One of my resolutions this year is to create more content. Another is to not be so hard on myself, and accept that not every video has to be perfect to be worth posting. So cheers to doing more of the things you’re passionate about, and celebrating the journey- not just the destination. Hope you enjoy! ❤️ Check out the full video on my YouTube channel! Link in Bio! 🎤🎤🎤#singersofinstagram #actorslife#resolutions Also! I’ll be singing at @onthespotnyc at @broadway_comedy_club again on 2/25 so mark your calendars!
Dear 2018, This is what I learned this year and BOY AM I GLAD I DID. I’m not for everyone and that is okay. I don’t always have to accommodate everyone and that is okay. I am finally coming into my own, living my truth and no longer allowing people who don’t serve/support me to take space/energy in my life. A few spectacular, warm, loving friends who want the best for you always and see the best in you are worth their weight in gold. I’m learning to say no to things that don’t bring me joy and yes to things that do. I’m learning to put up healthy boundaries. I’m learning to feel the fear and do hard things anyway. I’m learning to not listen to the voice in my head that tells me I’m not qualified. I’m learning to not listen to the voice in my head that tells me I don’t look right. I’m working on eliminating the scarcity mindset/feeling less than in my life and focus on abundance/owning the areas I am qualified. I’m learning that the only way is through and sometimes requires very honest conversations with yourself. Very VERY very excited to see what 2019 brings. Very excited to continue to grow. Grateful, thankful and still in love with this life.
What an artistically fulfilling week! Thankful for the opportunity to learn with Scene Study, perform with @actortherapynyc and audition for Hamilton. 9 year old Christae would be pretty blown away right now that this is her life (including the 58 hour survival job work week 😱😂)
Ever since I was a little girl growing up in MT, this has been one of my favorite television events of the year because of all the beautiful Broadway performances (second only to the Tony Awards)... Today I’m watching the parade from the comfort of my NYC living room since it’s 19° out this morning. I always have to pinch myself because I feel so grateful that I get to finally live in this beautiful city after years of dreaming of being here. Wishing everyone a day full of love, family and delicious food today! Beyond excited to see my family in a month!
So much fun in @actortherapynyc this week doing a recital that included some of my new book songs, this is “Right Hand Man.” 🙌🏻 It is definitely done a lot, but I think it fits me really well and I have been working on bringing my own FUN to it! Hope you enjoy my dorky little dance toward the end and my MANY facial expressions haha. 😍😜🙃😘 Also what do we think of this jumpsuit? I was really feeling myself in it and got a ton of compliments (thanks frands) but now I am feeling like it might be a bit too big? Either way hope you enjoy the fabulous color contrast that is going on with those signature Ripley-Grier curtains. 😜 Happy Friday! 💖Alden 🎹Jason Wetzel Also thanks to @ethancarlson5 for always keeping the camera so still—you’re da real mvp.
A little preface for this post: This is a song (‘Out of Sight, Out of Mind’ from the musical A Tale of Two Cities) I immediately fell in love with upon hearing it. I have always loved the book/story, and Madame Defarge is a TERRIFYING/badass villainess. I wanted to sing this song in college. I tried it... and it did not go well. I could sing it fine in my room, but in class my throat closed up and I could not make normal, healthy human sounds with my voice. It was an emotionally (and almost physically) scarring experience, and I haven’t touched the song since then. . . . I’ve been learning a lot about my voice (and especially my belt) the past year or two, and I had the impulse to pull out this song again. This video is far from perfect. I’m sort of hunched over the kitchen counter, reading the lyrics/music off of my computer screen. The lighting isn’t great, nor are my hairstyle and makeup (or lack thereof). It’s been a long day, I am exhausted, and so my voice sounds a little rough at times (which actually kind of works for the song TBH). But it feels FREE and HEALTHY and EASY and POWERFUL. And I am posting as a document of the progress I have made, and am still making. 🙏🙏🙏 . . #actor#actorslife#singer#musical#musicaltheatre#nyc#singerlife#actorlife#progress#belter#beltress#singhealthy#singhappy#work#play#classic#dickens#villain#ataleoftwocities#theatre#theater#faceyourfears
Courtney Bruce's song is worth your ticket alone! She is INCREDIBLE as Ardelia. She is also equally hilarious in her other characters and the most adorable lamb you ever saw! If you haven't seen her in SILENCE! yet, you've only got 3 more chances this Thu-Fri-Sat! Do Not Miss Courtney In This Show! . . . #lathtr#silence#silencethemusical#bucketlisttheatre#beltress#amazing#talent
