around it. V I walk down another street. Recovery and healing are never straight lines. today: morning snuggles; walk to the gym in the chilly air; watching O and G have so much fun playing with a box; nowhere to rush to; noticing how much relief I get when I surrender; brunch outside on a beautiful LA winter day; O saying “omg snowflakes; quiet afternoon cleaning together; pillow fights and cuddles; when O uses big words like undermining; E coming home early; getting some important work done and dealing of future projects; a yummy dinner; laughing at dinner and hearing about kind things everyone did today; hearing about S’s day; S’s love of fruit; warm cozy bed; watching GOT with E.
Was talking to a badminton coach who won an Olympic medal in his playing days for over an hour straight recently. In the discussion, the conversation moved on to what athletes really want from their careers. Do they want sponsors? Do they want free kit? Do they want popular Instagram profiles? Do they want fame? Do they want to go to competitions to win, or just to go for a holiday? It was a deep conversation and the end point was this - that we as people need to take a good look at ourselves and ask what we see in the mirror and to say whether or not we are satisfied with what we see. It doesn't mean being unhappy you have new zit on your nose - but it does mean questioning yourself on the deepest level. You can lie to others, but you can't lie to yourself. I've used this exercise in the past, when actually I would avoid looking in the mirror because I didn't like what I saw. Standing up and being brave enough to face yourself down, stare into your own eyes for a minute and confirm to yourself what you want and what you're going to do to get it. Ask yourself whether you're satisfied with who you are now. And when you're done, start behaving like the person that you want to become. You have control over who you become. #mdperformancepsychology#psychology#resilience#mentalskills#mentalstrength#mentality#confidence#selfconfidence#powerlifting#performance#reflection#honesty#athlete#rebt#cbt#sportpsychology

- PTSD - * PTSD is why I don't have a job and can't keep one for long, It's why my mood changes so quickly, its why my pulse can go over 140bpm and just sitting, it's why my depression keeps lingering around, it's why I have night terrors, its why I have a hell of a time trying, and staying asleep, it's why I have to have no contact, it's what my parents have done to me and said to me that won't stop following me, the trauma caused by them is like blood sucking leaches that drain me of all I have. *good or bad, positive or negative my family is very toxic for me in so many ways, childhood neglect is my biggest and foremost damaging to my adult well being, to suck it up doesn't even come close to how hard it was to learn to cope with pain from an early age. Wanna know why I have a high pain tolerance? I never got listened to and I had to deal with all the shitty things my body had to suffer through. It's why I have triggers getting surgeries, PTSD is why certain questions or being asked too many questions sets me overboard. *PTSD is why I don't have real friends in real life, it's why I have trust issues, abandonment issues, it's why I lose interest in so many hobbies so quickly, being in too many car accidents with my mom gives me triggers of driving my own car.(for the longest time I still have the feeling someone will crash into me head on going top speed and I can see and feel my face getting smashed) it's why I zone out and have a hard time getting my point across. *I'll try to be more gentle with myself I promise trying is effort and thats all that matters.

✅Часто в основе тревоги лежат иррациональные переживания человека. Repost: @anxiety_wellbeing @anxietysupport.info 🌵A plant needs water, sometimes lots of light sometimes little, fertilizer, trimming etc. Each plant has a need. . What are your needs? . 🌱Take some time to become aware of your needs, try not to block this question with doubt or guilt, thinking that it's silly or how can you? Or its not for you! Everyone is different try not to compare your needs to others. . 🌵You must look after your needs. Make a little time in your day for what you need, make it happen, make it a priority. YOU are a priority. 🤗 . It's the best medicine ❤ .
If you cope with your anxiety instead of learning ways to build tolerance to it, you’re likely stuck worrying “what if” your intrusive thoughts and scary feelings return and continue feel robbed of your confidence. There’s another way. Build tolerance to the thoughts and change your behavior to demonstrate that feeling bad does not equal danger. Only by behaving can we have proof we are ok. DO THE THING ▪ We often decide that we need to feel motivated before we go to the gym, or need to feel confident before we go out to make new friends, or we need to feel 100% ready before we take the next big step. ▪ While we're waiting for motivation, confidence or readiness, our world stays small. We stay at home, don't meet new people, don't try new things, because we are waiting for that moment where all of the internal conditions are perfect. Then we end up feeling stuck, which makes it even harder to feel motivated and confident. ▪ The thing is though, if you wait for motivation, confidence or readiness to come, you might be waiting a while. In reality, the path to motivation is doing the thing. The path to confidence is doing the thing. The path to readiness is doing the thing. ▪ Your life will expand, and with that expansion, the feelings of motivation, confidence and readiness will naturally grow. Not only because you've built momentum, but you are giving yourself ACTUAL REAL EXAMPLES of moments where you were motivated enough to do it, where maybe you weren't fully confident but things went well, and to see that you are more ready than you think you are. ▪ DO THE THING and the feelings will follow. ▪ "It is easier to act yourself into a better way of feeling than to feel yourself into a better way of action." -O.H. Mowrer ▪ ▪ ▪ ▪ ▪ ▪ PC @wellnessstockshop

Combining the @doc_amen Brain Health Coaching and CBT for Executive Function impairments, provides a full wrap around intervention. # It’s not lack of attention, it’s a Regulation of attention, mood, impulse and so on. Then it’s a matter of looking at how healthy the brain is, which areas are overactive and which are under active. # I’ll get my first Spect scan this week, and I can’t wait to find out EXACTLY, which protocol my brain needs. Then tailoring my supplements, diet, exercise, and coaching strategies to my brain! # We owe it to ourselves to Test and not Guess, to speed up the healing process 💫! # Talk therapy is important, however when ADHD/ ADD is the diagnosis, then CBT Coach-Therapy is imperative!!!! This CBT coach-therapy is like the software and improving the: -sleep -exercise -diet -water -supplements -hormones -heavy metals, toxins, viruses, bacteria, funguses and gut function. will help to manage the hardware (brain) ! # You can’t accept anything less than a full and robust program. CLC MEMBER FEATURE: Hi, my name is Ula and I am 26 years old and have been suffering from severe clinical anxiety in the form of panic disorder, agoraphobia, and generalized anxiety disorder for close to seven years. My life changed one summer day at the age of 20, when I had my first panic attack. Out of the blue, my heart started racing, my muscles felt weak, I felt like I was going to pass out and as thought nothing was real and I was in a dream. • The severity of my panic attacks disabled me and sent me into depression, and it was very hard for me to be left alone, drive alone, or be outside of my own home. I felt like a prisoner in my own head, and the pain and agony was unbearable. It felt like having a nonfatal heart attack 3 to 4 times a day while simultaneously being flooded with feelings of terror for no real reason. • Years later, I was diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder: severe, sustained anxiety and worry about everyday life issues. Throughout the years, I have had many ups and downs: psychiatric visits, therapists, cognitive behavioral therapists, medication, acupuncture, and 7 weeks in an intensive outpatient program. I am currently on a waiting list for my second admission to an anxiety disorders center. I want to teach people about anxiety disorders and become an advocate and spread the message that no one should be ashamed of their mental health issues, it isn’t a choice. Mental health is a journey, healing isn’t linear, but I have hope that I will find a treatment that will improve my quality of life so I can live it to MY fullest potential. #chronicloveclub
CBT is one of the most recognized modalities in Mental Health. The basis of this model is that Thoughts or Cognitions lead to feelings and emotions and those emotions feed into your behavior. The negative thoughts you have cause negative feelings and lead to decision making that produces unwanted results. Often we struggle with Automatic thoughts that lead to feelings that feed into Anxiety, Depression and other mental health challenges. Change the Thought, and the Feeling and Behavior will change. Three tips that can help: 1. Identify the thought that arises from your situation 2. Examine the thought to evaluate if it is rational. (Example: Situation:He stared at me. Thought: He got a problem. Emotion: Anger) 3. Identify at least two alternative thoughts you could use to replace irrational thought #cbt#intervention#modalities#thoughts#feelings#behavior#cliftonbrightlcpc#techniques#mentalhealth#mentalhealthawareness#theory#therapist#blackmaletherapist#support

. . #psicoconsejo#psicoconsejos#psicologa#psicología#tcc#cbt#psicologiacomamor#psychologist#mentalhealth#saludmental#mecanismosdedefesa#psicóloga#pucmm#nebrija
