Sometimes you have to take a step back to move forward . It looks bad now but the end result will be well worth it! Removing rust and getting Falkor ready for a fresh splash of colour🖌 as Pep likes to say, you can't make an omelette without cracking an egg 🥚
Sorry we have been MIA for a few weeks, so much has been happening! So here’s an update ~ Odin is officially off his epilepsy medication and has been seizure free for 3 months now 🙏🏼🙏🏼 Ryan has had almost the entire 4 months off work to hang out with us and be a present dad for Odin but it is now time to buckle down back into a bit of work so we can save for our next big adventure. The bus has gone to a new home (bittersweet) and we are beginning a new project in the coming months. For now we have found ourselves a new abode by the beach and will be working on some super cool stuff so stay tuned. From the heart of Adelaide we hope your day is rad 👍🏼🤙🏼✌🏼
Happy Sunday friends! This is your reminder to get hydrated, get your to-do lists for your days/week written; And give yourself (and others) some grace. If your like me, by Sunday evening your setting the tone for your Monday, and you don't want to go into the week feeling overwhelmed or stressed. So take some time to plan this week, tell yourself " yes you can" tackle whatever your hardest to-do list item is, and then allow yourself to relax this evening knowing tomorrow is a new day full of new opportunities. ALSO, I have a challenge for all you beautiful people this week, it's very simple but something I think will benefit everyone, for a whole week, Don't compare yourself to someone else. Try it! And if you find yourself measuring up and comparing yourself to others/another for whatever reason- stop. Reset your mind, acknowledge, encourage and be motivated, but do not compare yourself to others and tell me how your week feels different. That's all friends, I hope you enjoyed the sunshine and have a wonderful evening! And I know it's not said enough, but Thanks for being a part of our tiny living journey!
The first half of the process for installing the insulation. 🔨We used 1.5 inch insulation foam boards from @homedepot . We did something terribly wrong in part II and we teach you how to do it right! Find the second part and some more detail tips on our YouTube channel!
Funny thing about this little bus is that a year ago we were trying to bring it to Colorado from Texas and we were struggling!!! . . We bought it with mechanical problems. It was a sweet rare bus and JT figured he could fix it and flip it. . . A new fuel filter seemed to do the trick for four hours, we put about four more on to get to Colorado. Once in colorado we pulled the fuel tank and put in a brand new one. We then decided to keep it and it's been running like a champ since. . . About 5,000 miles pulling a trailer full of tools, equipment, and materials and no complaints. It even pulled it all the way up I-70 through the mountains and through the desert mountains at 100+° no overheating, just a little slow at times! 🙌🙏 . . Now I need to stop bragging before our luck runs out! 😂 . . Has your adventure rig surprised you on some crazy terrain?
DILLSBORO, NC 2nd stop . First true test of bus life! Went well 👍 . Back in May of this year we took our Honda Civic on a weekend trip to Dillsboro, before we began our bus adventures on the road. We made some awesome friends at the Dillsboro River Company and got our paddle on. We told them all about our bus and our nonprofit. They told us to come back once Carmen was ready to ride! . We came back of course and they kindly let us stay for two nights. We woke up on the Tuckasegee River each morning. We are so grateful that we had some familiarity for our first bus life stop. It couldn’t have been any better. We also met a SUP World Champion Barry Kennon. . 3 Things About Dillsboro, NC 1️⃣ Mom approved rafting at Dillsboro River Company on the Tuckasegee River. Calm enough for kids and wild enough for us hesitant adults 😂. Check them out Dillsboro River Company on Facebook. Adam and Mary are the owners and it’s a great atmosphere. 2️⃣ Great place to learn how to fly fish 🎣 One of the coolest things was watching the abundance of people fly fishing daily. 3️⃣ Nick & Nate’s Pizza in Bryson City (not too far from Dillsboro). If you want to take a trip away from your bus this pizza is excellent. Try The Border Crossing, YUM!
Where to nxt ? to stay or go ! 🤔 Our first stop back on the coast and It’s going to be hard to beat. Endless unoccupied beaches and freedom camp opportunities💦🌴. What more could you want living #vanlife !
