Frequently in art history animals are used merely as symbols, which strips them of their individuality. To speak to this issue I made this gilded glass piece based on "The Virgin and Child with St. Anne" by Leonardo da Vinci wherein I removed the titular humans to place emphasis on the lamb and her experience. You will see that by extracting the people the scene becomes more peaceful. In the original, even the gentle Christ is shown straddling the lamb's neck and pulling her ear, treating her as a thing to amuse himself with. The anthropocentric worldview has caused so much hurt, and many religions have helped justify this view through teachings like "And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth." We live in a world with a problematic power dynamic between humans and animals. This is most poignantly seen in our modern way of raising animals in factories that are so nightmarish to enter that farmers instead use apps to feed and water them. A lamb belongs in a field not a dungeon. The life of a lamb means as much to her as your life means to you.............................................................................................. This piece was made using the traditional technique of verre eglomise, or glass gilding. It is made with 22k gold leaf and reverse painting on glass. The panel measures 10" x 10" x 1/4".
Back away from those animals You are slaughtering and while your at it open those fucken cage doors so me and my army can rescue the poor babies #stoptheslaughter#animalactivism#banfactoryfarms Grhhhhh I dream of doing this on a daily basis I just want go into these slaughter houses and factory farms with a gun and stop it all Nothing would make me happier than to rescue all those poor babies that are suffering as we speak🙏🙏🙏
You have a choice! You can thrive on plants or you can cause unimaginable suffering to innocent animals. Every meal is a vote. Every meal is a chance to do the right thing. Vote for justice. Vote for peace. Vote vegan 🌱😎🙌❤️🌎
This is how it starts. Send me a message and I can get you started on a journey that will save countless animals. The journey sucks. It’s hard, long, tiring, brutally physically demanding, and mentally anguishing. But it’s necessary and super important. One of the most important jobs the animal rights movement needs right now is undercover investigators. I can connect you with the right people if you’re interested in becoming an investigator. 🙌🌱❤️🌎#veganworldinourlifetime
Turn sound on 👍 I’m watching cartoons with my five year old daughter and this gives me a perfect opportunity to explain that in order to get cow’s milk, farmers must take baby calves away from their mothers - otherwise the babies will drink the milk! The villains we portray in movies and TV all have something in common: they take from others in order to benefit themselves. Heroes do the opposite. Heroes fight for and protect the innocent and vulnerable, often sacrificing themselves. This is what vegan activism is about. It’s about speaking up for the defenceless victims of the farming industry. Veganism is about demanding justice for those who deserve it. #endanimalfarming#govegan 🌱🙌❤️🌎
Year of the pig = 2019 = year of the vegan = tipping point for the start of a revolution 🌱🙌❤️🌎 #repost @cristina_the_activist ・・・ @vegan_zeena - I heard a commercial on the radio the other day....it went something like this...” this year is the year of the pig, so why don’t you get some pork on your fork” 🤦♀️ What a fucked up world we live in.... These beautiful animals are not food...they are too goddamn precious....they all are!!
We are inundated with the monotheistic notion that God can hear our thoughts and prayers. And that that somehow will count for something when considering whether we are good moral people. That’s all bullshit. No one can read your thoughts. No one can hear your prayers. No one (except other humans) understands the words you utter. Only actions matter. Don’t just say you want to make the world a better place. Actually do something that makes the world a better place. #endanimalfarming#govegan 🌱🙌👍❤️
Being vegan is a non action. We need more animal rights activists to take action 👍🙌🌱❤️ #repost @jessyforthevoiceless ・・・ Too loud, too pushy, too extreme, too often, too much, too graphic. 👉🏽 Too bad 👈🏽 I mean, how silent would you want animal rights activists to be if YOU were the victim? ------------------------------------------------------------ Credit to @that_vegan_couple : 🔊 Sound On 🔊 What vegans can learn historically from other social justice movements is that activism is needed to create change... simply not participating is not going to create the change we want. ~ That is why we use the tagline "Going vegan is not the most we can do, it's the least we can do". ~ We gave this talk at #vegan#australiaday recently, along with our Brisbane @anonymousforthevoiceless group demonstrating a Cube of Truth. It was a great opportunity to inspire vegans to join their local animal rights activist groups
This is almost exactly what I drink every morning. Super tasty 🌱💪😁❤️ #repost @medicalmedium ・・・ | HEAVY METAL DETOX SMOOTHIE | This smoothie is delicious and also perfectly designed to include 5 key ingredients that work together in synergy to pull heavy metals like mercury, lead, aluminum, nickel, copper, and cadmium out of your organs where they accumulate. _ Heavy metals can be responsible for countless disorders and symptoms including Alzheimer’s, anxiety, ADHD, OCD, autism, bipolar disorder, numbness, tics, spasms, hot flashes, heart palpitations, hair loss, brittle nails, memory loss, insomnia, fatigue, migraines, and depression. _ These liver troublemakers are virtually everywhere. They are present in things we come in contact with every day, such as aluminum cans, batteries, metal cookware, pesticides and herbicides, old paint, and even the foods we eat. _ It's virtually impossible not to have a certain amount of these toxic heavy metals, so it's vitally important that we get them out before they can wreak further havoc on our health. Thankfully, it's relatively simple to remove them from our organs if we consume the following all-star team of foods _ Spirulina: This edible blue-green algae draws out heavy metals from your brain, central nervous system, and liver. _ Barley grass juice extract: This nutritive grass draws out heavy metals and prepares mercury for complete absorption by the spirulina. _ Cilantro: Goes deep into hard-to-reach places, extracting metals from yesteryear. _ Wild blueberries: Unlike cultivated blueberries, wild blueberries draw heavy metals out of your liver and brain tissue, healing and repairing any gaps created by oxidation when the heavy metals are removed. _ Atlantic dulse: This edible seaweed binds to heavy metals, but unlike other seaweeds, it is a powerful force for removing mercury on its own. _ Heavy Metal Detox Smoothie _ Ingredients: 2 bananas 2 cups wild blueberries 1 cup cilantro 1 cup orange
Human canines are no excuse to eat meat. Our canine teeth are extremely small compared to the obligate carnivores of the world and are meant for ripping into fruits, like apples and pears rather than the skin and flesh of other animals. 🍎🍐 Sharks and lions do not need steak knives. 🍴🍽 Imagine what true carnivores would look like with human teeth 🤣 Obligate carnivores don’t have a choice. They must eat meat. Humans, on the other hand, do have a choice. We can thrive on plants 🌱🙌❤️🌎 #govegan#endanimalfarming
Greatness takes great sacrifice. If you know what you’re doing is right, don’t give up. Keep fighting, for the world will be better when you win. I don’t agree with this dude but I love this post => repost from @joerogan
All feelings, emotions, and sentiments are shared between humans and animals. They feel what we do, just sometimes to varying degrees. As Charles Darwin said, “The difference between man and animal is one of degree and not of kind.” 🙌❤️🌱 eat plants, not animals. #repost @we_love_animals_8 ・・・ Back with his mother and father ❤️ . . الحيوانات ايضاً لها مشاعر ، إعادة قرد لعائلته بعدما تم إنقاذه (معالجته) . . . . . This was me.To vegans who think like I used to. Who think I'm lying. That I was never truly vegan. That I was merely plant based. That once you know the vegan truth you can't turn back. Incorrect That's just not true. I was an activist. A really annoying, in your face vegan. I convinced others to be vegan. Many who I see are struggling health wise now. Some who don't see it. Some who say they will sacrifice themselves for the animals. So be it they say whilst the health problems escalate. They can't turn back. I think that's partly because it becomes your whole identity and you're attacked if you leave the movement. Particularly if you're well known. Or you fear ridicule. Nobody who was a real ethical vegan (as opposed to plant based for health alone) can delete the images from their head. You've watched Earthlings. You know the ones I mean. And that's why the real fight needs to be against factory farming. Against that horror. Not against our natural diet. A meat based diet that led to our evolution. We need animal foods to thrive as humans. We wouldn't exist if they were harmful, come off it. Man may be idiotic at times but nature is not. What's harmful are food like products like vegetable oil, sugar, chemical sweeteners, processed carbs and all those grains, industrial trans fats. Processed crap. Foods that cause obesity, metabolic syndrome, type 2 diabetes, heart disease, autoimmune imbalances etc. None of this is promotion of a return to an unhealthy SAD or SUKy (Standard UK) diet - most ex vegans seek true health. What's healthful is real food like meat, eggs, fish, saturated animal fats like tallow and lard, olive oil, some nuts and seeds, greens, fibrous vegetables. Simple really - pre agricultural foods not the ones that've shrunk our brains by ten percent recently. If we all ate this way we'd avoid the majority of today's diet created dis-ease. If we bought our produce from local farms and not the intensive affairs all around things would be
