Why are acu treatments ~20 min long???? According to HB Kim: It was discovered through Daoist meditation practices that Qi and Blood move through the meridians at the rate of six cun* for each complete inhalation and exhalation.  The total length of the Meridians and Collaterals equals 1620 cun (Nan Jing, Chapter 23). 1620 divided by 6 equals 270, so it is said that 270 breaths are required for Qi to make one complete cycle through the body.  However, this number could vary based on a person's breath rate.  If a person breathes 14 times/minute, it will take 20 minutes (270/14) for Qi to make a complete cycle.  If a person breathes 18 times/minute, only 15 minutes (270/18) will be needed for Qi to make the complete cycle.  Therefore, according to  the  Nan Jing, treatment time can be calculated around 15-20 minutes. . . ~ DO NOTHING. MEDITATE ON STILLNESS ~ •  What has struck me in my breathwork practice recently is the value and importance of integrating what comes up through my meditation practice. Finding the time everyday to sit alone and simply do nothing. Not even following the breath. Making the time to tune into the body and then just rest in the stillness. Every time the mind wonders bringing it back to the sense of stillness arising from the body. •  I think all too often in this world, people go spiritual spade-digging without building the foundations to lay the excavation upon. As such, deep work becomes a merry go-round of excavating and accumulating constantly searching for that next blissful experience. You only have to look at the increasing popularity of plant medicine to see this. •  People have this perception that meditation is meant to be this incredibly blissful, calming experience. It can be, but practiced properly it can be the hardest and most gruelling experience there is. It takes enormous courage to sit on a cushion for a good period of time everyday and face yourself with no distractions. Those who do will purify their minds and heal their bodies at a deeper and more stable level than anyone else. •  As my teacher says, “Rest effortlessly within yourself, leave everything exactly as it is.” Burgs
I have two parents who love me. - While telling me IM the great daughter  I have loyal friends who pick me up when I’m suffering and cheer for me when I’m thriving. - Telling me IM the great friend  I have a dog who makes me feel like I’m the reason he came to earth. - HE THINKS IM THE ONE THAT SAVED HIM  I get to serve quality humans with a creative career from the comfort of my own home. - And they thank ME after the service  I get to spend quality time with my family. - They think THEY are the lucky ones  I get to be outside during the day. - And the sun is just shinning like it can’t wait to tan me.  I get to be included in my oldest sisters journey of parenthood and watch my niece grow into a smart, happy and healthy child under her guidance. As a result, inspiring me to trust that I’ll be a quality mother when the time comes. - They think THEY are so lucky to have an aunt who love them!  I get to travel to beautiful locations and watch my middle sister change peoples perspectives and then their lives - creating a ripple effect of more enlightened human on this planet. As a result, my quality of life continues to improve and ripple on to the people I surround myself with. - She tells me SHE’S grateful for my support and wants ME to be a part of her business!  My external surroundings are nothing short of a miracle that doesn’t go unnoticed of under appreciated.  I’m working on drawing my focus inward in attempt to provide myself with the same love, acceptance and gratitude I feel from and for my external reality. - I will believe what people who love me believe about me.  Everything external is temporary. I can be immensely grateful for everything in my life while also practicing detachment. Even when it’s something wonderful, it’s healthy to practice letting it go. Because in the end, everything must go.  We must practice now to let go with grace. Release our grip of both good and bad in our lives. Turn our focus towards the grounding and

There needs to be a place for the elderly and disabled to participate in Tai Chi. . . A place where the judgment, criticism, and egos take a back seat and Tai Chi is shared out of  love for people and ambition for the healthiest life possible for each unique individual. . . It's not always about fitting your life into Tai Chi stipulation, but it's also about figuring out how to fit Tai Chi into where you are at in life. . . I'm blessed to teach the elderly.  They are fun, have great attitudes, and shamelessly participate. I get to watch progress manifest even at their older age...and I'm glad to be a part of it.

When we link breath with movement, the movement becomes Mindful and easier to do for our muscles. This is because breathing deeply lets our muscles know that it’s okay to relax. Damn I thought I was strongish but I was wrong! .  I tried animal flow and it humbled the hell out of me. Just after the warm up I was dripping and thinking shit I got another 20mins left of this .  The thing that I learnt from doing animal flow is you might be strong doing all these big lifts but when you get down and try to move your body you will soon realise that you might not be as strong as you thought! .  Now I am not an expert on animal flow or anything so I am not going to talk heavily about it until I do more searching and trying it out plus take the level 1 cert on it .  However, let's think about it from a coaching stand point. Most of us myself included are not trying to be on men's health front cover (if you are then cool do your thing). I just simply want to be healthy, look good, feel good, eat good food, move better and overall just feel like a fucking superhuman!! .  Now can lifting heavy weights etc do that to you? Yes!!! But for most of us normal people who works busy jobs and have hectic lived we are not at start in a great position to do so and we don't move so well .  Implementing some animal flow, cardiovascular work, stretching, yoga, structural balance, bodyweight, sub-maximal work plus more is highly beneficial and will then get us to a position whereby we can then do all the heavy lifting and ramp up the anabolic responses to give us that more desired body comp look! . Yogic Breathing to energize the brain 🧠  Do you feel like you need a nap after lunch? 💤  Try this yogic breathing technique as a way to perk up and finish off your workday. ✅Breathe slowly with a 4-7-8 breath count pattern. ✅Press your finger to the left side of your nose to close off the left nostril, while you inhale to the count of four through your right nostril. ✅Lower your chin to the base of your neckline and hold the breath to the count of 7. ✅Release the breath in the left nostril and raise the neck, all to the count of 8. ✅Now breathe in through the left nostril, lower chin to the neckline, hold to the count of 7, breathe out through the right nostril, release the neck. ✅Repeat this cycle several times. (5-30 minutes).
. Finding your happy place. .  During my time in therapy, I quickly learned different types of breathing techniques to help me cope with my anxiety when it gets bad. One of those breathing techniques requires finding your happy place. This right here, is mine. .  In my younger years, Sauble Beach was a go to destination for my family and I. Even though it's a spot only visited once a year, I'll always remember calling this place my second home. There is a feeling I experience every time I come here that isn't quite felt for me anywhere else. .  The first time my therapist asked me to close my eyes and find my happy place, a bubble in which I'm surrounded by and nothing can hurt me, I immediately pictured this exact image. To this day, the image remains the same. Early morning at Sauble Beach, hearing the waves roll in, seeing the seagulls fly above. Listening to a slight cool breeze and the sound of nothing else. No one in sight, just me and my happy place. Breathing in. Breathing out. .  I love it here. Though my childhood was filled with negativity, I can't actually remember anything traumatic that happened with my family during our stays. I'm sure fights happened, but nothing sticks out. That's enough for me. .  This is the first trip I've taken here with my new family, being just my girlfriend and I. I continue to be reminded of why I love it here so much every time I come back. When I'm here, I feel like everything is going to be okay, and when I'm not here, I always bring my mind back to help me cope with the stresses of life. .
