Over the past 5 months we have painstakingly dug 50 decorative bricks out of our #garden. Resigned to the fact that no one would possibly want them, we decided to use them to create raised beds. So they've been living in a sad heap on our patio. Until finally on Sunday something snapped in Kay. She wanted the patio back. So she snapped a photo and posted them as a free item on Gumtree. She was so convinced they wouldn't be wanted, she also posted the ad on 'Trash nothing', and I popped it on Facebook marketplace. Surely someone would want a few of them?? . Well, dear reader... We were INUNDATED with messages. Within 6 hours 3/4 of the bricks were gone, and the rest are being collected tonight. . Goodbye ugly stone bricks! Now we just need to shift all the rubble. Any takers?
Today is my big boys first sports day at school, and of course I’ll be that Mum screaming his name as loud as possible while he’s running along 🤣 Can you believe that we nearly kept this old floor (swipe) to just make do for a few years 🤣 Love my tiles 😍 and the underfloor heating is a bonus on chilly morning ☺️ Have a fab day all!!!
Day 25 **Most Proud Of** #mydailyrenovation @mydailyrenovation . Well, clearly I remain most proud of my boys who’ve not chosen this crazy journey! Pic at end incl husband who is jointly culpable despite telling everyone it’s all my idea...🤪💞 . My personal proud moment, I hope because it’s not reality yet....🥺. Is my kitchen. . I love the corten steel island but I know it will be a little controversial, and I hope it looks as good as it does in the renders. . I’m excited by the way the design team @kitchenmatters interpreted my eclectic ‘wants’ . A Glam Scandi look incorporating....in no particular order.. .pocket doors .a champagne trough .no high stools! .an attached dining table accessible for our eldest .a wine fridge (obviously...) . I also got some lovely ideas I wouldn’t have thought of...an antiqued glass splashback instead of tiles...a fake ‘nib wall’ to create a lovely transition from existing ceiling to new vaulted ceiling, the Novy Panorama hob with integrated extractor that keeps the design sleek and a second dishwasher to help keep the area mess free! . #bungalow#bungalowstyle#bungalowrenovation#kitchendesign#kitchenextension#leicht#leichtkitchens#leichtküchen#novypanorama#siemens#antiquedmirrorglass#glamscandi#scandi
Plans for the back of our house 🏠 Remove a large window and replace with bifold doors, remove old sliding doors to replace with patio doors, secure the garden with fencing, and (eventually) add a deck to create a terrace! (Sketch by a very talented boyfriend, who is over seeing the whole project!🌟)
Morning ☕️ a few ‘befores and today’s’ pics, we’ve had some paving slabs delivered 👋 💁♀️😬 it’s going to be half paved and half Astro turfed, I have no idea what it’s going to look like, we’re just using up the Astro turf from a mistake we made last year. This is the part of the garden that is accessible from the two bedrooms so we wanted it to be clean/low maintenance. After we had demolished the 1960,s conservatory/bus shelter we thought it would be a good idea to try and do the garden in stages, and save money in between each stage, we took down a very old large greenhouse, filled in the leaking pond and had a joiner build the decking (which ended up being twice the size we had asked for 😬) he decked it in plywood which we treated with a million layers of varnish, drilled drainage holes in and covered with Astro turf all 7m x 4m of it! Anyway the decking lasted about 6 months 🤣 it was like walking on a sponge by the end, so we’ve had it re decked with pressure treated wood and we’re re using the AstroTurf and putting it under the trees to one side of the garden and paving the other side, the landscape gardeners we’re using have been brilliant at helping to keep costs down and re using stuff where possible, hoping it’ll be finished by the end of the week 💃 have a lovely day 💐(sorry it’s such a long boring post) #gardenrenovation#gardenreno#decking#mygardentoday#mygarden#bungalow#bungalowrenovation
