What are the little things that make you feel happy? I've got so many. Here's a few to get us started:  Going to sleep without having to set an alarm.  Taut & freshly washed bed sheets.  A perfectly ripe mango.  Showing up for the hourly bus just as it arrives.  And these sunrises. Wow. I don't get too many sunrises at home so it's been a privilege to wake up and flow with the sun. Just finished up a 3 hour intensive calisthenics workshop with @coachquinny at the coolest location in Bristol @starksfitnessgym 🌠💪🏼💛 . This guys got insane knowledge and no one better to learn from! I remember nearly 2 years ago I just discovered calisthenics and found myself bored of weight training so I searched for a cali trainer in my area and discovered @coachquinny! . I could barely stabilise myself or even grip without my hands hurting and had quite a few sessions with him to learn more about the possibilities of my bodies potential with a more movement focused approach to training and so happy to now be at a point where i can teach this too! Not to his standards though I'm a long way off from his strength 😂 . Anyway the point of this is that going to workshops, attending classes, learning from others who have more experience from you is how we get better at our own practice. It's been a good reminder about handstand form, shapes and various tips and a few new ideas for the rings! I'm coming for the front lever this year so watch this space 💪🏼 . Thanks again for the workshop Alex and so nice to meet some new people! This makes me feel so at home and happy knowing there is this community after everything that's happened! 🌍🌠 . Wish I'd filmed more but that's the sign of a good session when you're less camera focused 😂

ya boi likes it simple so to break it down real nice all you need is these 3 exercises to get a muscle-up👍🏼 - But in all formality, the muscle-up is a normal pullup done explosively. So to train for the movement, it would make sense to practice that same movement pattern but with different levels of assistance (using a band). Focus on being quick of course, no slow pullups allowed🐌

Here’s my advice: . STEP 0️⃣ EVALUATE FLEXIBILITY: you must be able to achieve the desired alignment between hips and shoulders in the first place; test yourself out while resting on the floor (making sure you’re keeping the lower back flat & the ribcage down to avoid any “cheating” compensation) . STEP 1️⃣ IMPROVE FLEXIBILITY: with the support of a wall, get into your desired form of handbalancing (again making sure you’re keeping the lower back flat & the ribcage down to avoid any “cheating” compensation) and condition your body for longer & longer intervals -OR- think outside the box and use other forms of complementary training (for example my Tuckstand flexibility is good enough thanks to my previous experience with the Overhead Squat) . STEP 2️⃣ BUILD STABILITY: being able to reach a balance for a split second feels like victory, but it’s just a battle; the war will be won when you figure out how to stay up there with a perfect blend of body tension & relaxed breathing . . . . Watch my Torso⁣ ⁣ I keep getting questions regarding the rib cage.⁣ ⁣ Why am I so obsessed with breathing?⁣ ⁣ Why do I keep emphasizing the exhale?⁣ ⁣ Because it is one of the hardest skills to master. Most people coming in for the first time simply can’t do it.⁣ ⁣ Many have been exposed to “breathwork.”⁣ ⁣ How am I different?⁣ ⁣ I don’t let you cheat.⁣ ⁣ “Good enough” doesn’t exist in my vocabulary.⁣ ⁣ “Good enough” kept me in agonizing hip pain for almost a year. ⁣ ⁣ Honestly, “good enough” just doesn’t get the job done.⁣ ⁣ Breathing is the link that allows you to access SO many things.⁣ ⁣ It helps regulate the position of your rib cage (sets you up to use muscles in the way they were DESIGNED for).⁣ ⁣ It allows you to down-regulate a sympathetic response (gets you in a space where you are CAPABLE of learning new skills).⁣ ⁣ It is the opening salvo in a war of sensory feedback (being unable to SENSE your body means you will never be able to change patterns).⁣ ⁣ This is usually how I start my own training sessions:⁣ ⁣ Set up with a towel under your neck. The towel should support your neck; you should feel the back of your head slightly touch the ground (this is an update; Airex pad is old news). Extend your head naturally; you shouldn’t feel tension in the neck on your set up. You should be able to fall asleep like this.⁣ ⁣ 1️⃣Dig your heels down into a bench or on a wall to get hamstrings. Relax your abs. Knees and feet are touching so you can get adductors.⁣ ⁣ 2️⃣Exhale until your soul leaves your body. I mean it. Don’t half-ass this part.⁣ ⁣ 2️⃣Hold on to the pressure in your obliques (side abs) as you inhale (don’t let the belly expand).⁣ ⁣ 3️⃣Reach more before you exhale.⁣ ⁣ 4️⃣Reach more before you inhale (reaching is imporant).⁣ ⁣ Just always be reaching. This is an active reach.⁣ ⁣ I get 3 breaths before I tapped

Today was fun to just play in the park with my best friend and her little girl and forget about real life for a while 🙃🌳 . Its been hard accepting recent events but knowing we are working towards a better, more stable future together is worth the struggle. I wish we'd had all this information last year in the run up to our marriage.....we could have saved a few grand and a lot of grief but we know now and still learning and it's made us reassess what we want vs what we thought we wanted. If a basic elbow plank is getting too easy, instead of just holding for longer durations of time, increase the difficulty by walking the feet out slowly and extend the lever. This will make the exercise more challenging, and increase the intensity, leading to greater strength gains. "If you always do what you've always done, you will always have what you've always had." Find ways to make exercises more challenging. If its getting too easy, you will need to either add weight, or do a more challenging variation, to continue to progress with your bodyweight strength training. 💥SQUATTED JEFFERSON CURLS 💥 This one always makes me relax my Lowe back so much, that’s why I love it🥰  How to: 🔹start by lowering down like in a normal Jefferson curl, just that this time, your legs are shoulder width, because you will need to squat at the bottom. 🔹Try to curl vertebrae by vertebrae, starting with your chin. Most likely it won’t look like you’re curling vertebrae by vertebrae, but focus on the sensation. 🔹Keep your knees extended at all times. 🔹Your core should be tight, to protect your spine. 🔹Once you reach your end range of motion, exhale, and try to go a tiny bit deeper. Stay there for a little bit. 🔹Start lowering your butt by bending the knees, while keeping the weight low. 🔹once in a squat, adjust what you need- lower the weight, make yourself comfortable and focus on curling your spine- this movement helps me so much to relax my lower back. 🔹Lift your butt by extending your knees and then slowly start curling back up - vertebrae by vertebrae, with your chin moving up last. 🔹Start with a low weight - 10kg. If that feels too easy, or it’s not giving you any stretch at all you can play with adding more weight, slowly. In the video I’m using a 16kg kettlebell.
