8 miles for me, middle 6 with these fun ladies!!! I planned a route with several major climbs- I covered 455' of climbing in 8 miles but most of the hills were in the middle 6- you're welcome @noelianunezart and @run.eat.rinse_repeat 😄  It was strategy on my part tho- the half this weekend has 300+' of gain, and I want those hills to look cute and darling and sweet and not all looming or scary! Whoever said you can only get a workout in at the gym, has obviously never tried to do a handstand over and over again to get the right shot! Haha 🤣 anyways, HAPPY HUMP DAY! We’re almost through the work week and I feel like it’s flying by!  I love what I do, I love that I work from home and get to motivate others to accomplish their goals. I love sharing goals and hearing what people are trying to improve on.  I love hearing that when I make posts that I feel insecure about, it’s actually pushing others to get up and get moving!  I use to struggle with nay sayers and I’d give up, constantly. I hated that about myself. I let the opinion of others fill my head and get me down. I was a quitter and I was amazing at it 🙃  But I’m now at a point in my life where I would have tried doing a handstand 100 more times if it meant success over failure.  If I hadn’t started this journey as a coach I’m not sure what I’d be doing or what else I would have given up on.  But I’m blessed to have found a solution to that mindset and it was simply changing my lifestyle. I feel stronger mentally and physically than I ever have. I couldn’t even imagine giving up now! 🤩 the dreams are too big and someone’s gotta bring it to the table! 😁  What are you currently working towards? 🌟 Look back at where you came from and let yourself be proud about your progress. You.Are.Killing.It 🌟  Day 206 🏃🏻‍♀️ and this really did get out of hand!  A steady 6 mile trail run turned into a 10 miler as I have absolutely no built in GPS and I was too busy enjoying the views and taking  pics 🤦‍♀️ Plus I had to walk to get to the car... I had nothing left in me!  I loved it ❤️ and once I’d refuelled it seriously got me thinking about how far I’ve come.  I started running almost 3 years ago as I approached 40!  I’d always told myself I couldn’t do it until one day I tried!  I started with a mile round the lake on holiday in Majorca, and as they say the rest is history!  However, I used to always do be same short road routes 3 or 4 times a week.  I didn’t dare take Buster 🐶  in the woods that I was familiar with on my own for a walk, let alone run on my own in a different place!  These days I just don’t care where I go as long as I can 🏃🏻‍♀️ The thought of going somewhere new does excite me and I don’t let the “dare I, should I, can I “ doubts creep in, I just go!  Sometimes we all get carried away with worrying about where we should be in terms of fitness and our goals.  I believe it’s much more than that and every now and then we should just pause and look at how far we’ve come. Not just physically but mentally too.  We are all doing amazing.... just remember to look back occasionally and see how far you’ve come. I’m imagining I am on a beach 🏝 sun glistening on my skin, no laundry 🧺 or workout 🏋🏽‍♀️ to tackle... but then I open my eyes and I’m still in my room 🤦🏽‍♀️ 😂 ⠀⠀ We all know, it’s tough to get started. It’s not easy to throw on your workout clothes and start tackling your fitness goals ⠀⠀ Our inner couch potato is often our worst enemy. We subconsciously waste a lot of energy trying to figure out how to get out of a workout ⠀⠀ Tip of the day: Get out of your head! Stop thinking of all the things you have to get done today, how hard the workout will be or how it’ll be okay to skip today’s workout (I fell into that trap Monday 😬) ⠀⠀ It’s time to break those mental barriers and get our sweat on ⠀⠀ Who’s working out with me today? ⠀⠀
Sometimes I forget how much power the mind has over what we can do physically. Funny since my PhD is in psychology right? I only forget when it is related to my own abilities I am super great at reminding others.  Today during the workout we had handstand walks (which I am not close physically or mentally to doing) or wall walks which are something I can do sometimes. I was reminded that I needed to use my core more. So as I was running before going back to wall walks I had to take the time to remind myself that I have a strong core and I just need to use it.  I don’t know about you but sometimes I have to tell myself things over and over again when I am working out. Which meant every time I started to do a wall walk I said, engage your core, your core is strong and keep pushing. Tomorrow is the day, when I will get checked again. Mid february I visited @cardioscan.de in Hamburg to check my fitness and health condition. And tomorrow we will analyse me again to figure out if I improved within my training for the marathon. The parts I wanted to concentrate on were gaining muscles and lowering the blood pressure. Testing with the physiotherapist today showed my shoulder impingement has improved - more range of motion for less pain. 🙆🏻‍♀️ It is a slow process but the exercises are working and I am gradually increasing the loads. Run the blue line!  Statt entlang der Seine wird Florian Walz am Sonntag entlang der Elbe laufen. Bereits zum 34. Mal wird der Hamburg-Marathon gestartet werden. Neben knapp 14.000 Marathonläufer haben sich auch 6.600 Staffelläufer und 3.434 Halbmarathonläufer gemeldet. Gerade die limitierten Startplätze des Halbmarathons waren erneut sehr begehrt. Heute noch Mal 12,8 km bei knapp 300 Höhenmeter. Im Wald ist zwar viel Schatten aber die Hitze habe ich heute gut gespürt. Nach den 25 km am Ostersonntag konnte ich heute irgendwie nicht unter 10 km laufen und habe mir einen Rundweg mit vielen Anstiegen gebastelt. Trying to keep it up at the gym. Life has just been getting more busy it seems. Still love the process, still love to train. Been lacking on energy, thinking I need to change up my caffeine intake to maybe something more along the line of a pre workout.
