Some will say, that cashing in on something in #popculture is an easy game - but we say it’s fun. If it was not for #gameofthrones many of us would not recognise this beautiful wood! So a win win for everyone. #repost @discoverireland ・・・ The Dark Hedges in Co. Antrim - absolutely stunning once the light starts coming in from the side!😍💚 . . 📸: @chrisneilmckay . .
WHERE’S the most colorful small town you’ve been to? ❤️💛🧡🇮🇪🍀💚💙💜 Welcome to Doolin, Ireland! Certainly colorful in appearance and local character, this small town is situated in gorgeous @thewildatlanticway . After visiting the Cliffs of Moher I drove down a few windy scenic roads, windows down blasting my 90’s Irish/British road trip playlist and ended up in this adorable town for lunch! I parked my rental car and walked along the river until I saw the view of the colorful village right over the bridge. I set up my camera and waited over 30 minutes to get a clear shot, as this may look like a quiet town it’s not at all! There are loads of cars speeding in and out, tour buses with hella groups walking on the bridge to head to the famous Doolin caves and the random couple here & there stopping on the bridge for a romantic kiss n cuddle. ❤️🍀💋🍀❤️🍀💋🍀❤️🍀 After I got my shot and admired the greenery surrounding the gorgeous bridge and river I headed into the wee village for a bite to eat. I ended getting some fish & chips, mushy peas and tartar to enjoy in the garden outside one of these colorful buildings. While I was taking photos of my plate (check out @lafoodiegirl for the photo 😋) a local man came up to me and started chatting as he was Intrigued by my camera and ask “why’s a pretty lass like you all alone!?” I told him I was solo traveling around his country covering content for @tourismireland while he rolled a cigarette. He then told me a bit about himself, and how he’s a musician “Mik from Athlone” and sang a song, then wrote a quick poem he dedicated to me! He was such a nice person so I even offered to share half my meal with him and take a few portrait shots of him. I love meeting locals while traveling because they have the best advice on where to go/what to see and it’s always cool to stay in touch & have friends all over the world!
