In hindsight I should have fasted this morning... a dangerous statement for a pregnant women to make but let me explain 😂 How often do you truly LISTEN and HEAR what your body is asking of you? If you wake without an appetite do you eat because ‘it’s the most important meal of the day’ or do you simply rush around and not hear that signal at all? It may not seem like a big issue at the onset, but later in the day as you experience energy dips, hangriness and fatigue do you connect those feelings to how you started your day? To what you ate and how you ate it? Or do you eat the damn muffin for a bit off fuel because to hell with it ? 🤷🏼♀️ The true question really isn’t how is food affecting ME, but how AM I affecting food and it’s ability to nourish and fuel me 🤔 ?? So to explain, I should have delayed my first meal to respect my bodies needs. Because I wasn’t hungry and simply put my body said no ♥️ How are you going to hear your body today? Jenn xXx
Signs of emotional maturity don’t come at an ‘age’. Emotional maturity is a continual growth (note: continual) and awareness of the self, others and the environment around you. How does this affect your health? When you expand your emotional awareness, you are able to control your perceptions and interpretations of events from a ‘third person view’, therefore control your emotions, not letting the outside dictate the inside! . Signs of emotional maturity are . 1. Ability to set healthy boundaries for the self, knowing it’s okay to say ‘no’. . 2. Inspired by other’s success, not jealous or resentful. . 3. Recognise patterns in your own behaviours, and take responsibility for them. . 4. Respect others beliefs and ways of living, by trying not to ‘fix’ them. . 5. Following your own path, rather than letting social idealism’s or others, influence your decisions . . Lunar 🌙🌙🌙
UNDERWATER PULLDOWN #breaststroke is easily the most complex of the 4 competitive strokes; It's start is no different. The Underwater pulldown is comprised of 6 different stages. 1: It begins with an underwater #streamline, 2: it is then followed by a #dolphinkick 3: This elevates the hips allowing for optimal #leverage for the #pulldown 4: After the body slingshots forward comes the sticky spot... You have to #sneak the arms forward, tightly drawn toward the body, to minimize drag 5: A #breaststrokekick helps continue forward propulsion before you finally 6: #breakout. There is certainly room for improvement in all of the 6 stages seen here, to get to the maximum legal distance of 12.5 yards (half way across the #pool). Having never done #physicaltherapy after my scoliosis surgery back in 1997, I’ve felt a strong pull to make sure my body felt strong and aligned this year. I’ve been consistently treating my body with different forms of therapy both preventative & when I have muscle spasms or knots, using: #massagetherapy cupping therapy (See marks on my shoulders) acupuncture Foam rolling #tensunit currents . To name a few, but I realized when I work out, I have no idea of what I’m doing is safe for some of my problem areas(that’s why PT helped me notice areas that I’m tight in or feeling pain AND correct the form which is essential for my spine / shoulder alignment)...one being my hips. If you sit for work, or just get tightness this workout was a great way for me to find some mobility in my hips while also keeping control. I’ve found that even though I don’t have mobility in my #spine - I need to maintain the movement in other areas and our hips take a LOT of pressure.
Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there! One of my favorite memories of my dad is the walks he would take me on just to fill me up with sweets. Over the years, my dad the type always worked no matter how he felt. When I started my beauty business, my dad to me to keep going, he was proud of me and will suppot me in all that I do and he did throughout trials, ups and downs during my journey to get here, which will always be very special to me. I love you dad and I’m grateful for you this Father’s Day… and every day you were here with us

We constructed and put a miniature version of skeleton up at our investigation area and read a book about different bones of our body. We made different moves to check how our bones help our body to maintain its shape. But I ignored the tiny voice. Instead, I tried to manage it. I tried to cut back. I tried to hang on to a piece of something that was killing me, but it was also familiar. Today I am feeling raw, emotional and displaced. I am worrying a ton, I feel like I cannot treat myself and I have to work either harder or less, I don’t really know. I recorded a Youtube video where I am just talking and crying basically but it felt good and I am feeling better already. My head is a weird place. I keep failing to trust the universe, the law of attraction. I think I am too rational and as soon as I let go I fear to fall behind and that nothing is ever gonna happen and I stay where I am right now or even worse - I have to take steps backward. I have no idea how to get out of there. I am just too afraid. Making a living with only what excites me the most seems so far fetched, at least from my point of view. Note to myself: let things allow to happen, take away the urge to wanting to control every bit of my life and let go of the thoughts that limit me and put pressure on me. It’s easier said than done.
