'And I wonder what the sound of a heart breaking might be. And I think it might be quiet, unperceptively so, and not dramatic at all. Like the sound of an exhausted swallow falling gently to earth.' This was one of the many points in Tin Man that I had to pause so that I could fully appreciate how @sarahwinman's words made me feel or the way they resonated with me. It's so incredibly beautiful. #howmanywomxn
“You want to know so much about his death, but what do you know of his life?” —————————————— Friendly reminder that the film “loving vincent” exists. If it wasn’t released the same year as Coco I’m sure it would’ve gotten more attention and won the oscar. —————————————— Loving Vincent is an animated film but what sets it apart from other animations is that each frame was painted by over 100 artists imitating van gogh’s art style. I really liked this movie more than other van gogh films because instead of trying to prove which theory regarding van gogh’s death is right, it includes different perspectives of people in his life and lets the audience form their own opinion. The story follows a person who comes to vincent van gogh’s to deliver van gogh’s final letter and ends up investigating his final days there
👆🏻currently reading, and tbh I’m not a fan. I’m a little more than halfway through and almost quit a few chapters ago. I’m trying to tough it out for the sake of book club! Any recommendations for my next book? I love historic fiction & interesting business books, but I’m open to any book with excellent writing & compelling characters! #eleanoroliphantiscompletelyfine
Hi Dear Friends, so in early days of this month i got a bit reading slump, in the meantime i read some compilation of short stories, i was more enjoying it, perhaps it could be one of the thing you could try if you suddenly got it, and i was so glad to find them :). And here what i read, 🌸 A Day in The Life of a Smiling Woman by Margaret Drabble - from the tittle i think it's clear enough, what's about in it, this book had five stories. And it would make you smile after contemplating, reading it one by one, it's so good 😊. 🌸 The Adventure of Sherlock Holmes by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle - well i know i had mentioned this book so oftentimes this month, i just can't get enough with Sherlock, i still want to read more of his story next month !. 🌸 The Lamp by Agatha Christie - probably i am the only one who knew that she wrote Horror story too 🙊 it's good but too short for me, i need more of Agatha's Horror stories!!!. 🌸 Horror Stories by E Nesbit - 5 stories in it and still Horror ! So far i am so glad i found out more Horror stories this month!. 🌸 The Gold Bug by Edgar Allan Poe - quite interesting but i think this book is just not for me :). 🌸 Friend of The Family by Fyodor Dostoyevsky - it's the first time i read his work, and I really can't wait for read more of his books, but i think i have to look for the right time, you know most of his works in big books 🌚. I am so glad i found out new authors i've never heard of and known before like E Nesbit, Margaret Drabble, and still some i haven't mentioned here, what about you? Do you find out the new ones that you end up adoring their writings? . Like always have a lovely day Dear Friends:).
There has been a lot of "writer protagonists" in Stephen King's works. Starting with 1975's 'Salem's Lot' with the character of Ben Mears. There has been Scott Landon from 'Lisey's Story' and Mike Noonan from 'Bag of Bones' and Thad Beaumont from 'The Dark Half' and Bobbi and Gard from 'The Tommyknockers' and of course Jack Torrance from the classic 'The Shining'. One you never hear about is the character of Tess from the novella 'Big Driver' from the collection of novellas 'Full Dark, No Stars'. This is a great character that feels like she is straight out of the 1990's era of King where almost all his work was devoted to exploring the abuse of women and the life long aftermath such as Jessie Burlingame from 'Gerald's Game,' Dolores Claiborne and her daughter, Helen Deepneau from 'Insomnia,' and Rosie from 'Rose Madder.' Tess, like all the females previously mentioned, is a character that goes through hell and then gives hell back. If you were enjoying the novel 'Rose Madder' but didn't care for the supernatural elements, then I would suggest that you read 'Big Driver'. It is a revenge tale that explores vengeance, regret, violation and vigilante justice. Sidenote: the way King describes the aftermath of the rape that Tess experiences, it is done vulgarly, yes, but purposely. It makes the reader uncomfortable, King does his best to display the violation of an unwanted invasion. He wants the reader to feel exactly what Tess is; creating a connection between character & reader.. #stephenking#stephenkingfan#horror#scary#fulldarknostars#constantreader#bookstagramfeature#bibliophile#bookaddict#bookaholic#bookblog#bookblogger#bookclub#bookgeek#bookhaul#bookish#bookjunkie#booklove#booknerd#bookphotography#bookstagrammer#bookworm#bookworms#book#bookbloggers#readersofinstagram#reading#bookporn#bookstagram#literature

🚫Do Not Disturb🚫 Spending the week in Florida and this photo pretty much sums up what I’ll be doing. Half way through The Silent Patient and loving it so far. PS picked this hat up from @target yesterday for $2.50 💁🏻♀️
You’ll be hard-pressed to get me to stop LOVING these covers! I’m yet to do a full read-through of the series (when I last tried to, the library only had 1-4 for some reason, so I’ve got a bit of reading to do!) but I can’t wait to dive into Anne’s world again soon!

. . Muchas gracias @pucklatam por el ejemplar ❤️

4.5 stars This novel is released on May 14th. My first novel by Wnedy Walker and oh my word it was so amazing! Laura and Rosie are both sisters and One day she goes on a date with a guy she met online, only the next day, she doesn't come back home. Rosie is worried and thinks that something has happened to her. Told in two different perspectives and point of views, we are taken on the date with Laura, the night before, and are investigating her disappearnce with the Rosie, the day after. I found the different perspectives so smart and I loved it so much! We even got a bonus in this novel were taken to the past where events would be better if they were stayed hidden. This was such a smartly written novel, and Walker's talent as a thriller author really shows with this one. It's very hard to pull off a before and after story because some times it gets confusing and the timelines become confusing for the readers. But Walker writes like a proffesional and not only scores an A with her dual timeline writing, but as well as her dual characters. The twists came when you least expected it. The novel sets out to be something that is not. It's a deceptive one! It makes you think this where the story is going and this it who it is, but then it takes a giant U turn into another direction and just smacks us in the face (in the good way)! I did find myself gasping out loud at certain parts and I only do that when books reallyu shock me! I loved the secrets, but the twists! Oh the twists! Walker really got me with this one and I found myslef flipping the pages until there were no more. I read this one late into the early morning (4 a.m). That's how good it was. This for sure is going to be a blockbuster on the shelves and I cannot wait for everyone to read it! Thank you to St.Martin's Press for providing me with an advanced copy of this novel in exchange for my honest review. #bookstagram#books#instareads#book#bookish#booksbooksbooks#booklover#booklove#goodreads
Anyone have any sequels on their TBR? I really loved The City of Brass, yet have yet to read Kingdom of Copper, even though it came out a few months ago. 🙈 • 🌙🌟🌙🌟🌙🌟🌙🌟🌙🌟🌙🌟🌙🌟 • I really loved the atmosphere. It's set in 18th century Cairo. I'm just really drawn to desert settings, plus Daevabad is a secret djinn city. 😍 A desert settings, djinn, and intense politics? Who could ask for more? Sadly, it's been a year since I've read this and forgot much of the details. I feel like I need to re-read before diving into the sequel. • 🌙🌟🌙🌟🌙🌟🌙🌟🌙🌟🌙🌟🌙🌟 • I also want to read more books with djinn. After my current read, I'm planning on reading the e-ARC copy of the gorgeous The Candle and the Flame by @nafizaaz (check its cover - stunning!) that @netgalley kindly approved. It takes place on the Silk Road and sounds really promising. I also want to eventually read The Golem and the Jinni, City of Djinn, and Rebel of the Sands. • 🌙🌟🌙🌟🌙🌟🌙🌟🌙🌟🌙🌟🌙🌟 • ℚ𝕠𝕥𝔻: 𝓗𝓪𝓿𝓮 𝔂𝓸𝓾 𝓻𝓮𝓪𝓭 𝓪𝓷𝔂 𝓭𝓳𝓲𝓷𝓷 𝓫𝓸𝓸𝓴𝓼? Have you read The City of Brass or its sequel, The Kingdom of Copper? Thoughts? What kind of settings do you feel drawn to? • 🌙🌟🌙🌟🌙🌟🌙🌟🌙🌟🌙🌟🌙🌟 •
