Hello everyone!! How are you?💓 Q: What was the last book you finished and what did you rate it? • • The Wrath and the Dawn is another book I haven’t read yet. It was so hyped on bookstagram a couple years ago so I got it but then never picked it up. I’m not totally sure what it is about or if I’ll ever pick it up but the cover is really pretty☺️ Last night I finally finished Her Body and Other Parties which I gave a 2/5 ⭐️ It just wasn’t my type of book. It’s a collection of short stories and some of them were really weird and didn’t make any sense to me but I guess they all have a deeper meaning that I didn’t really get. Anyways if your into short stories I’d definitely recommend it and it’s also about women and like their different experiences and it’s kinda interesting to read. So yeah. I’m now currently reading Persepolis which I really like! It’s a graphic novel which makes it such a fun and easy read. I hope to finish it tonight and then I’m going to start reading Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi which btw is something I never thought would happen, haha. I’ve put the Shatter Me series aside forever but I guess it’s just time to start now!😆 • • Hope you have a great evening💞 xx
The Wicked Deep by Shea Ernshaw So I put off reading this book for a while mainly because I don’t like scary things, and ghosts and hauntings so I wasn’t really motivated to read it despite hearing good things about it. I finally decided to read it because I wanted to say I read even though I really thought I wasn’t going to like it. WELL, let me just say how wrong I was, this book surprised me in a good way. Summary:In 1822, sparrow, Oregon, the three swan sisters are sentenced to death for witchcraft. Little did the townspeople know that this would place a curse on their town for the next 200 years, every summer the three sisters return to haunt the town. Penny Talbot is used to this but when outsider Bo comes into town he is much more danger than he realizes and penny has decided she wants to protect him. Read if you like: ❥curses ❥fantasy ❥thrill aspect ❥plot twists ❥beautiful writing This book was so, so good, words can’t even describe it, the writing was beautiful the characters were amazing, though it made me have moments where I had to physically stop reading because of the plot twists it was truly such a good read and I really loved this book, and I think you will too if you like any of the things I mentioned above! Comment below any books that surprised you in a good way:) #bookstagram#yabooks

↠Summer TBR . . . ↠Has anyone ever read this series? I’m pretty positive I will read it this summer, just feels like a summer read. I think it’s because it takes place during the gold rush, what a cool time period to write about. I have high hopes because I’ve loved A Girl of Fire and Thorns by Rae Carson FOREVER. To me that book is perfection! . . . . . ↠Finished reading The Winner’s Curse and actually wrote a decently long review, at least to me. I usually portray my feelings via gifs majority of time with reviews. I even took notes this time, while I read. Who👏🏽is👏🏽she? Go check out the review! Add me on Goodreads as well if we aren’t friends already.
QOTD: What unfinished series do you own? ••••••••••••••••••••• As you can clearly see, I’m missing City of Lost Souls... whoops. I’ll get it eventually. I have the whole black and white box set, but I’ve been collecting the original paperbacks from thrift stores. That’s why they look a little rough 🤷🏼♀️ •••••••••••••••••••••••••• We’re so close to Memorial Day Weekend! Three day weekend! My husband and I are going down to Virginia to hang out with my sister-in-law, who’s in the Navy. I apologize in advance for being MIA! ••••••••••••••••••••••• Book Challenges: ~ #mayaswellread19 Rainbow Books ~ #pagesofthenightmay19 Fandoms who need love ~ #readingwhalemay19 So suspenseful
What are your plans for the weekend? I plan on catching up on my reading, read some Wordsworth for homework, and go watch Aladdin!! I’m so excited for the live action, it’s one of my favorite movies and it holds a special place in my heart because I was in the musical a few years back so I hope it doesn’t disappoint! 😄
What's a series that bookstagram made you buy? 🤔 For me, it's A Court of Thorns and Roses. • Now don't hate me, but I haven't read it yet. 🙈 It's not my fault though, my TBR never stops growing. It just grows and grows and now it's just this massive list I will probably never finish but that's okay. lol I like having a big TBR. 😂😂😂😂 • I will read this series eventually though so please don't hunt me down for not reading it yet. 😂😂😂😂 For now, it just sits all nice and pretty on my bookshelves like a lot of my unread books. 🙈 • • • QOTD: Have you bought any books or series thanks to bookstagram? • AOTD: I know I have. I get recs off bookstagram all the time. It's part of the reason my TBR is so big. 😂😂😂😂😂 I'm not complaining though. Bring on all your recs. I'm here for them. 😜
"I think you’re a fairy tale. I think you’re magical, and brave, and exquisite. And I hope you'll let me be in your story." -Laini Taylor ---☆☆☆☆☆--- 🌹Which book has been on your tbr forever? That's Strange the Dreamer for me! I hope to read it at some point this year. ☆ ☆ ☆ This gorgeous Weep candle is by @wickandfable ! You can use my code STEPHIE10 for a discount.
i actually did the second one first ⬅️ but if a book centers around a woman of color, i think i owe it to the story to put a representation of Camellia on the actual cover!🤓 but now about this book: it was such a masterpiece of fantasy! 🎢 so unique! characters of color! a lush world i hadn't seen before, just simmering with danger 😈 also the audiobook was pretty excellent, if that's your jam 🍓 we're only 19/100 covers even though i'm on track having read 40 books already this year! oops! ⠀
I went into a bookstore in Fort William and found a book 😏. What is new! It is a historical fiction set in the highlands! The title and cover lured me in andddd it had a recommendation tag from a coworker at @highlandbks ! 🤗. On the back a part of text says: ' We - the witch-called ones - were meant to have less light in us, less goodness than the normal folk. But I have as much light in me as the next soul.' . In short it is about a girl who gets imprisoned as a witch. While she awaits her death by burning an Irishman questions her. She witnessed the Massacre of Glencoe, to reveal what she knows she also wants to tell her true story. Set in 1692. . I am intriguuuued!! Anyone heard of it? . . . . . #witchlight#susanfletcher#fortwilliam#bookish#bookstagram#bookgram#ilovereading#ilovebooks#bookhoarder#bookworm#booknerd#bookshelve#fantasy#fantasybooks#reading#bookaddict#instabook#bookcollection#bookseries#bookaddict#europe#scotland#glenetive#booknookstagram#bookishfeatures#igreads#epicreads#instareads#fantasyreads
“People like us don’t fight for our own hope,” he said quietly. “We fight for everyone else’s.” ― Claire Legrand, Furyborn . If I do pass the competition to become a literature teacher in July.... then today would have been my last proper lecture ever. WHAT?! It’s honestly crazy to think that if everything goes right I’ll be teaching in a few months!!! . Anyway tonight I’m finishing my reread of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone and after that I’ll be picking up the Paper and Hearts Society, I can’t wait! . What are your reading? ✨ . . .
mysteries and other genres//new york city, usa🇺🇸 —————————————— Happy Thursday from NYC!☕️ I missed doing a celebration post for Arthur Conan Doyle’s birthday!🥳He was born on May 22, 1859 in one of my favorite cities... Edinburgh.🏴 I’ve only recently been reading mysteries since buying these for my Penguin English Library collection.🙃 ————— QOTD: What’s a genre you never read?✨ —————
Overthinking sucks. Anxiety sucks. Not believing in yourself sucks. It happens, and feeling makes us more human. If I didn't overthink maybe I would've never have seen in the pros and cons. Anxiety only makes me more determined to overcome it. Not believing in myself makes me want to do whatever it takes until I do. Sometimes we've just got to see the positives, even if we don't want to. We've just got to see the end goal and work towards something. Don't give up on yourself. QOTD: What or who makes you more motivated or feel better? Mental health is important and it shouldn't be a "taboo" subject.
