My own progress over the last two years 🙈 you don’t really realise how far you’ve come until you look back. Don’t get yourself down if you don’t see noticeable difference day in-day out. Growing and changing how you look can take up to a year! Patience is key 🔑💘
Since everyone seems to care about #workingout and #gym related content I present to you my #failed second attempt (of 3 attempts) #deadlift at 585 pounds. Why am I sharing this with you? Because the gym is important to my wholistic #wellbeing and it isn't always going to go your way. I got a bit greedy yesterday and missed my #lift. What will I do? Well, I'm going to crush 585 by the end of February so be on the look out for that. Based on this pull I should have just gone after 545x3. #failing is a part of #life. This is a perfect example. I got mad at myself and tried again after this but my body wasn't having it. I will adjust and adapt and come back to hit this weight for reps. It's going to happen. Just like every other aspect of life; adapt, adjust and press forward. Lifting isn't everything. #fitness isn't everything. When your tea spills turn into a heart you know it’s going to be a good day. Happy Friday, lovelies. 🖤 Friday, named after the goddess Freya, the Norse goddess of beauty is a day infused with playful, celebratory energy. A day made for celebrating the achievements of the work week and taking life more from the bright side. And to amplify that the world outside my window is dressed in sparkly white today. 👑 Goddess Freya is the celebratory aspect of the Empress archetype, sovereign ruler of 2019. She has no trouble at all owning her sovereignty and showing off her beauty and bounty. She is powerful and her magick was both feared and revered by the people. A true queen. She knows who she is. And who she isn’t. She knows when to celebrate and when to roll up her royal sleeves and get to work. She’s a master at sacred self-care. 👑 There’s a lot to learn from her. As I sit in the @equinox BFP Lounge looking out on the city. Taking in DT. Taking in the WTC I can’t help but feel grateful. Grateful for being right here right now. Friday factoids, aka my week in review:⠀ ⠀ * I successfully completed 5 workouts without overdoing it. Because my internal governor is always set to maximum, the second part of that sentence is the real win.⠀ ⠀ * Work this week was a tyranny of little pain in the peach details that required fixing. Like one million times. I'm considering an alternate career driving a forklift...⠀ ⠀ * The MINUTE I reclined on the sofa in the evenings this week, it was lights-out. I had to set goals for keeping my body upright until at least 7:30 lest I too closely resemble my 85-year-old-self.⠀ ⠀ * I've discovered that Ensenada Chicken is the only thing you can eat at Red Robin when you're being mindful of calories.⠀ ⠀ Tonight I have a movie date with a friend, and this weekend the Mr. and I (well...really him) are building a pull-up bar out of pipe fittings in the basement, so life's good.⠀ ⠀ Happy Friday! xoxo Steph
Yummiest Snack! 😋😋😋😋 Banana + @wholefoods 365 Peanut Butter + @lilys_sweets_chocolate dark chocolate chips!🤗. .. .. I had a pretty hard workout yesterday ....so I felt a little famished around 4:00, and we weren’t having dinner till around 6:30.... I don’t usually need a snack because I eat a pretty big lunch usually, but yesterday, this was JUST what I needed. If I hadn’t made myself a snack, I’m pretty sure I would’ve munched all afternoon on chips or something else 🤷♀️. .. .. I ADORE these @lilys_sweets_chocolate dark chocolate chips. Not only are they sweetened with stevia🙏👍, but they are DELICIOUS!! I felt like I was having a decadent treat FOR SURE! (I have to admit, I’ve had to make a rule for myself that I’m NOT allowed to eat@them straight out of the bag, or I could eat the whole bag😬!). .. .. I’m always amazed how much more satisfied I feel when I actually put a snack on a plate and eat it like a “mini-meal” instead of munching out of the pantry. If you NEED a snack, go ahead and have one ...but make it satisfying!!! No pantry snacking!!! That just gets out of control!!. .. .. Like I said, I don’t always need a snack...I try to listen to my body....how about you? Are you an afternoon snacker or not?

I eat delicious things every day and have lost 3.5kg (7ish lbs) since the start of the year 🙌 how? Because I'm aware of everything I eat, I have never and will never cut out specific food groups, it's all about overall calorie consumption.
