In the first week of September, Desi Springer and John presented a 5-day Bowspring training in Tokyo. It was their fifth year in a row to teach the Bowspring method in Japan under the sponsorship of Mr. Kenta Nakano, who has been practicing Bowspring since taking a Sridaiva yoga workshop with John and Desi in San Francisco in 2013. Kenta-san has taken trainings with us every few months for the last 5 years, and is now bringing the Bowspring method into an increasing number of his 22 yoga studios in Japan! The warmth coming back in to my frozen fingers was still painful, but my mind addressed this information differently than years ago. I could feel more and react less, or rather because I wasn’t as reactive to the pain I could experience it in a new light, a light that offered me insight. It reminded me a bit of acupuncture with needles made of fire. I wasn’t scared like years before because I’ve been here safely before. #practice It was rather fascinating, fully feeling the temporary pain, breathing deeply with it, and knowing that everything was perfect; that I was in fact greatly benefiting from the medicine of the elements. Once the discomfort subsided I settled sweetly into the immense gratitude of my wonderfully functioning - peacefully powerful little hands and fingers.
