Earth, you’re beautiful every day. I just wish more people would appreciate you and care for you... you’re one strong and resilient thing of beauty who’s endured a lot throughout the years—here’s to you 💗 #earthday 🌎
For #earthday, I wanted to share a scene from one of the most wonderful, Earthly places I know. It is so natural, so unbelievably green... I’ve even even desaturated this pic by about 20%, that’s how vibrant in color it is. The 80-foot walls are dripping with cascading plants, mosses and five types of ferns, infused by water dripping down it all into the base of the canyon and collecting in pools cradled by smoothed stones. There is this constant movement, this lovely sound of purity. It cleanses you to the core. Steven Spielberg described it as “an unforgettable natural wonder" — so magical that he chose the location as a backdrop to Jurassic Park 2: The Lost World. Return of the Jedi was filmed in the same area but deeper in the forests. And those are wonderful too! 🌎💦🌱👣 @jonathan_irish tunneling through Fern Canyon at Prairie Creek, Redwood National and State Park, coastal northern California. °•✫ #pictureearth#earthday2019#nationalparkweek#findyourpark#nationalparks#redwood#ferncanyon#californiacoast#natureaddict#vegetation#ferns#mosses#greeneverything#folkgreen#folkscenery#instagram
Brown Pelicans flying high above in heavy fog, headed north as spring arrives along the Pacific... to think that this species was once headed towards extinction should give you pause... if you ever travel to San Francisco, I suggest you head to the Golden Gate Bridge and spend some time there. Look for a "squadron" of these magnificent birds flying by, they are a symbol of our coast that I sure cannot imagine being without... #earthdayeveryday
On this Earth Day, we reflect on our love for this beautiful planet of ours. Coastside Couture is known for our outdoor celebrations, and we are blessed to design with these epic backdrops. The coast from Half Moon Bay down through Big Sur is absolutely stunning and special. We are thankful to call this home and we work hard to honor this earth with our green living practices. Go out and enjoy the sunshine today and be thankful for all this planet gives us. Photo by @brittrenephoto #coastsidecouture#islandfarm#outdoorwedding#californiacoast#redwoods
You never know what wildlife you’re going to see at Yosemite National Park. This coyote has taken up residence across from Upper Pines campground in Yosemite Valley. I first saw him the night before while we were cooking steak by headlamp when he buzzed our site looking for a quick meal. Those eyes.
Howdy Range listeners! Long time no talk. We wanted to drop in your feed today — Earth Day — to let you know about the latest show Amy and Julia have been working on. Happy Earth Day! Today is one of my favorite days. It’s a good time to stop and reflect on ways you can help stop climate change and help the earth. What I have learned over the years is that the key is to not get so overwhelmed by all of the earths problems and just decide to throw your hands up and declare that there is nothing you can do to stop climate change, but focus on the little things you can do. . One thing you can do is live consciously. What I mean by that is by asking yourself, “What kind of impact will this have on the environment when I...?” . For starters every time you eat a meal think about where the food came from. Is it from a local farm that has good environmental practices or was it shipped 1,000’s of miles while using all of those fossil fuels before it ended up on your plate? Or is the chicken you are eating come from a factory farm where the chickens live in cages and fed every antibiotic just to keep them healthy? Not to mention all of those chickens kept in such a small area creates methane gas which is released into the air. We can’t always eat local because otherwise we might not eat at all, but just being conscious of where your food came from will make you aware and then next time you might make the effort to eat local if you have a choice. Just one local meal will cut back on the amount of fossil fuels used. . If more people don’t start living more consciously then this picture of the beautiful California coast will be permanently altered, the water will be so high the mountains won’t be mountains anymore and there will be no more trees because of forest fires. All of your actions have consequences, some are good, others are not, be aware. . #liveconsciously#beaware#earthday#climatechange#eatlocal#globalwarming#californiacoast#gogreen#sustainability#sustainableliving#weonlyhaveoneplanet#dontgetoverwhelmed#onethingatatime#myurbanhomesteadlife#reducereuserecyle#startsmall
