HUUUUHHH!๐Ÿ˜‚ ๐Ÿ’ฅ ๐Ÿ’ฅ ๐Ÿ’ฅ Last night I was able to successfully press 4 plates each side for 8-10 reps all while making ugly faces and sounds ๐Ÿ˜‚ It’s not much for most, but a huge accomplishment for the smol bodybuilder I am. Majority of the time, I’m unable to press this weight because I’m not adequately hydrated. The days I’m hydrated are the days I lift the heaviest. Ladies, remember to drink about 1 gallon a day and 1.5 if you’re super active. Gentlemen, y’all know the drill with consuming 1.5-2 gallons depending on activity level. It’s important to recognize your water intake and take note of what you eat the day before and day of your workout. Food is fuel and your body the machine. Cheap fuel is going to make your engine run poorly and give you a bad lift. I had diet filled with mostly veggies today and I’m feeling on top of this world. If you’re finding that your current weight for a muscle group isn’t heavy enough, but going up in weight is still tough, just perform the movement slower to feel that burn. The slower the movement, the harder it is to perform. I try to switch up my leg workouts each time by either focusing on strictly lifting heavy or performing slowly. One-armed and dangerous ๐Ÿ˜… ๐Ÿ’‰ ๐Ÿ’‰ ๐Ÿ’‰ I had to get a vaccine today because of a meningitis B outbreak at SDSU ๐Ÿ˜ณ. Little did I know that that shot in my left arm would render it pretty much useless ๐Ÿ˜…. It feels like someone gave me a Charlie horse on my mid delt. So... today was spent doing what little ab exercises I could do and some cardio, and finishing off in the tanner (since I’m pale as a ghost). 4 weeks out until my show and the nerves are kicking in. I feel like I’m not ready, but it’s my first show so I can’t be so hard on myself. Sinusitis can kiss my ๐Ÿ‘ ๐Ÿ‘ ๐Ÿ‘ ๐Ÿ‘ Being sick for 4 days forced me to stay home and recover. Obnoxious as it was to not work out, it’s a reminder that my body comes first over what my mind wants. Cold season is approaching, so make sure you take care of your body! I definitely felt my energy decrease as I was doing leg day. My strength only gave me 5 sets of 8-10 reps on the squat rack and that’s okay. You won’t be able to give the same amount of strength every single workout, but just know that doesn’t mean your strength is decreasing; a lot of factors can contribute to your body not being able to lift the normal amount like dehydration, stress, knots, and aches in your joints. Tiny but mighty ๐Ÿน ๐Ÿงก ๐Ÿงก ๐Ÿงก Bench pressing my way to a bigger chest! Stabilization has always been important for me, especially because I’ve injured my rotator cuffs before. By retracting my scapula and then having my elbows slightly tucked in, I protect my rotator cuffs and utilize my pecs to push through. My elbows might look like they are locked, however in my case I have “double jointed” elbows (I can hyper extend my elbows with ease) so this is me right before my elbows fully extend and lock out.
