I breastfeed my daughter for two years. I officially stopped one day after her second birthday (May 21st). Leading up to her birthday, I slowly put things in place and communicated with her that her last days were upon her. lol 😭 Now that I've had my entire body back for almost two months, I want to embark on a new journey of weight loss. Even though it will be a journey to reach my goal, I smile because it feels incredible to feel like myself again. I'm talking mind, body, and soul. . . . . . . . . #nomorebreastfeeding#breastfeedingmama#twoyearsbreastfeeding#blackmomsbreastfeed#feellikemyselfagain#feelingmyself#feelsgood#isingbecauseimhappy#coffeeshop#blackpants#lacetops#blackmom#blackmothers#blackmomsbreastfeed#fitnessmotivation#weightloss#breastfeed#breastisbest#momweightloss#bbgmomsover30#milf#hotmamas#hotgirlsummer#plantlover#momofone#momlife
Today I’m leaving my tiny human for the first time. I’ve never spent a day/night away from him, the separation anxiety will be real and I feel bad because he literally has no idea. However, this mom-cation time is much needed and well-deserved. much to celebrate! Side-note : I literally birthed the most perfect child. I can only imagine what his future sister will look like. This literally makes no sense, he’s incredible. wow!

We are advocates for home births, birthing centers, and having doulas because of our poor healthcare system. This year at our #nursathon we will have a panel discussion on what options are for pregnant women and nursing mothers when it comes to healthcare. Our panel will also include a lactation specialist for our mamas that need more tips on latching. Our nutritionalist will be there to speak on how your food and diet can also have effect on your breast milk. _ Because this has to change. Our annual Nursathon will be held on August 25th at @shophappymango. Details coming soon. . . . #thenursathon#blackmomsbreastfeed#homebirth#blackdoula#atlantadoula#breastisbest#blackbreastfeedingweek#blackmomsblog#blackmotherhood

Can't stop staring at my beauty for ashes and praising God for the great things He has done in my life❤ Many things show me how much our relationship upsets certain people, and today was just another day of that reminder. Someone politely said to me my baby shouldn't be getting up in the middle of the night to feed and continued with "when do I plan to stop breastfeeding and that my baby is walking, talking, and eating solids so she needs to be weaned and drinking cows milk🙄 Jk that wasn't polite but rude as all get out. Excuse me, I don't recall the longevity of our breastfeeding to be any of your business and #mindyourownnipples 🤱🏽 Some people feel their unsolicited advice is golden! I dismissed her like spam mail as I do anything else that isn't conducive to my life's successes. I haven't had a whole lot of support breastfeeding my baby. With constant questions of "didn't you just feed her" to "you're going to feed her here". Even feeling guilty at work for having to take breaks to pump. People try to act like they are supportive but they aren't and I'm okay with that. My prayer life and my trust in God is what has gotten us as far as we are and will continue to keep us for as long as possible. (But definitely before kindergarten 🤣). How's everyone else's day going?❤
If you breastfed, how long did you go? Did it feel on your terms, or did you end for some external reason? 👇🏾👇🏽👇🏻👇🏿 We did 6 months (couldn’t keep up supply with an intense job) 13 months and 14 months, respectively, and stopped for different reasons each time. 💗 Still miss it so much, especially when our 20 month old seems fussy and off and in need of comfort that nursing can offer. How about you?
•If you breastfeed for a few weeks:”You need to breastfeed longer” . •If you breastfeed for a year: “Whew chile it’s past time to wean her” . •If you breastfeed longer than a year: “She’s gonna be on their till she’s talking” . Moral of the stories here is moms, do what you please for you and yours, even if that means formula. I was determined to stop breastfeeding when my little one got her first pair of teeth and here we are 14 months later still going strong. . And though I think I’m finally ready to wean her, she’s not nibbling and making the naysayers boobies saggy so let us live! . To my mama’s, how long did you breastfeed and if you’re currently breastfeeding when do you plan on stopping ?
