The perfect snack 😁🍎🥜 When I go for a snack I want something that won’t leave me starving immediately, so I make sure it includes two key ingredients; fibre and protein. This is one of my favourite combinations because it’s so easy, and between the pb and yoghurt it has a good amount of protein and with the apple it has plenty of fibre 🎉 the recipe is simply: -1 cup plain Greek yoghurt (this can be flexible if you use a single little tub of yoghurt or if you use a cup out of a big tub, don’t stress too much) -3 tbsp peanut butter -3 tbsp honey (I’m sure maple syrup would work but that’s $$$) -1tsp cinnamon Then you just mix it all up together and dip apples in it. I’ve realized I haven’t celebrated toast Tuesday or taco Tuesday in a while but that’s okay because I’m enjoying what ever else I’ve been eating 😂 and honestly I don’t even remember what I eat most the time ( but Instagram helps me remember ) • This salad was from Saturday when I went out with my parents for dinner! As women, our hormonal systems are very sensitive to energy intake and fluctuations in food intake.⠀ .⠀ In periods of extreme food scarcity, women's menstrual cycles will stop in order to preserve energy and because it’s clearly not a good time to be conceiving a child.⠀ .⠀ The key here is EXTREME food scarcity. Typically that doesn’t mean a period of short-term fasting or time-restricted eating… though for anyone limiting their eating window to 1 or 2 hours a day, you most certainly need to be careful⠀ .⠀ Women trying to lose body fat are more likely to do the exact things they shouldn’t: exercise too much and eat too little.⠀ .⠀ If you’re causing your body to be in severe caloric restriction every day, your period will get irregular and temperamental. Take this as a guide of hormonal disruption. Lay off the fasting for a while or make sure you’re eating enough. If your period has disappeared!? You have a problem.⠀ .⠀ So ask yourself - are you eating enough? Are you super strict about what you eat and how much you eat? If so, you’re still just following all of your past diets and adding fasting on top of it all. ⠀ .⠀ Severe caloric restriction for long periods is NOT safe. Do not use fasting as a way to disguise disordered eating.⠀ .⠀ For all the women who aren’t underweight and aren’t severely restricting calories and instead following typical fasting protocols? Keep on truckin’! Intermittent fasting is totally safe as long as you’re paying attention to your body’s responses and breaking a fast when you feel you need to rather than being focused on the time on a clock.⠀ .⠀ In the end, fasting should improve your life, not make it worse. If you find that fasting has negative effects, stop doing it. But for the majority of women? Fasting is totally safe.⠀ .⠀ .⠀ Reminder: You shouldn’t be fasting if you’re pregnant or have a history of disordered eating

My fiancé & I made a pit stop for lunch at Cheesecake Factory and I found this delicious salad on their “skinnylicious” menu. Chia seeds are one of the best "must have" in your kitchen! They're part of my healthy foody routine now and forever 🌿🍴 . . . 📖 Il existe mille et une façons d'utiliser les graines de chia (en boisson, en pudding, avec du lait d'amande, de coco...), mais voici comment je les utilise : 1 cuillère à café de graines de chia pour 8 à 9 cuillères d'eau (les graines sont hydrophiles). Bien mélanger, et ensuite je les mets au réfrigérateur toute la nuit. Au lendemain on obtient un "mucilage", à savoir une sorte de pâte gélatineuse. J'en versé alors 2 cuillères à café dans mes yaourts au soja, puis j'ajoute quelques céréales pour la gourmandise et des fruits frais, sans oublier ma poudre de coco. Je consomme une verrine au petit déjeuner et une en dessert au déjeuner. Les graines de chia sont riches en calcium, protéines, fibres, antioxidants, vitamines..., et sont connues pour leur effet tonifiant et surtout rassasiant, ce qui en font des alliées de taille pour un objectif perte de graisse et pour les sportifs. Par exemple, quand je commence le travail à 5h, je ne mange qu'une verrine à 4h15 + un fruit, et je n'ai pas faim du tout jusqu'à la fin du travail, à savoir 13h. Idem pour quand je mange une verrine comme dessert au déjeuner, je n'ai plus envie de grignoter jusqu'au dîner. Et l'effet fringale après le sport n'existe plus, ce qui évite de gâcher nos efforts ! Attention à bien boire toute la journée cependant pour bien rester hydraté !
