I'm a firm believer that how you END your year, is how you'll START the next one. 😍😍😍😍 For so many years, my year would end the same way... with ALLLL the holiday stuff, good and bad (food, drink, gifts, eating, eating, and more eating lol, stressed, and broke), and the next year would start in a funk. I was stressed about spending too much on Christmas and how we were going to pay the December bills we skipped to make a Christmas... oh, and January's bills too. :/ I was in a funk from winter blues and feeling SO UGH - sluggish and even heavier... so much weight gain. 🤢🤮🤒🤯 That's not a fun way to ring in the new year. These pics are Dec. 2009, Jan. 2013, and Nov. 2018. Life is so different now, because I made the choice that MY HEALTH is more important than a one-time-a-year holiday. Do I skip all the holiday foods and fun? No! Of course not! Life is better, because that part of my life is in more BALANCE! Right now, I am SO fired up about how my team and I will be ending this year with our 24-day challenge. It's going to include everything we need to BOOST our mood and holiday spirit, to get and STAY motivated, to have some fun with our fitness, and learn all about BALANCE and surviving the holidays with our sanity, in tact! Balance is a precarious thing. Notice how when one thing isn't feeling right, other bits start to shift to compensate or collapse under the pressure. How are your four bodies today? 🏃♀️Physical: have you moved your body today? What are you fuelling your temple with? 💃Emotional: how is your heart today? Have you spoken to a loved one today? Have you hugged someone today? Have you felt connected to community today? 🙆♀️Mental: are you being challenged and stimulated today? Have you learned something new today? Have you decompressed and emptied your thoughts today? 🧘♀️Spiritual: do you have an established daily practice that makes you feel closer or part of something bigger than yourself? Do you have a daily practice that brings your awareness to the 'bigger picture' and the interconnectedness of life? It might be time to get balanced.
•BALANCE• I am really learning how important balance is this school year 🙌 With teaching, being a Mama, having my family and friends...I have to learn what I can and can’t do. I’m really focusing on my self care to make sure I can be healthy and happy. A few things that help me include eating healthy, exercising, reading more books and spending as much time as possible with my son. My priorities shifted a bit this school year, so IG along with TpT has taken a backseat. I’m totally fine with it because I know that I can’t do it all and I’m happy with that •BALANCE• is my one word to focus on in 2019.
