This belly is a source of so much anxiety. It is heavy. It hangs low and flaps around. It causes me so much uncomfortableness. I have to be careful with certain clothes I wear. I constantly feel the need to wear tank tops under t shirts and other tank tops, to cover up this apron belly of mine. I have to wear high waisted pants and leggings to try and cover it up. My underwear has to be several sizes larger than it needs to be, to cover up the skin. I’ve come so far and have lost so much weight. I’ve worked so hard for this body of mine. This body that has carried life. This body that has carried me as morbidly obese and carries me now, so much more fit and active. More than I’ve ever been in my entire life. Do I regret losing weight? Not at all. I’ve gained a life that I never dreamed of having. But my stomach is a burden. It hangs low and is an apron. And I want it gone. My drs office called my insurance company to find out what I have to have documented in order to have a panniculectomy. A panniculectomy is a surgical procedure to remove the pannus (excess skin and tissue from the lower abdomen.) This skin is sometimes referred to as an “apron.” Unlike a tummy tuck, a panniculectomy does not tighten the abdominal muscles for a cosmetic appearance, disqualifying it as a cosmetic procedure. And..... my insurance will pay for it! No stipulations!!! I’m in shock and so elated! My goal is to get down to my goal weight, so 10-15 more lbs and maintain for 9-12 months and then have the surgery. I won’t have to worry about my skin flapping around anymore. No more anxiety or heaviness from the skin laying so heavy on my body. It’s a hinderance and knowing that I have this option to have it removed is amazing. My hard work of losing all of this weight has really paid off. I just can’t believe it. 😭😭😭 112 lbs gone forever. #fitfam#over100lbslost#naturalweightloss#dontgiveup#emotionaleatingrecovery#looseskin#looseskinremoval#apronbelly
I know you’ve failed more than your fair share of failures. ⠀ You’ve screwed up. ⠀ You’ve fallen off the wagon. ⠀ You’ve made bad decisions more times than you can count. ⠀ Sometimes you feel you just don’t have the willpower or self-discipline to make fitness a priority. ⠀ This couldn’t be any more untrue. ⠀ Making progress isn’t about willpower or self-discipline, it’s about building skills. ⠀ This doesn’t even have to be fitness; it can be anything. ⠀ Don’t allow failure to discourage you; it is a crucial component of your journey. ⠀ Failure develops perseverance and grit; it teaches you to solve problems. ⠀ You’re going to fail. Probably a lot. ⠀ This is a good thing. ⠀ You’re not going to be skilled at first—no one is. ⠀ The key to improving yourself? ⠀ Start. Fail. Fail more. Fail better. ⠀ You’re never more than a failure away from a massive breakthrough. ⠀ But if you give up... You’ll never know. You’ll always wonder what if. You’ll look back with regret. ⠀ Because you’re afraid to fail? ⠀ No... ⠀ My friend, you’re not afraid to fail... you’re afraid of what other people will think of you if you fail. ⠀ Why do you care what your family thinks about your failure? Or your friends? Or Johnny Numbnuts from work? ⠀ It’s not their life, it’s yours—start acting like it. ⠀ Fail more. Fail better.
So this happened I’ve got an Indian but in all fairness it’s picky bits 🤭🤗 so I’m slightly over today but it could be worse! 😅 #health#diet#calories#caloriecounting#caloriedrfecit#mealplans#sw#1200cal#mfp#myweightlossjourney#myweightloss#weightloss#myfitnesspal#fitness#caloriesinandout#slimming#slimmingworld#weightwatchers#slimmeroftheweek#onplan#offplan#dieting#myfitnesspalapp#myfitnesspaljourney#myfitnesspaldiet#caloriedeficit#slimmer#slimming#healthy
#repost @cartergood (@get_repost) ・・・ Here's How Every Diet Works... — DMs I’ve been sent the past week: ⠀ “I went Paleo and lost weight without tracking my food." ⠀ "As soon as I stopped eating meat, I lost 20 pounds. Didn’t count a single calorie.” ⠀ Listen, I have zero doubt these folks were able to lose weight without tracking or counting their calories... ⠀ But just because they didn’t monitor or track or count or log or eyeball their calories... ⠀ It doesn't mean calories don't count. ⠀ In fact, the ONLY way any diet will help you lose weight is through creating a calorie deficit. ⠀ With Weight Watchers, it's "points.” With Keto, it's eliminating processed junk foods. ⠀ The Bottom Line: ⠀ Every single diet approach that works has strategies & rules in place to help you eat more whole foods, fewer junk foods, and as a result —> fewer calories. ⠀ So how can YOU benefit from this knowledge? 🤔 ⠀ You can start focusing LESS on trying to find the "magic" diet and start focusing MORE on what actually matters, and make it work for you! ⠀ Like eating low carb? do it! Enjoy tracking your WW points? Right on! ⠀ For myself, and most of my clients, I ❤️ calorie counting & food journaling. ⠀ Reason being, it teaches them the fundamental truths about every single food they eat. ⠀ (Once you know the general calories & macros of everyday foods, you get WAY better at estimating portions and staying flexible with your day-to-day diet 👌) ⠀ Whatever diet you choose, though, just remember the foods and systems of the diet aren't what melt away the pounds. ⠀ It all comes down to consistently eating in a calorie deficit 💯 ⠀ ⠀ ONE LAST THING —> If you wanna learn more about the fundamental truths of fat loss nutrition & exercise, and the strategies I use with my online clients, then click the link in my bio to enroll in my FREE Fat Loss Course! ——— ⠀ #cartergood#weightloss#weightlossjourney
So I’m going to be completely honest with myself and you. . For as long as I can remember I’ve always thought I am not enough. . Not clever enough, not brave enough, not strong enough, not pretty enough or even at all, not thin enough and not likeable enough. . . My goal for this year is to really push myself, get myself out of my comfort zone and believe in myself 🙋🏻♀️ . . Deep down I know I’m loved even though I don’t know why. . . I need to start to love myself and learn that I am enough and need to stop worrying constantly about how I look or what people think about something I have said. I need to just love me and love the moment 🦋
Not even putting a filter on this 🥵🥵 somehow missed spin class due to weird timings?! Had an initial ‘screw u guys I’m going home’ moment but then did some HIIT sprints on the stair master for half an hour instead 🙌🏼
❓Did you know that burning 3,500 calories is required to lose a single pound of fat? By @kylethumm ⠀ 😵3500 makes it sound like a HUGELY impossible task ☹️ ⠀ 🚴After all, even after an intense workout out you usually only burn 600-800 calories (if you are working your ass off) ⠀ 🤔So how does anyone accomplish fat loss? ⠀ 🔑 The key is that we need to change your mindset. ⠀ 💊It is human nature to look for a 'quick fix,' but as with most things in life, there is not going to be one. The only solution is persistent hard work (sorry to burst your bubble 😉) ⠀ 👨🏫Introducing the 500 calories per day principle.... ⠀ 🔥Burning 500 calories per day is a much more achievable goal. If you can accomplish this via exercise every single day, then you would be on track to burn 1 pound of fat per week. ⠀ 💭It seems like a lot of work to only burn 1 pound huh? Keep in mind that this doesn't take into account diet (which is much more important for fat loss). ⠀ 🥦Now let's apply the same principals to our diet: ⠀ 🍎Take a look at your current diet plan and make some healthy swaps to limit your calories. (IE Sparkling Water instead of Soda). If you can cut 500 calories/day (which is very feasible) then that would be another pound of fat loss per week. ⠀ 💪Building habits and routines that implement these rules will put you on track to easily lose over 50 pounds of fat in a single year! Crazy what a little change in perspective can do huh? ⠀ 👍 Think about the bigger picture and make a realistic plan for you crush your goals. ⠀ ♥️Do you think you could manage this?
