So let me tell you about this swing... I talked about it on my blog post recently and this was a good old-fashion plank of wood on some rope. You gotta hold on for dear life as you jump off this platform and swing out to meet the universe or at least your heart does when it jumps out of your chest. Talk about an adrenaline rush! This was by far one of the most amazing & exhilarating experiences I have ever had in my life and I would do it again in a heartbeat. Do you have any experiences like that, "where fear & excitement collide with exhilaration but you are so glad you did it" kind of things?
Bus from Quito to Baños today! Dragged my suitcase far away from the bus terminal to a quiet hotel called @posadaj recommended by @misskatwise The waterfall is my view! I got the mas grande room with king size bed and hammock! It's gorgeous and peaceful. Ate a huge dinner at Cafe Hood around the corner. Met the owner who is also an #airbnbhost ! @misskatwise painted the Ganesh wall about 15 years ago! Signed up for some exciting adventures tomorrow! Stay tuned!!! #banosecuador @imagine.ecuador @cafehood @vivobarefoot Wearing my vivos everyday!

Land is often preserved because of a species that humans have institutionally considered important. However land should be preserved for itself, for the diversity of species that we can name and can not name. The land and the organisms are inextricably tied and human conservation efforts should reflect this. . . . I am grateful for EcoMinga Foundation and their land conservation efforts in the area east of Banos in Ecuador as they are preserving a huge diversity of land and thus organisms. These are images from some of their reserves and one from the touristy waterfall known as Cascada Pailon del Diablo that is in between those reserves. . . The last photo is from the edge of one of the reserves and a striking reminder of what loss looks like. . . #ecuador#banos#banosecuador#southamerica#nature#naturephotography#andes#andesmountains#cloudforest#rainforest#landconservation#conservation#sudaamerica
This river was massive and it was roaring so loud! I think this was the moment, as we were crossing this bridge that I looked out and saw the fog, the mountains, the dense jungle all surrounding this river racing underneath my feet, this was the moment that I realized I was in the Amazon. Whoa! I felt tiny and rather insignificant in comparison to the magnitude of this place. What a feeling!
School is out; time to head to the candy store! Lots of children hitting the streets. Children of all ages walk, even little ones, by themselves. Refreshing to see them and hear their happy chatter. #schoolsout#happykids#schooluniforms#banosecuador
These plants & foliage were amazing in the jungle. You know how some places you go just feel ancient? The Amazon jungle we visited is definitely one of those places! Some of the plants & trees look & feel like they have been around long before man and will probably be here long after us as well. So many shades of beautiful green! No wander green is my favorite color!
Do you ever have moment when traveling where you look in the mirror even while taking a selfie and think, “Oh! There you are!” ⠀ •⠀ I lost a big part of myself over a period of years. Little by little I was chipped away, broken down and defeated in my marriage. ⠀ •⠀ I’ve been divorced almost 3 years now and while that seems like an entirely different lifetime I am still recovering pieces of myself and will continue to do so for a while I believe. ⠀ •⠀ Do you find travel to be healing? ⠀
Reminiscing on the blog today about my adventurous weekend in Baños. When my only concerns were waterfall chasing, not falling out of the raft, and ensuring my safety harness was secure while swinging from a tree house (swipe right) When my hair was longer and I didn’t know as much about how to get the perfect Instagram shot. Working on getting back to a simpler time but until then, I share my stories on the blog so you can have an epic time in Ecuador. I am soooo excited to share these photos with you all! This day excursion into the Amazon jungle was amazing and filled with so many adventures, including a water filled canoe ride, getting bit by some unknown bug & rubbed down with some sort of blood and a trek to a breathtaking waterfall! * Be sure to click the link in my bio to view my new post and you can subscribe to get my weekly updates as well! ☺️🌿
Who is up for a little walk in the Amazon jungle? Tomorrow I will have more photos on my blog from this day excursion into the jungle. It was one of the highlights from Ecuador and of course it had plenty of twists and turns!
I am NOT naturally good in front of the camera 😂 While I am all on board the “Real Life show all” train of presenting “the good, the bad, and the ugly” when it comes to travel, sometimes.... just sometimes.... I really want at least one nice photo of myself. I don’t set up a tripod to take selfies because I don’t trust that someone won’t run off with my camera or just innocently knock it down. When I travel alone, I take selfies with my phone awkwardly, minus the selfie stick. I mean, I don’t alwaaays wanna look like a hot mess even though 90% of the time I totally do. But when I am traveling with someone... especially someone who is willing to take a few and also open to learn more about photography in general, you better believe I am gonna take advantage of it! @jorgealegriapinheiro did a great job, don’t you think? 😂❤️
As we walked to the top of the hill in Baños we could look down into the ravine below and the houses looked like perfectly placed little dream house situated next to the flowing waters. Everywhere we look here there is so much beauty & lush greenery! 🌿❤️
The Pailon del Diablo (Devil’s Cauldron) located on Ecuador's "ruta de las cascadas," the waterfall route along the Rio Verde river, a thunderous waterfall for sure! We ate Chochos, had $12 massages, delicious Ecuadorian food and a some cocktails before jumping on a bus at midnight to head to the coast for some sun, surf and sand! Highly recommend a Visit to Banõs de Agua Santa! ❤️🏔🇨🇴 🍹// #banosecuador#baños#waterfalls#livelaughlove#travel#lovetraveling#ecuador
