💙 #stacksofhope 💙 • I’m joining @jennastopreading with this blue and white stack in remembrance of the 20th anniversary of the Columbine shooting. I was pretty sheltered from the reality of what happened that day, and don’t remember understanding the gravity of what happened until high school, when a victim’s brother came to my school to talk about Rachel’s Challenge— a nonprofit created in honor of his sister Rachel, the first victim, who was known for spreading kindness and compassion throughout her school. • Now, as a teacher, the frequency of tragedies like this one weighs heavily on me as I participate yearly in active shooter trainings, first aid tutorials, and intruder drills with my students. I pray that our country will not grow desensitized to these horrible acts, and I grieve for the families and communities who have known loss due to senseless gun violence. Colorado is on my heart today. 20 years seems like a long time, but I’m certain the pain is fresh every day. I urge you to spend your day making room for remembrance, grace, kindness, and hope toward a more peaceful future.
Święta to czas kiedy na mojej szafce zalegają stosy nieprzeczytanych książek, a moja lista " książki kwietniowe" jest pusta. Te świąteczne dni, spędzam z bliskimi zajadając mazurka i malując pisanki. Każdemu z Was życzę właśnie takich magicznych świąt, spędzonych z najbliższymi. [#partner @harperbooks] Hey guys, still alive! Energy is mostly back, so plans for today include disinfecting all of the things. I attempted reading one of my CRs last night (for the first time in almost a week) and got maybe 15 pages in before falling asleep. If it weren’t for being beat from this virus I would’ve kept going. I found myself looking through my unread shelf this morning trying to find similar, short-ish, page-turning thrillers and THE LAST TIME I SAW YOU by @livconstantine2 popped out at me. [Synopsis in comments]. This is my exact go-to kind of read after-or-while trying to tackle a huge book, which I’ll be doing lots of this year. Have you read THE LAST MRS. PARRISH by the same authors? What are some other quick, unputdownable books you can think of?
It's Saturday morning so I'm gonna keep it "light" 😉 . Elevation was an awesome little story! Another sweet trip to the famed Castle Rock, which I enjoyed. It truly was light and refreshing. Although, I would have liked an alternative ending more... But as a whole, fantastic! . I'd recommend this if you're looking for a quick, fresh read that will keep your interest the whole way through. ☁️☁️☁️
💜💙What’s your favourite colour combination for a book stack? @amyandbooks tagged me for this challenge a few weeks ago. Ta da! Presenting my purple and blue books! My favourite and also probably most worn colours. 💜💙The only book here that I haven’t read yet is The Three Musketeers...it’s one of the big bulky books that I have waiting to be read, and I’m not sure which one to commit to for the foreseeable future. Maybe that’s another post for another day! Tagging you all to show your favourite colour combinations. 💜💙 We’re getting organised to go up to the North Coast, which is my happy place, and also GOT territory! Hoping that the weather will stay nice for long walks and playing on the beach. What are you up to this weekend? 💜💙 . . #saturdaystack#stacksaturday#bookstack#bookstacks#beautifulbooks#prettybooks#bookspines#beautifulbookcovers#bookish#bookishpicture#bookphoto#bookpic
