Let’s talk a little about SUGAR! Do you have a sweet tooth? 🍪🥤🍝🥗 1️⃣Do you know that there is NO daily recommended intake of sugar? There is NOT an amount of sugar that you should be consuming every day. 2️⃣The US Dietary Guidelines recommend consuming less than 10% of your total calories from sugar. If you are eating a 2,000 calorie diet, that’s about 200 calories. 3️⃣The American Heart Association has specific recommendations on limiting “added sugar”. You may have noticed this broken down on your food labels more recently? Are you reading your labels? 4️⃣We often swap sugary things for “better” sugary things. Like Coke(39g sugar, 140 calories) for Orange Juice (34g sugar, 170 calories). Better choice? The truth is you are still trying to tame or satisfy your craving for sweet. And what does that do? It encourages you to continue to seek out sweet! Hello reward system! 5️⃣Finally-is sugar sneaking into your diet in unsuspecting places? Look at YOUR labels. I bet you have things in your pantry that have added sugar (pasta sauce, marinades, boxed dinners, protein bars) that you are not expecting to see. Find one and comment below! Being totally real here-The beautiful salad is Wendy’s Chicken Apple Pecan Salad. Delicious. Probably one of my favorite salads. When we get fast food this is where we go so I can have this salad (which I did Thursday night). When I went to track my salad in my daily log,I saw that it had 41g of sugar...uh it’s a salad...it has a little more sugar than the 12oz Coke. 🥤😬 Now this salad also has lower fat 24g which is probably why I started eating it so long ago. Low fat anyone? There are other salads on Wendy’s menu where the fat is high (Southwest Avocado Salad 64g) but sugar is low (7g). Which are you more afraid to eat fat or sugar? When fat is low, on many foods, sugar is often higher to make it taste better. Hello Apple Pecan Chicken Salad. That is a bigger conversation.

2018 The toughest year of my life and one I would love to forget, also one I will never forget as I have learnt so much about my self and what I am capable of. People tell you at the time how tough it is going to be to recover physically but it’s the mentality and the games your head plays with you is the toughest by far, not to give up and keep striving to get better and move alittle more each day. Being able to accept the fact of how much you could do before to how little you can now. There is one person in particular @snezv that help me get past that feeling sorry for my self wanting to just lay on the couch and recover that way. By seeing and being around her, what she did and has overcome motivated and helped me move forward but also she just made me get up and get shit done. I finished the end of 2018 and went into the new year 2019 feeling strong motivated and surrounded by an amazing community @ausletics. I had a goal that this year I would be able to complete the crossfit opens rx as prescribed before the 1year mark post surgery. I am very great full and humbled to be able to say I did it, thank you @snez for all that you have done and continue to do every single day. 🍎👊🏼@accelerate_physiotherapy for keeping me in tune and all the treatment and Craig and Annie at @crossfit_three_flow for allowing me to join in your community and partake in this years opens

Power cleans BABY!!!! Finished up the power building phase with a 1 rep Max 275lb power clean this weekend. Not an all time Max but it's a 50 lbs increase from 6 months ago, so I am damn happy!!!
