What I love about yoga is that there is no competition or there should not be. It’s unlike competitive sport where there must be a winner and a loser. When you practice yoga you always win. Sometimes when I feel unmotivated to practice I remind myself that it can only bring me more. Few sun salutions, meditation or just a 15 minutes yoga workout are worth it compared to doing nothing. ☺️
We tend to forget that main purpose of yoga to control unnecessary  activity of the mind. And then get mind and body connected into one union.  As a result  awareness,  inner balance and calmness can achieved though physical practice.  Of course not every practice has to be vigorous and dynamic sometimes slow motion is what body and mind need.  Listen to that inner voice of yours.. La inclusión del yoga en tratamientos de pacientes diabéticos comenzó en la India hace mas de tres décadas logrando controlar los niveles de azúcar en la sangre, controlar el peso corporal, mejorar la tonificación y funcionamiento muscular, entre otros beneficios . . En la foto vemos a nuestros practicantes realizar la postura del Arco / Dhanurasana en su más básica variación, es una pose fantástica para fortalecer la espalda, combatir el estrés y estimular el buen funcionamiento de los órganos internos. . . Como todo ejercicio los pacientes diabéticos deben consultar previamente con su médico si les es favorable realizar alguna práctica. Para prevenir el problema de la hipoglucemia durante el ejercicio se recomienda comer algo ligero una hora antes de la clase. Sunset Flow... ° Today we finally finished a big job we've been doing in the paddocks, we finished making the new compost bin and we were accepted for our transfer hire car for our South Island trip next week. All in all a good day... I decided to watch the incredible sunset and do a nice chill solo flow... I've been taking it a bit easy with my damaged finger but this stretch was just what I needed after a pretty full on day... I may not be the most bendy flexible yoga girl in the world, but I'm proud of how far I've come, my body's come and my minds come... I never thought I'd get my heels to the ground or even be able to attempt a bow and today they both came so easily... So I must be doing something right! Of course we did have a cheeky fly after as the vibes were just too good..! Now to make some yummy vegan lentil burgers... Buenos días y feliz miércoles! . Continuamos por aquí con el día 11 del reto Stretch Revolution con una de las posturas que más detestaba cuando empecé a practicar yoga. Bow pose. Mientras la hacía era como que: “cónchale no puedo levantar las piernas”; “no puedo arquear mi espalda”; “qué ladilla subir el pecho” xD 😂 yo mentalmente era perezosa y por lo de mis hombros “encogidos” pues me costaba y la consideraba fastidiosa (así como la del camello, que también está en este reto). . Pero de verdad es súper terapéutica. Estiras tu cuello, los hombros, brazos, la columna entera, los muslos, la ingle y ganas fuerza en los músculos de espalda, los glúteos y los isquiotibiales. Demasiados beneficios en una postura. . Para realizarla, colócate acostada boca abajo en la mat con las piernas extendidas y los brazos a los costados con los dedos viendo hacia atrás. Flexiona rodillas y lleva tus pies en dirección a los glúteos. . Agarra tus pies por la parte externa a la altura del empeine, justo por debajo de los dedos de los pies. Barbilla en el piso. Junta rodillas para empezar. . Inhala profundo. . Exhala y comienza a patear las piernas y los pies hacia atrás y hacia arriba. Es como que si los pies estuvieran haciendo mucha fuerza para ir hacia atrás y luego hacia arriba. Estiras las piernas en esas dos direcciones. . Al hacer esto, los brazos y los hombros comienzan a estirarse y ellos ayudan a levantar el pecho. . Mira hacia arriba. A donde va tu mirada, va todo tu torso. . Las rodillas se separan pero trata de imaginar que estás manteniendo un bloque entre ellas para evitar que se separen en exceso. . El abdomen debe quedar en el piso. Si sientes que se está despegando, rueda hacia delante. . Pecho abierto. Corazón abierto. Sigue pateando hacia atrás y hacia arriba mantente aquí por unos 10 segundos. Cuenta normal. Cero apuro. 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1... Suavemente baja las piernas. Lentamente suelta los pies y

Even though is only Wednesday, the past couple of days were about giving myself second chances to step out of my comfort zone, facing the doubts that have been imprinted in me deep down inside for the last couple of years and going back to that same place where rejection was cast on me.  I was reluctant initially to try for that second chance because I'm fearful of getting that same rejection but a samll part of me did want to prove my ability and I do have what it takes and that rejection i got few years ago was out of biasness.  I tried to be calm but inside I was unsettled and nervous. Now that I'm done with this, I felt relief and I'm kinda proud of myself that I managed to face my inner monsters instead of running away.  Side note: My dhanurasana with flip grip, made possible by mentor! There is a sense of spaciousness and expansiveness that comes from opening up through the chest and shoulder, a lovely strength and groundedness through the balance of the standing leg, and a boost of radiance and energy that comes from the asymmetrical backbend. Taking the time to find a strong and stable expression of Half Moon Pose lays the foundation for the beautiful, open-hearted peak of Sugarcane Pose. ::: Sugarcane Pose strengthens the ankles, calves, and thighs, and stretches the hip flexors, groins, quadriceps, hamstrings, chest, and shoulders. The pose gently invites openness into the ribcage and the abdominal muscles, lengthens the spine, and helps improve focus, balance, and coordination. ::: Ardha Chandra Chapasana can cause tension in your hamstrings, especially near the muscle attachments at the sitting bones or back of your knee. If your hamstrings feel tight, bring the floor to you by placing a block under your front hand. A cramping sensation in the standing butt is also common with this pose.
