When I start to feel anxious, I often picture myself at home practicing yoga with Daisy by my side. I can't always be there, but I can often imagine myself in that calming environment. - - Our body language can make us feel more anxious so I check in with my body to see where I am holding tightness that I can possibly release. I sit back, relax my shoulders and jaw, slightly raise my eyebrows, pull up the corners of my mouth, and take a deep breath (or several), and close my eyes if possible. - -
Balance is usually a hard thing to find in life. Balance between work and family. Balance between the things you have to do versus the things you want to do. Balance between eating healthy food and delicious food (don’t at me bro). But some days it comes easily. And those days are sweet. Life will always be a battle. So enjoy the days that aren’t. Oh and lest you forget, the best way to enjoy such balance and rest is when you are at peace with God. What to eat first, the chicken or the egg 🐔 🍗 🥚 🍳 What you see here is 2 chicken patties with cheddar cheese and 2 fried eggs. 😋😋😋 Lunch today is heavy on fats and proteins and light on carbs. I plan on having more carbs later today/tonight, why? Because Friday, that’s why! 🎉 🎊 🍹 🍻 In all seriousness, nutrition is not a daily adventure. It’s a lifetime practice and understanding one day or one meal will not have the ramifications of dooming you for more than what you allow. 😮😮😮😮 Track your food. Learn your calorie maintenance set point. Track your macros for sometime. Play with your goals by increasing or decreasing calories. Play with your macro ratios to learn what’s optimal for you, performance wise and health wise (they are not the same). Become aware. 🚨 🚨 🚨 🚨 Be aware of your daily habits and enjoy the times you get to fully enjoy. 🔬Creatine🔬 . Follow 👉 @adviceonfitness Post by 👉 @roballenfitness . Creatine is a combination of amino acids. You get it in high protein foods like fish and meat, by supplementation or by producing it in your body after ingestion of the amino acids needed . Once it’s in your body (directly or by being made there) it will bind with a phosphate molecule and create Creatine Phosphate. . Your body uses ATP (Adenosine Tri Phosphate) to do pretty much everything. It uses carbs, protein and fat to create more ATP. When ATP is used, it loses a phosphate molecule and becomes ADP (Adenosine Diphosphate) - ADP isn’t really much use unless it can be converted back to ATP . When you’re doing a very intense, short duration exercise, your body begins getting its ATP from the Creatine Phosphate system. If you have a sufficient amount of creatine in your body, it will continue to donate phosphate molecules to regenerate ATP. This won’t go on forever and other (weaker) energy systems will take over but the added creatine can give you an extra rep or a bit more time under tension which, when accumulated over time, can result in added muscle mass, strength and power . Stop. Drop. & Roll Away From Those Feelings❌ . Last night my #30dayfitbodies girls and I had an Empowerment Call & the topic was Emotional Eating. . I used to binge when I was alone. Food filled a feeling of emptiness. We talked about what emotions led us to eat and how there’s always something deeper going on. When you resort to eating to fill that let me tell you, your problems, the root cause will still be there, AND now you’re feeling guilt too and are further from your goals. So what are you really solving?? Let those urges be triggers to FIX your problems and emotions. . IDENTIFY the emotions that lead you to eat. What you acknowledge it it takes away some of its power. Make up your mind BEFORE HAND that you’re not going to resort to eating. Over time that voice that reminds you of your strength and your goals will get louder and louder in those moments of weakness. . Next time you feel yourself giving into Emotional Eating, follow the wise words of @devidoo_ “STOP, drop (the food), and Roll away from those feelings (or that drive through😂)” . Can you relate?? I should know as a former card carrying member of restriction. The only way to curb a craving is to satisfy it! In the past I would hold out for days, weeks, and sometimes months when it came to chocolate, and guess what, every time I gave in and had some I literally lost my mind around it. I would go straight into a full on binge. These days I feel chill AF around chocolate. There’s even packages of chocolate that haven’t even been opened in my house! You guys that’s like a miracle! I don’t even give them a second thought. That’s a complete 180 and I owe that #foodfreedom to #intuitiveeating 🙌🏻 So when you want chocolate, enjoy chocolate, and when you want a big a*s salad 🥗 go ahead and do that too!
